"What a delicious Sunday roast dinner we had today at the Huntingfield Arms in Suffolk. My husband had roast beef, a tender, tasty and very generous portion. I had a roast chicken breast which was also tender, moist and tasty. Accompanied by homemade gravy and 5 different vegetables and Yorkshire puddings and stuffing for the chicken if wanted. We would eat here every Sunday if we could, particularly with the good value prices they charge for such high quality food. With a warm welcome and a friendly landlord and staff, what more would you want? Hats off to the Huntingfield Arms and they also have a shop in the pub where you can buy their own homemade and frozen meals to take away."

"We had our engagement dinner at this restaurant two years ago, and decided to return for our 1st anniversary. The first time we dined here, the ambience was beautiful with many locals enjoying drinks at the pub, and the food was exceptional. The staff were all very friendly, creating a special atmosphere. However, on our recent visit, it seemed like a completely different place. We had a reservation for 6 o'clock and were the only ones dining, except for one other family. Although the menu sounded promising, we were disappointed with our burgers and veggie chili. The burger patty was small and unimpressive, served in a plain bun like you would find at a fast food truck. The fries appeared to be frozen, rather than freshly cut and fried as they were before. The portion sizes were also quite small, and we decided to skip dessert as the only option was Eton Mess. We paid £31 for our meal, including a bottle of water, which seemed quite expensive for the quality of food we received. The woman behind the bar was friendly, but it was evident that there had been many changes. It was mentioned that a new menu would be introduced the next day, and the chef had just started that week. Overall, we were disappointed with our experience, which put a slight damper on our otherwise lovely anniversary celebration. I doubt we will return to this restaurant unless we can be assured of the same high standard of food and atmosphere we experienced before."

"This traditional pub, wow, great food, great service, good prices, always full and busy!! Had a really good experience at The Dennington Queen (again), and had some amazing food, but the service, everyone we dealt with couldn’t be more helpful, we had just about the right amount of attention without it being intrusive which made for a great evening. Choices were excellent, even for vegan food and they were happy for us to mix and match choices around. Cauliflower starter is insanely good, as was the sweet chilli chicken and sticky toffee pudding! Coming back again before we go home."

"The people of Campsea Ash are lucky to have a local pub like The Duck! Excellent place for Sunday lunch. Roast Beef served rare, with a great selection of vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. Mixed meat roast and nut roast available. Traditional desserts, including brioche bread and butter pudding, rice pudding, and crumble. Good espresso! Dog friendly as well. Price per person: £20–30"

"This large pub consistently serves excellent meals every time we visit, especially the sticky pork! There are many seating options both inside and outside. They have a wide selection of beer, wine, and spirits. The service from all employees is fantastic. It's a great pub to check out, with live music in the outdoor garden."

"Have been several times and it has always been excellent overall. However this Sunday lunch today was rather underwhelming something was missing and I’m not sure what it was, have they become a victim of their own success like so many good, new, eateries? The starters were tasty but not at the level of previous visits, same for mains too. Our main courses of half pot roasted pheasant were very tough they should’ve melted in the mouth if roasted slowly which clearly they were not. With hindsight we should’ve rejected them and chosen another dish, but with friends joining us for a birthday meal it would’ve held up their main courses. I mentioned this twice to different staff members who asked, but with not much comment but, that ‘they’d relay it to the chef.’ Puddings, again, were not as good as previously ‘heavy ginger sponge’ (my wife’s comment) and a very sweet cows curd and honey glazed walnuts concoction that I had. Was is just because of Sunday service, was the chef ‘off’ his game or was it a sous chef standing in?? Is it really too much to ask of a bill for £260.00? Disappointing."

"Just had a really disappointing experience here. Previously I have raved about this place because everything about it has been wonderful; sadly today was a complete contrast. There were only 2 people serving but even so, there were so few customers, it shouldn’t have made a difference. We had to wait a good half hour for our food, and although it was lovely and hot, we sad were not impressed with the service. Charlie, the lad serving, was lovely and efficient, the other lad not so, and why does no-one answer the phone? We heard it ringing endlessly, and indeed, I couldn’t get through on the phone either. Feel very disappointed."

