"Thursday 30 jan22 was our fourth visit since the takeover of the new owner and his always good beer and eat etc. but unfortunately there has gone a bit quite wrong now. we were a party of 3 this time, but 4-6 at earlier locations. three. steaks, two were in order, the third was the half of the size and not the same cut. I should have sent it back, but the others in the party had a good time so I had it slipped, which was a mistake. then moved back into the desert two were good, the third (mine) was a pure ice cream, but I soon discovered to my frightening a sharp clump of plastic (probably broken from the storage container lid) in my mouth the size of a £ 1 coin! I hate to think what might be happy. this was the last stray, until the counter (plastic and ice in the hand) and told the waitress, where I was offered a replacement or ice from the bill. no apology by management. No, I'm sorry. I just couldn't believe what I heard. because I suspected that the duty would come to a number of people and later talked about it. Oh and yes, it gets worse. we ordered a few take-beers and it came from another and I thought a few words of apology or a discount maybe, na zilch. we paid left and with no tip. it is only the quality of the beer that stops this total value lees. our group visits rendham several times a year, but we will not go there again! the personal needs a certain training to deal with such problems, although it should not be before. tony reading"

"We have eaten at this restaurant every time we travel through Brewood. The service has always been excellent and the food was up there with there very best. On our recent visit we found the service to be perfect however the meal lacked flavour and was not up to the standard that we have come to expect. The prices have rocketed and is by some margin the most expensive I have ever paid for an Indian meal. I doubt I shall be eating there again; it is just too expensive."

"During our first visit to the Cottage Inn, we discovered a wonderfully friendly pub that we will certainly return to on our next trip to Filey. My wife decided to head to the bar (a change of pace for her, haha), and she came back with a big smile on her face. It turns out that the owner shares a similar upbringing to my wife, which added to the warm atmosphere. Unfortunately, meals were not being served during our visit, but if everything goes back to normal, we look forward to enjoying a meal there as well."

"I booked a large table weeks ago before refurbishment for 10 -15 people so expected to arrive and find table reserved. No table was reserved. Was offered tables in an adjoining room. Ok decided to accept that. After ordering we were served with cups with no saucers or carry out cups!!!! Not good enough. Some ladies had to go up to servery and request their scones etc. All in all for some of us who frequented the cafe often we are disappointed at the new lay out. Too noisy due to lack of soft furnishings to absorb sound and certainly no privacy. Like a school canteen for 5 year olds. You may have catered for the congregation but at the end of the day you are running a business to boost church funds. May revisit the cafe but please address these issues."

"Called here this afternoon. Rang ahead asked for a table for 3 . Owner said he could fit us in. On arrival our table was ready . Window seat in a room to the left . There was another room on the right plus more infront of the bar. Service was prompt . Had a pint of ale Kahuna the ladys had WKD and Coke. We ordered Hallumi Fries and Cajun Mushrooms to come with our mains of ,Home Made Cheese and Onion pie, Chicken Burger and a Rump Steak Burger. All with beer chips. Food probably took 15/20 mins to arrive and was nicely presented. We were not disappointed, it was delicious. Unfortunately we had no room for a sweet. The service was excellent and all the staff we interacted with were a credit to the pub. We were also pleased with the bill. Great value . We shall return."

"we had a Sunday dinner in this lovely pub. it was excellent. all five of us, 4 adults and a child had all the two classes on Sunday lunch from the menu. We were greeted in the pub by the renter who was very friendly and felt welcome to us all. we would recommend all this pub for a visit, as eating was great!"

"We came twice during a week's stay in the lovely village of Wedmore. My wife, son (10) and I really enjoyed the cooked breakfast. There's a good choice of breakfast dishes which are served well into the morning. The English breakfast with coffee was a great start to the day. A couple of days later we came back for lunch but due to its popularity, all the tables inside were booked. However, we were offered a table out at the back: they had a really pleasant garden to sit in. My son enjoyed his sausage sandwich and locally made lemonade. The simple but delicious homemade food and the friendly service makes this place highly recommended."

"Such a lovely, friendly welcome. Staff beamed, drinks were good, but cook needs some help in the kitchen keep the menu simple, and taste, taste, taste. Maybe just do only a daily menu one starter, one main, one pudding and make it right. Add choices when you get confident. Good luck it's hard being a rural pub these days."

