"Disappointing, especially for the price. We arrived for a booking on time only to be told after chasing staff that our table wasn't ready. After standing around for approximately 20mins, we had to follow up with the staff again only to be told it would be another minute. We weren't the only ones waiting around, there were quite a few others. Some of the staff appeared dismissive but others were polite and apologetic. The food was average but the setting was nice."

"Great choice for a date night or birthday treat! Convenient location, set menus as well as a la carte, friendly attentive staff and relaxed atmosphere, what more could you want! I took my partner here for a brunch treat and had planned it completely forgetting that it was Mother's day weekend (oops). This meant that brunch was set menu only, but this wasn't a problem as the set menu was quite extensive and had all the dishes we wanted anyway! The only difference was that the prices had been marked up by about 8 pounds per person. Despite this, I still feel it was a good deal for three very well executed courses that tasted as good as they looked. I had the goats cheese and black olive tart, the black truffle risotto and the green apple parfait. Each one was delicious and the green apple parfait is coated in green coloured white chocolate and designed to actually look like an apple on a plate. Amazing! I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!"

"This restaurant was extremely loud for the price you pay. It was difficult to have a conversation because the tables were too close together. When paying a premium for a meal, I expect better ambiance. The service was subpar, with the staff appearing stressed or indifferent. I had to flag down the waiter to place my order, as he left before I could order my side dish. However, the food was of good quality, so credit to the chef for that."

"After making a reservation online, the restaurant staff promptly seated us and provided top-notch service with friendly and attentive servers. The food was delectable and beautifully presented, making for an enjoyable dining experience. "The Last Visit. Many moons ago we were big fans of the Battersea branch and frequent, and always satisfied, visitors. However, last night's experience at the larger Balham branch will be our last to either Gazette. In summary, the food continues to be lardy French and delicious but the service and whole experience left a bitter taste in the mouth. This place has set its stall out and for what you're paying, one would expect more. Booked table for 9.15, only to find that table was given away (without apology, just a we didn't know how long your wife was going to be even though they had been told a couple of mins). "our breakfast was bad! my man ordered the filled banana-french toast. what he served was burned two halves, and very hard to chew French toast. a half of the toast had a small disc muddy pampered banane (so he did not end up eating part of the French toast to become sick) and another half of the French toast had no banana! my egg beedict was such a small part, half an English muffin and 2 small eggs. one was cooked and the other was runny (as should be an eier benedict.) I would like to point out, however, that the prices for the right prices for lidon, which are not acceptable to these Scottish foods. with two coffees, our bill was just over £30... a complete and total waste of money! the waitress had no idea of the food they served, we were shocked when our food arrived because it looked like we had ordered nothing. So we asked the staff if it was the right order, and they didn't know. So they took our food back to the kitchen and brought us the same food again. then another employee came to our table, looked at the food, asked for our food to take back to the kitchen and brought the same back to us! I don't want to say anything. avoid this restaurant."

"A good gastropub is a fantastic find, and Newman Street Tavern has quickly become my new favorite spot. "It is a well laid out restaurant which is fresh and bright and in general does carry a good atmosphere. However, the food did let it down for me. Not much choice for gluten free, and when I did ask for the yogurt and berries with the nuts, grains and seeds, I received a very small amount of yogurt, and was informed that there weren't many berries as they had almost run out. I also got honey at a request. It was nice but such a small amount that it was a bit disappointing. Service was okay. Everyone else seemed okay with what they had."

"This was the best overall experience I've ever had at a Michelin-starred restaurant (although it was only my third). The staff worked seamlessly as a team to ensure that we were taken care of throughout the entire meal. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere was lively, and we felt very comfortable all night. There is no official dress code, but you may feel out of place if you show up in board shorts and a tank top. We each enjoyed a five-course meal (you can choose between 3-6 courses) and a couple of bottles of wine, which came out to about $700CAD and lasted about 2.5 hours. It was definitely worth the experience and the amazing food."

"Business lunch for four, recommended by a colleague who loves the place.Location is great and the conservatory style dining area is really nice. Tables are well spaced out and the overall effect is really calm and peaceful.Only one other table being used, so the service was quick as you would expect. Bread and olives to share were delicious, really nice, mains ordered 2 tuna and 2 salads. The tuna steak was exceptional, beautifully cooked, delicious. Everyone in the group well satisfied with their food.They desserts were good, but not up to the standard of the starters. Decent priced bottle of wine, some coffees and everyone was happy.It’s a little lifeless, I’m sure some days it must be busier which would create more of a buzz. Prices aren’t bad, given it’s location, service and food are good. Would definitely go again, and just to make sure we do, the restaurant have a loyalty card scheme which we signed up to. Covers a few different restaurants (including Ginos and Piccolinos) and you get £20 for joining! Not bad"

"this review focuses on takeaway . first the online order was very easy. the restaurant is very beautifully designed. simple and modern decorations. wide and spacious. the cook in an open area where the customers can see them, a very beautiful thing in my sight. the cooking area ia clean and organized. I was greeted by one of the employees, she told me to wait a few minutes until my order is finished. the only thing I didn't like is that I saw two crates ready, but it took them about 5 to 8 minutes to tell me they were for me, and I wasn't able to talk to one of the workers to ask them because they were all busy. I ordered bufala margerita and cheese garlic bread. as far as taste is concerned, the pizza is very tasty, the teig is simply perfect and the toppings are mouthwater. the garlic bread is okay."

"Very disappointed with this place. The service was very slow and all over the place. They looked massively understaffed with only 3 waitresses serving the room from what I could see. That said, the waitress we had was very good but was never going to be able to provide the service you’d expect with a restaurant so busy. One of the main courses arrived 10 minutes after the others (which had to be chased), and they missed part of the order as well which we had to remind them off. Worst of all was the steak tartare. It’s a dish I love and often select this when eating out. I have to say that this was just the worst ever a pile of mush with an awful texture and tasted just as bad. It was as though they had put this in a blender and left it for a few days. I actually started feeling ill a few hours afterwards and didn’t feel right until the following day."

"The food at this restaurant is delicious and reasonably priced. I recommend checking out the offers section on the Frankie and Benny's website, where I found a £10 off voucher. The quality of the food here is similar to that of Bella Italia, but I personally prefer Ask when comparing big chain restaurants.
