"A good gastropub is a fantastic find, and Newman Street Tavern has quickly become my new favorite spot. Located on the corner of Newman Street and Goodge Street, it's perfect for a meal out with friends or a romantic dinner for two. With two floors, it's a stylish, bustling and intimate venue, with a team of welcoming waitstaff who make you feel right at home. The menu is full of tempting appetizers, mains, and desserts, not to mention a selection of sides, Neal's Yard Dairy cheeses, and a seafood menu available all day. We struggled to decide what to order, so we turned to our waiter for recommendations - the choice was just too difficult. The Devon crab salad was a feast for the eyes, with a generous mound of white crab meat surrounded by... (continued on Yelp)"

I had a wonderful Sunday dinner at a lovely pub located near Oxford Street. The decor was beautiful and traditional. I ordered the beef brisket and it was delicious and very filling. For dessert, I tried the sticky toffee pudding, which was also delicious. The prices were reasonable considering the area, and the wine selection was great.

Original Beans. If you haven't heard of them yet, you will. And where else can you actually order a bar of chocolate at a restaurant. It's like they've read my mind. And the mousse. Not just mousse. Chocolate ice-cream, chocolate mousse and chocolate and nut brittle. I risked major dental work biting into that, but it was worth it. I fell silent. It was that good.

it is always a regrettable situation if the service lets you give up an otherwise perfect fine dining place. We have recently experienced a case in which we have been confronted with this situation. while eating in the newman street tavern was good and sometimes tasty the service was disappointing. sashimi, salted geeseberry sashimi, salted geeseberry lobster roll crab salat newman street tavern is a restaurant that focuses primarily on British dishes on seafood. the restaurant recently opened its doors for publicity in a counter that is saturated with some good restaurants (dink roka, salt yard, lima and pied a terre just...read more

Located in the heart of Fitzrovia, Newman Street Tavern is a two-story restaurant with a lively bar and casual dining area on the ground floor, and a more intimate setting with scattered seating on the top floor. The kitchen serves Moorish British cuisine using fresh, local ingredients from breakfast to dinner. After visiting the nearby British Museum, we decided to have dinner at Newman Street Tavern. The menu focuses on fresh seafood but also offers plenty of meat and vegetarian options. We shared three dishes among us, including the shellfish plate, steak tartare, and boiled egg with crushed potatoes. We were impressed with the quality and flavors of each dish. View menu

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
