"I’m willing to spend on a special occasion, but to be charged so much money and be treated so appallingly is unacceptable. I don’t have the energy to detail our terrible experience, but they ruined our dinner with their hostility, rushing us through, and kicked us out while they let everyone else around us (who had been there much longer) eat their meals in peace. They clearly overbooked and thought two young women would be easy to bully out."

"After making a reservation online, the restaurant staff promptly seated us and provided top-notch service with friendly and attentive servers. The food was delectable and beautifully presented, making for an enjoyable dining experience. The cozy and inviting ambiance added to our overall satisfaction, and we would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. Despite a minor mix-up at the beginning, our experience was fantastic."

"The Last Visit. Many moons ago we were big fans of the Battersea branch and frequent, and always satisfied, visitors. However, last night's experience at the larger Balham branch will be our last to either Gazette. In summary, the food continues to be lardy French and delicious but the service and whole experience left a bitter taste in the mouth. This place has set its stall out and for what you're paying, one would expect more. Booked table for 9.15, only to find that table was given away (without apology, just a we didn't know how long your wife was going to be even though they had been told a couple of mins). When a table did free up we were offered a tiny table right by the glass...read more"

"A good gastropub is a fantastic find, and Newman Street Tavern has quickly become my new favorite spot. Located on the corner of Newman Street and Goodge Street, it's perfect for a meal out with friends or a romantic dinner for two. With two floors, it's a stylish, bustling and intimate venue, with a team of welcoming waitstaff who make you feel right at home. The menu is full of tempting appetizers, mains, and desserts, not to mention a selection of sides, Neal's Yard Dairy cheeses, and a seafood menu available all day. We struggled to decide what to order, so we turned to our waiter for recommendations - the choice was just too difficult. The Devon crab salad was a feast for the eyes, with a generous mound of white crab meat surrounded by... (continued on Yelp)"

"The experience is globally very qualitative. I am very pleased with the stay at Bistrot. All inexplicable. Perhaps lacks a little heat the service, which turns out attentive and discreet but a little detached and impersonal. I would like to find a warmer and relaxed style of welcome, a kind of Mandarin Touch that makes the difference and makes guests feel not in a trendy place but in a place of the heart."

"Very disappointed with this place. The service was very slow and all over the place. They looked massively understaffed with only 3 waitresses serving the room from what I could see. That said, the waitress we had was very good but was never going to be able to provide the service you’d expect with a restaurant so busy. One of the main courses arrived 10 minutes after the others (which had to be chased), and they missed part of the order as well which we had to remind them off. Worst of all was the steak tartare. It’s a dish I love and often select this when eating out. I have to say that this was just the worst ever a pile of mush with an awful texture and tasted just as bad. It was as though they had put this in a blender and left it for a few days. I actually started feeling ill a few hours afterwards and didn’t feel right until the following day."

"The lovely team from #edfashionweek invited me and a few of our lovely Edinburgh bloggers to the opening of Edinburgh Fashion Week!! Literally breakfast (obviously after desert) is my favourite meal ever! For even a petite little miss like me breakfast I can eat and finish proudly tehehe the pastry was sooo good! Like a bit of Paris in my plate! Because of my dietary requirements I asked for a veggy roll or salmon roll, I got this mouthwatering mushroom egg muffin, so good! As it was fashion week and I had to act like a classy girl I didn't finish it as too many ppl were watching but still great breakfast and coffee! The service was on top form, the waiter ensures our glasses or cups...read more"

"This restaurant has no right at serving such eloquent dishes at this price range, so masterfully executed, punching so well above their weight just blew us away with the complexity of flavours and combinations a week later we were still talking about the meal. Vegetarian options: The entirely separate vegan options but would be nice to have vegetarian options as vegan options are very restrictive Service: Dine in"

"The restaurant at the airport hotel has a spacious and inviting atmosphere that helps patrons temporarily escape the fact that they are dining at an airport hotel. The food is top-notch and we enjoyed a memorable last dinner together after 10 days of traveling through Italy."

"We were given this as a Christmas gift from sister. Very friendly staff greeting. Service very prompt. Food good, not as hot as it could be. Although described as a "traditional "roast it 's not, as the meats are not from a roasted joint. However, the meat , whatever method it was cooked was very good! Puddings delicious especially the ice-cream, which the waitress said was the chef 's own made!"

"Easy to find, handy parking and great food presented by attentive staff. Much to recommend it always enjoy our visit here. Had a wonderful mushroom risotto for starters, the pheasant main and sticky toffee pudding. Friends had the beef dinner which looked delicious too. Volcanic sized Yorkshire puds though. They also recommended the fish cake starter."

"Me and my husband took our 2 children down The Bull for lunch a few Saturdays ago. Excellent for the kids as have play area, children's booths and had a bouncy castle that particular weekend. Love how accommodating they are for children.... slush puppies, popcorn, mocktails, icecream, fab kids menu etc. We had a nice bit of food too, love the summer grill menu. Place was well maintained and clean. Staff were very friendly. Bit of a wait at the outdoor bar but what do you expect on a Saturday when the weather is lovely! Will be returning soon, thank you for a great afternoon!!!"

