"Thursday 30 jan22 was our fourth visit since the takeover of the new owner and his always good beer and eat etc. but unfortunately there has gone a bit quite wrong now. we were a party of 3 this time, but 4-6 at earlier locations. three. steaks, two were in order, the third was the half of the size and not the same cut. I should have sent it back, but the others in the party had a good time so I had it slipped, which was a mistake. then moved back into the desert two were good, the third (mine) was a pure ice cream, but I soon discovered to my frightening a sharp clump of plastic (probably broken from the storage container lid) in my mouth the size of a £ 1 coin! I hate to think what might be happy. this was the last stray, until the counter (plastic and ice in the hand) and told the waitress, where I was offered a replacement or ice from the bill. no apology by management. No, I'm sorry. I just couldn't believe what I heard. because I suspected that the duty would come to a number of people and later talked about it. Oh and yes, it gets worse. we ordered a few take-beers and it came from another and I thought a few words of apology or a discount maybe, na zilch. we paid left and with no tip. it is only the quality of the beer that stops this total value lees. our group visits rendham several times a year, but we will not go there again! the personal needs a certain training to deal with such problems, although it should not be before. tony reading"

a so friendly and warm welcome. a large selection of beers from Woodforde’s brewery, including a frecher sweeter stout and a dark mild. some top knot art also on the walls.

This quaint village pub is a charming spot with a fantastic Sunday dinner. Our order got a little mixed up at first, but was quickly corrected. Some of the staff seemed new and young, with room to learn, but they were all very nice and friendly. View menu

We recently had lunch there with friends and were very impressed by the friendly atmosphere, excellent food and helpful staff. The service was good and unobtrusive, the house white wine delicious and the bill pleasant! We will definitely go again!

Born in Rendham, it was a nostalgic experience visiting the pub after many years. I had a delightful meal on a Thursday evening and was pleased to see the pub bustling with diners. I brought my dog along, and she was warmly welcomed with treats, a water dish, and a cozy blanket to sit on. The service was excellent, and the food was incredibly tasty. I highly recommend dining here and will definitely return when I'm in the area again. The friendly atmosphere and cozy log fire were lovely touches.

Having seem a couple of the reviews on here that criticised the landlord for being unfriendly and having recently suffered at the hands of a nasty, aggressive patron on our last short break, my wife and I were a bit trepidatious about visiting this place...whilst on a weekend getaway in the village. We needn’t have worried. The landlord was really welcoming of us with our dog, the beer was great 3 local beers, all in perfect condition and whilst the food won’t what n any Michelin stars, it was good, freshly cooked pub fare and really reasonably priced. They even had live music on. 5 stars from me for a proper, traditional country pub. Superb! View menu

We went to the Rendham White Horse for lunch on a Friday after walking from the nearby Lonely Farm Campsite. We were greeted warmly by a friendly woman behind the bar. Since we don't drink alcohol, we opted for soft drinks, which had a good selection. The bar seemed to have a wide variety of drinks to choose from. We both decided to order the steak and kidney suet pudding, a dish we both enjoyed in the past. The food arrived promptly and was piping hot and delicious! The portion size of the pudding was just right, satisfying most appetites. Although we were offered dessert, we declined due to our upcoming walk back. Overall, we had a lovely lunch and would highly recommend a visit to the Ren...

We visited with friends who live in the village and had Sunday lunch. The new owners and staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and accommodating. The fire was roaring, dogs, families, couples, friends with a lovely country pub atmosphere. All tables were full of people...chattering and laughing away. We ordered two roast beef and two roast loin of pork. The standard of the produce was excellent as was the preparation and presentation. For desserts, we had apple crumble with custard, sticky toffee pudding and a chocolate pot which were all homemade and of restaurant standard. There was a selection of good quality wines at a reasonable price. We have travelled extensively and regularly eat o...

"This wasn’t our first visit (the previous occasion was more positive than this) but this was really quite poor. Problem after problem, service was poor and just not very welcoming. Firstly, drinks weren’t available issues with draft, but then bottles weren’t available either. So there was a very limited selection of drinks on offer and the staff weren’t proactive in advising what was available. So it was request and receive a no! Secondly, the food was poor. The starters were shocking. Really quite bad. There was a bit of redemption from some of the mains, but we elected to not proceed with anything else as it wasn’t great. We had to wait ages for drinks and foods to arrive despite the fact that the restaurant was practically empty and many staff present. Frequently there were 3 staff at the back of the room standing about chatting, but they weren’t attentive to our needs. They didn’t check around the room to see if guests required additional drinks or require plates clearing. They didn’t check to see how the food was and when we complained regarding a starter they simply didn’t know how to handle it. When the draft beer came back on there was no proactive behaviour in returning to the table and letting us know so that more drinks could be ordered. Drinks were poured in wrong glasses, plates were cleared whilst people were still eating and then not cleared when they needed to be! Simply put the staff working had no idea on what table service should be perhaps they had received no training which is a major failing when the restaurant is part of a hotel. It was not welcoming. The restaurant was freezing cold. The service was really very poor and the food disappointing. They also don’t take dogs which in Aldeburgh is a bit weird. There is plenty of space and the tables are large so they would not be in the way. We won’t be returning."