"Visited the blue naan today with my husband, we received a warm and friendly greeting from Johnny and seated straight away. Restaurant is decorated in a modern and contemporary fashion . Seating is very comfortable with lots of space between tables. We had the Sunday special buffet, there is a good range of starters, main and sides to choose from, we were offered a mixed plate of starters, which saved us having to choose, service was very prompt, good choice of starters, we were offered more starters if we wanted. Good choice of mains, from mild to very hot. I ordered lamb Jalfrezi and chicken korma, both were delicious, hubby had chicken vindaloo, he likes it hot, rice was nicely cooked and naan bread was light and fluffy. We were offered extra dishes if we wanted. Great , friendly service from all the staff, nothing was too much trouble. We will be returning very soon."

"Nice Pub shame we could not go inside due to Covid precautions as last time visited small an quaint inside. We sat in the large gardens on a nice sunny evening. They have it sorted, ordered food at Pub garden entrance patio doors. Food an...drinks ordered taken quickly drinks given to take to your table. Food of traditional fish and chips, ham egg and chips, scampi chip and salad, burgers, veggie one made of chickpeas and regular beef. All the were wonderfully presented and tasty well worth the money. The veggie burger was said to be the best ever tasted by one of our party (see pic)"

"This curry house is another great find. If you’re in the area, they have been established here since around 2003 and they gave the restaurant a full upgrade during the pandemic shutdown. The first thing that you will encounter is a lovely warm, welcome, and extensive menu, which, if I was to be a tiny bit picky, I would say needs to be slimmed down quite a bit. Our waiter was super helpful and friendly, he explained a number of the special dishes, so we made our selection, and as usual we overordered. Nonetheless, the food was good, I’ll give it a 4 out of 5 simply because, one or two of the dishes weren’t as fully flavoured as I was expecting. Parking: There is a council car park directly opposite, which is free after 6 pm."

"The main issue was that my dish did not match the description on the menu. When I inquired about it, I was informed that I had been told upon arrival that there were no steaks available and that there was a new chef. This was surprising since I had ordered sausage and mash! The menu described my meal as featuring special sausages, creamy mash, red wine jus, roast sage, buttered leeks, cabbage, and crackling. I was particularly excited about the crackling and had asked if it would be crispy, to which I was assured it would be. However, what I received was just sausages, mash, gravy, and kale—not at all what I expected. There were additional issues with the meal, but I do appreciate that the staff tried to rectify the situation after I expressed my dissatisfaction. Unfortunately, by the time they asked what else I would like, my companions had already finished their meals, and I ended up not eating a main dish at all. It seems the pub has recently changed ownership or management, and if things aren't addressed promptly, the chain may lose customers. Overall, it was an expensive outing that resulted in a very disappointing meal and experience. Price per person: £40–50 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2 "

"Two of us Bed and breakfast for 2 nights. Ground floor double room was no frills but totally adequate and comfortable with pleasant view. Dined in bar both evenings. A very good choice of dishes on the menu and the food was very tasty and well presented. On both occasions there were a lot of diners and there was a very friendly atmosphere helped by manager Kevin (I think his name is. who was a brilliant front man. The breakfast menu was very good and the full English was excellent..freshly cooked. So convenient for RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich/Dunwich Heath. Recommend circular walk from village via footpath to beach and back through RSPB reserve. See glass installation at Minsmere Chapel. We recommend Eel’s Foot Inn without reservation and ‘will certainly stay there again."

"Having enjoyed my last visit to this restaurant, I vowed that I would return. So, fast-forward 20-odd years , here I am again for the return visit! To be fair, I moved away from East Anglia not long after my first visit, so I have an excuse for not returning sooner. The food is just as good as I remember it all those years ago, although the prices have increased markedly over the years. I feel that, perhaps, The Royal Bengal no longer represents the value it once did, especially when taking into account the competition in the surrounding areas of Woodbridge. The addition of a 12% service charge and the high price of drinks do not help the cause either. Having said that, good food is worth paying for and that is what is provided at this restaurant. I will happily return here the next time that I am in the area ... l hope that it will not be so long this time until my next visit!"

"I absolutely adore this restaurant for a weekend getaway. It's our fifth time staying here. The room is wheelchair accessible, the food is amazing, and the staff is delightful. The location is very peaceful and it's conveniently close to Southwold, Dunwich, and Minsmere. Overall, we rate the rooms, service, and location all a 5 out of 5. A highlight of the hotel is definitely the tranquility it offers."