"Terrible: Very poor value for money, food was mediocre (some dishes were over salted, some were bland), wine was way overpriced and not very good. There were 5 adults and one child in our party, none of the meals or drinks were interesting or special. Food took a long time, the kids meal arrived 1.5hrs+ after we sat down, we had to ask two times for it since our 4yr old was getting hungry. In the end, it was a plate of sausage and mash and I could have cooked something more interesting and tasty myself, in a fraction of the time. Worst of all was the service. The waiters were pushy, arrogant and not very effective. They spilled the wine down the side of the glass every time they poured it (my wine glass was also dirty when I sat down). They pushed extras and sides, felt like we were getting ripped off all the time. Food took a long time. Over and above this, they were very rude to us and we left feeling that they were trying to create a special restaurant but failing badly at it because the food wasn't very special, the service was terrible and the price was way too high. Very disappointed, would advise you to go elsewhere."

"it is a cozy classic restaurant; six minutes walk from oxford circus. we went there to my friend's birthday. I didn't order any appetizers, but some of the guests did and the dishes looked amazing what made me regret not to order one. from lachs, garnelen to mozzarella, they had a great choice for all tastes. for the main, I ordered the chestnut tortellini, filled with ricotta cheese and pumpkin; it was really good and only £13.50 the service was exceptional as soon as we arrived, we had waiters who took our moms, then fill our jars and refill them as soon as they are empty. at the end we also had problems with the bill, so the waiter was friendly enough...read more"

"the Christmas dinner has enjoyed us very much. for the first time eat in a restaurant for christmas and that supplied. also cocktails were pleasant. the food was enjoyed by all, we ordered various things - everyone remained happy and full. the music selection was perfect that we sing together, also perfect loudness. we asked about the type of caviar, they had no warning, but tried to say they did. would have been better to just say we don't know. more appropriate space between the guests so that we felt comfortable and had space to enjoy private sphere while in a common environment. would definitely be rebooking. might have listed the circumcisions for the most important courses on the Christmas menu before they were different depending on the meat they ordered, but was a beautiful surprise and delicious both."

"I was seated in a cramped corner, and it took some time for someone to come to our table. I had made a reservation a month in advance and expected a decent table. Justifying the poor seating by saying it was Valentine's Day doesn't sit well with me. The food was overpriced for pub fare, and the pictures online made it seem better than it actually was. I won't be returning."

"My wife and I have been to the County Kitchen a few times for their Sunday Carvery. So why, you may ask have I only given the County Kitchen 3 stars and entitled my review as lacks consistency? Well the title does say it all, it isn 't that the food and service and surroundings are bad its just that as a complete package it...........lacks consistency. Perhaps I should explain rather than repeating myself Our table was crammed in with others in the small conservatory/veranda area. It felt cramped as we were against a pillar and so close to at least 6 other diners that it felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming, especially as the rest of the restaurant was empty. Moving on to our food. We opted for starters, followed by the carvery. My wife 's starter crab haddock fishcake, with chive hollandaise was presented nicely and according to her very nice but lacked flavour . Mine was pork belly terrine and chutney my comments mirror those of my wife 's. Lacked seasoning and flavour, but looked nice. I echo Greg Wallace 's thoughts on Masterchef the other day..... ...would rather have something that tastes good rather than a dish that just looks pretty... Now the carvery you have a choice of at 3 roast meats plus vegetables and if you feeling really hungry there isn 't a limit to the number of times you can go back. But for most appetites 1 visit is enough. Being a little greedy I had a couple of slices of port with yummily crisp crackling) and some beef. The carver described the beef as medium rare my preference) but it was more like medium to well done so it was a bit tough and chewy shame as it looked a fantastic joint of beef). That finally put an end to our meal, we paid our bill £59.95 incl bottle of wine, and starters) and left. I have to say that this hasn 't been our experience on other occasions, so perhaps its was just an off day. Will we go back? Probably, but we won 't be rushing back. Its not a bad place, it just.....lacks consistency!"

"Had a really lovely evening here last night, the food delicious and reasonably priced. The wine was quite expensive so we opted for the ‘house red’ which was absolutely fine for us. The staff were attentive, but not intrusive, the ambience of the restaurant was warm and inviting. I would definitely recommend, and will be going back for sure."

"If I could score 0 I would. I booked a table using the website service for 11am. Luckily we arrived early to sit outside for a coffee at 10:30 we told the server we had a table booked which he acknowledged. After serving our drinks he came back and said if you want food the kitchen closes at 11 so you need to order now. He then argued with me that I wouldn’t have been able to book a table via any app at all even though I had email proof. We moved inside and waited 20 mins for home to come back and take our orders. He forgot drinks and got some of our orders wrong as well. The saga continued with under cooked poached eggs which one server argued about with us. Saying chef says they are cooked. You don’t want poached you want hard boiled. No we wanted slightly longer cooked poached eggs that didn’t have slimy white in them. We also had egg shells in our omelette which put us off eating the rest of it. Pretty much all of the food arrived cold as well. All we wanted was a peaceful brunch and it turnt into a bit of a fiasco with really poor service and bad quality food. I choose this restaurant because it looked special but I would not recommend it after experiencing it and I will not be returning after being very disappointed as I had such high hopes for a lovely time. We were not rude but we’re treated like we were idiots for expecting a certain level of service that was sadly lacking."