"my aunt, oncle and cousin were in the bulls at this Easter weekend and had a fantastic experience. colin, bruce, the pub dog and colins team made it a really beautiful occasion. my related were thrilled by the clean, tasteful and comfortable accommodation, and we enjoyed a fantastic breakfast and dinner together. colins well-respected and delicious breakfast menu has something for everyone and our evening meal was excellent. colin and the bull team did their best to make sure everyone had a fabulous weekend. would recommend a visit. many thanks to the bull for a great time."

"A lot of miscommunication with my booking was told id have to move rooms after one night when I rang in advance and was told everything was all set and ready for when i got there then got a room that I didn't want at all and didn't like when it was booked the next day so i said ill take the next best room but gave me the one i least wanted so im in the loft and its not what i expected compared to the other rooms as pictures described. Staff was lovley and atentive."

"I heard this was open as some of my family told me well worth a visit and man oh man im glad we came in. I had the cream tea and my partner had tiger prawns from the lite bites. A latte and a mermaid gin for drinks. My partner was very pleased with her choice which came with a small side salad and lovely bread roll. My cream tea was brilliant. The scones were the best I have ever tasted and I did tell the staff they were the best scones on Planet earth. Nice warm scones with a tasty cream and awesom jam. This also came with strawberries which were nicely chilled and full of flavour. All in all a beautiful building, delicious food and drink and couldn't ask for more friendly and helpful staff. Just under £21 a fair price too. Will definitely visit again."

"Started using them in 2019 when we moved to Lenham and they were delicious. Everytime I've gone in the last year it's just got worse and worse in my personal opinion. I know things are costing more but when you pay £10 for a meal you expect it to actually fill you up. The sizes have shrunk considerably. At one point I had to go back as was given less than a handful of chips when I'd purchased a medium. A large Donna kebab with less meat than the last small I bought. I keep giving them a chance but I think I will just leave it now. Just a shame there are no other options locally."

"We discovered this restaurant online for Sunday breakfast and arrived on our motorcycles. Luckily, we found parking right outside. The restaurant has a charmingly quirky, retro style and the staff gave us a very friendly welcome. The service was lovely and the meals tasted great and were reasonably priced. We chose to sit in the well-kept garden on this hot, sunny day, although there was also indoor seating available. The tables had parasols and the trees and bushes provided some shade. We could hear the church bells chiming in the background, adding to the nice atmosphere. We highly recommend this place and will definitely be back again."

"We stopped by for a meal after hiking Ingleborough and both of us ordered the Sunday Roast, which turned out to be disappointing. While the meat was good, the potatoes, vegetables, and stuffing were tough, and the Yorkshire pudding was so burnt that it was inedible. I noticed other diners at nearby tables had also left their meals. We mentioned our concerns to the waitress, but she didn’t seem particularly interested. The pub itself had a nice atmosphere, though."

"Unable to visit our usual dining place in the area (they don’t take dogs inside), The Old Crown came up as our wet weather alternative. Taking dogs, easy booking online, warm welcome, delicious food. I had a salad which was more like a ploughman’s, and it was probably the most delicious ploughman’s I’ve had. Often the bread is really dry this was warm, soft. The cheeses, ham, pickles went well together. We will return to the Old Crown. A good find courtesy of the English “summer”!"

"We had a works xmas meal here on 2nd dec. The pub was so warm and welcoming with a real festive feel to it. The tree, decorations and tables looked so pretty. Tne food was fantastic and so reasonable at £19.95 for the 3 course xmas menu plus coffee. The food was plentiful and piping hot. Everyone enjoyed their meal there were 17 of us). The staff were all so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. We would definately recommend this pub for its food, service and friendly atmosphere. Thank you for making our night special."

"This place was visited in connection to my uncle's funeral. After the church service, then a walk to the cemetery and back, we went to The Plough Inn for the wake. This place was comfortable and the room that we were in was for our party. There was food provided and there were also drinks available (somebody had paid for the drinks for us all). Also there was tea and coffee available as well. The food provided included open sandwiches, sausage rolls, pork pies, scotch eggs, crisps, scones, cheesecake, etc. They even did pie, peas and gravy. All was very nice indeed. A nice comfortable place. Staff was very pleasant. A nice afternoon catching up with family, but due to unfortunate circumstances."

"Stopped off after hiring a canal barge for the day for a bite to eat with our little dog who was made to feel more welcome than us beautiful food, they made her some little sausages which she shared with a dog next to us! Landlord was lovely, chatty and friendly and the staff all hard working and pleasant. Can highly recommend. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5"