"My partner and I went to the Unruly Pig for their tasting menu on a Thursday night whilst on holiday in the area and it didn't disappoint at all. The staff were lovely and attentive, knowledgeable when we asked questions, really nice decour, and the food was absolutely divine. Would return any time, happily. I only had one drink as was designated driver and enjoyed a cocktail, but the accompanying wine menu seemed to go down well too. 10/10 Vegetarian options: They had a whole tasting menu for vegetarians"

"The White Horse is a classic pub with a wide selection of drinks. We decided to give it a try while staying nearby. The service was friendly, and I ordered the steak pie with gravy, mashed vegetables. The pie and gravy were tasty, but there wasn't much meat in the pie. Unfortunately, the mashed potatoes were dense and seemed like they came from a packet. The vegetables were very crunchy, making them difficult to cut. My husband had the fish and chips, which was good. We both had a dessert, which was delicious and addictive. The pub gets very crowded, but overall it's a great place to visit."

"Fantastic Establishment. I drop in to the Queens Head just for a beer. So glad l did, what a breath of fresh air so different from the norm! Lovely welcome, one of the owners, the Landlady even helped me find a parking place and l recieved a really nice welcome. I was asked my name and when l got inside l was introduced to the an equally welcoming group of regulars. I have now returned 4 times and l am more than happy to become a regular. There are a number of local and National beers and ciders on offer. All are extremely well kept and served by helpful and welcoming team.. The Landlady certainly knows her beers and is so knowledgable and enthusiastic about local and National Beers and Ciders. The Queens Head is like the Tardis with various rooms all individually and tastefully furnished. There is also a large well kept Garden with plenty of tables. The food offering is also different from the Norm and offers the odd fish dishe, all nicely cooked and well presented. Price wise the Queens Head is certainly very competitive to anywhere local. I live Locally and have experience a number of local hostelrese. A couple of these are fine. However if l am honest, The Queens Head will take some beating. Such a great on going experience. Regular entertainment and food themed evening. From Friday 21st until Sunday 24 September 2023. With over 25 crafted Ciders and beers. Again local and national Breweris will be represented. Sorry about this lengthy review, but the Queens head certainly deserves it. Obviously you will need to visit to enjoy the experience. I can assure you, you won't be disappointed. Dennis"

"Usually have really good fish and chips here, but.... Closing time stated as 2.30. Arrived about 2.05pm, and was turned away as chef was 'closing '!! Hmm why say you shut at 2.30 when it 's really more like 2.07?! So we went to the other one Fish Dish, open all day, and very good! Turning people away because you 're closing earlier than stated, is unwelcoming and unprofessional! There are othet cafe/restaurants in Felixstowe!"

"We were greeted by a waitress who appeared disinterested and unfriendly based on her interaction and body language. I had to turn my body to talk to her during our first encounter. When my husband asked for Aspel Drift Cider, she informed us that they did not have any on tap, but when he went to the bar, he discovered that they did indeed sell it. The waiter who took our food order was wearing shorts, which we found to be unprofessional. Our food took an hour to arrive, and while it may have been freshly prepared, the Thyme Chicken in cream sauce that my daughter and I ordered seemed to have an excess of dried thyme. The roast potatoes were undercooked and pale, lacking a crispy surface, and the plate was mostly covered with a packet of frozen peas. We were disappointed with the overall experience, and although we did not speak up at the time, we do not plan to return to this restaurant. It's a pity, as going out to eat is a special occasion for us, and we hope that other establishments in the hospitality industry can understand and appreciate that."

"I had previously booked this restaurant and had enjoyed lovely food and service, but unfortunately my return visit did not meet expectations. We were seated in a corner next to the toilet, with a dirty radiator underneath a foil-covered ceiling and 'crispy' napkins. Despite these warning signs, we decided to stay due to previous positive experiences. However, we were served flat fizzy drinks and overcharged, even after pointing out that the drinks were flat. The food was good, with tasty and hot dishes served in small portions, which worked well for a buffet-style restaurant. The service, on the other hand, was overly efficient and demanding. We were told multiple times to 'eat all' of our food, and even had to transfer uneaten items to our next course. We were also limited in our menu choices, with no crispy beef available and no dessert option. This experience was disappointing and we will not be returning. We should have left when we first noticed the flat drinks and gone to our usual spot, Mr Wings. It's a shame, as we had previously enjoyed dining here. Overall, it was not a pleasant or enjoyable evening, but rather one to remember for the wrong reasons. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a friendly family-run buffet restaurant."
