"Fantastic Establishment. I drop in to the Queens Head just for a beer. So glad l did, what a breath of fresh air so different from the norm! Lovely welcome, one of the owners, the Landlady even helped me find a parking place and l recieved a really nice welcome. I was asked my name and when l got inside l was introduced to the an equally welcoming group of regulars. I have now returned 4 times and l am more than happy to become a regular. There are a number of local and National beers and ciders on offer. All are extremely well kept and served by helpful and welcoming team.. The Landlady certainly knows her beers and is so knowledgable and enthusiastic about local and National Beers and Ciders. The Queens Head is like the Tardis with various rooms all individually and tastefully furnished. There is also a large well kept Garden with plenty of tables. The food offering is also different from the Norm and offers the odd fish dishe, all nicely cooked and well presented. Price wise the Queens Head is certainly very competitive to anywhere local. I live Locally and have experience a number of local hostelrese. A couple of these are fine. However if l am honest, The Queens Head will take some beating. Such a great on going experience. Regular entertainment and food themed evening. From Friday 21st until Sunday 24 September 2023. With over 25 crafted Ciders and beers. Again local and national Breweris will be represented. Sorry about this lengthy review, but the Queens head certainly deserves it. Obviously you will need to visit to enjoy the experience. I can assure you, you won't be disappointed. Dennis"

Gorgeous pub with fantastic food and exceptionally warm and welcoming. Visited with our teenagers and dog. Very dog friendly. A real gem of a find.

Had a great lunch here in late August with 2 kids. Staff were friendly and there was a good atmosphere. The pub is lovely and the gardens well kept and pretty. More importantly the grub was great, can't fault it. Wish it was closer to us so we could visit again

Yet another amazing meal at this gem of a restaurant! The food never disappoints an excellent selection all of which is exceptional quality and delivered with some of the best customer service we have ever received. Definitely worth a visit if you love your food!

We called in for lunch with a client. We ordered fish and chips. Perhaps the worst we have ever eaten. Miserable piece of fish with soggy batter, really weird peas and disappointing chips. Very expensive. The client was polite but I suspect just that. On the bright side the staff were great. View menu

We enjoyed a GREAT lunch here just before Christmas . Staying locally, we wanted to try the local pub for a meal, and it was just excellent. A very warm and friendly welcome from the staff, great menu choices, all cooked really well. Thank you to the team at the Queens Head we look forward to our next visit

!The advantage of simply booking and turning up is that one is not bombarded with 'how did we do? ' emails, so this comment is there because it was a great, enjoyable experience without the need to be ratified by some on-line robot. The problem with The Queen 's Head is that it has been AWFUL in the past so the new owners have a lot to live down but they 've done this simply by providing great food, great beer at fair prices in a lovely setting and (major plus coming up) they welcome dogs and we have two of them: large ones. They even realised that the music (the BAIN of most restaurants) was too loud and turned it right down. I 'd love for it to disappear altogether, it detracts from the fo...

I wrote a review over a Month ago after my first vist. Since then l must admit to frequenting the Queens Head for often than her in doors would like!! The Queens Head is infectious, so be warned!! In a good way. Exceptional young staff very efficient, polite and welcoming. I have now eaten here on three occasions now and already booked for futer events, themed evening. My wife and l have very much enjoyed our three meals that we thourerly enjoyed. This included Sunday Lunch and a excellent Fish Night that offered a platter of a selection to Fresh Fish and Sea Food. This is a regular event and is held on the last Friday of each Month. Sorry for my over excitement, visit and you will experienc... View menu

A lovely setting and a good range of dishes to choose from. The main courses were lovely, including the slow cooked beef, chicken supreme and soup. These all tasted great. Nobody in our group of five had any complaints. The location is a lovely setting, with a log burner and contemporary meets traditional ambiance in the bar and restaurant. This was well balanced. I found it to be a tad expensive. Including, £16.50 for a quiche £18.75 for a chicken supreme. I appreciate that prices are more than just the meal themselves, but still when all things are considered, I found that these prices raised expectations too much and led me to cut back on drinks. A few areas which prevented a five star re...

Really disappointing visit. We booked on Friday for 7 people at 6:30pm Saturday evening. I suggested this pub as we came a number of tiles 19 years ago and loved it.We were seated and another table of 9/10 seated after us.They were given priority maybe locals) , we are from Southwold, not seen as locals. We looked at the menu one on the website) and we were really disappointed that the beef dish was all sold out. This is poor organisation on behalf of the management. I heard the young male waiter tell the table of 9 that there were only 4 main menu burgers left and we asked him to book these out for our guests. We then panicked and asked him what else was low and he replied that the beef was ne...

"This wasn’t our first visit (the previous occasion was more positive than this) but this was really quite poor. Problem after problem, service was poor and just not very welcoming. Firstly, drinks weren’t available issues with draft, but then bottles weren’t available either. So there was a very limited selection of drinks on offer and the staff weren’t proactive in advising what was available. So it was request and receive a no! Secondly, the food was poor. The starters were shocking. Really quite bad. There was a bit of redemption from some of the mains, but we elected to not proceed with anything else as it wasn’t great. We had to wait ages for drinks and foods to arrive despite the fact that the restaurant was practically empty and many staff present. Frequently there were 3 staff at the back of the room standing about chatting, but they weren’t attentive to our needs. They didn’t check around the room to see if guests required additional drinks or require plates clearing. They didn’t check to see how the food was and when we complained regarding a starter they simply didn’t know how to handle it. When the draft beer came back on there was no proactive behaviour in returning to the table and letting us know so that more drinks could be ordered. Drinks were poured in wrong glasses, plates were cleared whilst people were still eating and then not cleared when they needed to be! Simply put the staff working had no idea on what table service should be perhaps they had received no training which is a major failing when the restaurant is part of a hotel. It was not welcoming. The restaurant was freezing cold. The service was really very poor and the food disappointing. They also don’t take dogs which in Aldeburgh is a bit weird. There is plenty of space and the tables are large so they would not be in the way. We won’t be returning."
