"A good gastropub is a fantastic find, and Newman Street Tavern has quickly become my new favorite spot. Located on the corner of Newman Street and Goodge Street, it's perfect for a meal out with friends or a romantic dinner for two. With two floors, it's a stylish, bustling and intimate venue, with a team of welcoming waitstaff who make you feel right at home. The menu is full of tempting appetizers, mains, and desserts, not to mention a selection of sides, Neal's Yard Dairy cheeses, and a seafood menu available all day. We struggled to decide what to order, so we turned to our waiter for recommendations - the choice was just too difficult. The Devon crab salad was a feast for the eyes, with a generous mound of white crab meat surrounded by... (continued on Yelp)"

"This was the most recommended place for afternoon tea from our London locals that we know- and it certainly lived up to our expectations for the experience. The Wolseley is known for its afternoon tea and overall environment it eludes. We were greeted by a doorwoman who directed us to the hostess and we were promptly seated for our reservation. The service was quick and for tea was wonderful. Overall the sandwiches and biscuits were good, however, I was not necessarily a fan of the desserts. I will say they are very accommodating with allergies and that was very nice. Afternoon tea per person costs around 44.95 euros and it comes with a tea pot of tea with your choice and a tower with hand sandwiches, 3 biscuits, and a variety of pastries/desserts."

"Angelina provided us with exceptional service. She was not only charming and courteous, but she also made sure our drinks were always replenished and accommodated all our requests promptly. We are grateful for all her efforts. Thank you, Angelina!"

"Food was fine but otherwise not great, sadly. No record of our booking despite text confirmation reply the day before and reception made it sound like they were doing us a favour when they found us a table. Two main dishes sold out even though only 1pm. Almonds ordered with champagne on arrival didn 't arrive although very nice waiter did bring us some olives as an apology. Manager then asked if we would consider moving tables midway after we had started our lunch to allow them to join our table for two to the one next in order to make a bigger table. We were also badgered to order by various different waiters even though we had already ordered. Our 'main ' waiter was friendly and did his best but the whole thing was pretty average (for it 's price). The restaurant is also very noisy (which to be fair, I knew from previous visits). The Botanist used to be quite stylish both food and ambience wise but this seems to have changed maybe new owners? Tbh I only went because Colbert (over the road) was fully booked."

"My wife and I are from USA, and we were visiting London for our baby moon. One of the activities we knew we wanted to do was afternoon tea. After a lot of research, we decided on the English Tea Room, and we were so glad with our choice! We had a spectacular time. We loved all the sandwiches. My favorite was the prawn mini bagel, and my wife loved the prosciutto mini bagel. There was a good amount of variety in the savory items The tea was exquisite. My wife and I drink tea regularly, and we were incredibly impressed with the tea selection and the tea quality. I opted for one of the English teas first and then an oolong tea. My wife chose two herbal teas. They paired very well with all the food The scones and desserts were absolutely delicious, too. I'd say the scones were some of the best I'd ever had. Were they mind-blowing? No, but they were delicate and fluffy. The raspberry tart was my favorite dessert with the yuzu cake coming in second. Again, there was a good amount of variety of tastes. It was fantastic that we could get an unlimited amount of refills. Of course this was all within the time limit If my wife and I visit London again, we'd absolutely go to the English Tea Room for high tea again!"

"This was my third visit and I loved it. They have the best brunch menu with breakfast and lunch choices and the waiters top your prosecco glass up very frequently! The service is great. Also, I love that it’s three courses as you feel it is good value for money and like a proper meal. One tip-lose the blue macaroon! :o)"

"The person working behind the counter was friendly and patient as I decided on a smoothie to order. I had a lot of questions and he was very helpful. The green smoothie (had parsley, mint, spinach, kale, oats, and more) was well balanced and surprisingly good. My husband got the smoothie with spinach, mango, banana, and more was really good as well. I had a vegan croissant and it was the best croissant I’ve ever had. The outside was perfectly crisp without being overly flaky. The inside was fluffy and a delicate to eat.my husband got a falafel sandwich (had cheese on it) and he said it was the best meal he had on our London holiday. We went to the location in Stratford and will go back if we are ever in London again."

"I am exploring the North Passport and Byfords didn't disappoint. Very nice shop and place to eat with great menu selection. Not many places do Kippers and I was craving for one for a long time, so I went for it. Very good portion and very well cooked. Just a shame I couldn't swap my toast for sourdough even if I had to pay extra. The building inside is beautiful. Make sure to read the information boards or y will enter the building from thee wrong door. Parking can be a challenge if its busy and you don't know the area. I know at least two near by (something like less than £5 for 3h) but just need to drive carefully There is a few outside tables near the main road. If you subscribe for free on Norfolk Passport there is food drinks discount."

"This is the 2nd time this year that I’ve been to krewe, and it exceeds standards each time. Today we didn’t have a booking but there wasn’t a long wait. We’ve had the same server each time, didn’t catch her name but she’s super friendly and helpful. We also arrived at the time when they were switching from brunch to dinner; so we were told it might take a couple minutes longer for the grub. This wasn’t an issue at all because servers are so fast and great at checking in on the guests. Will definitely be back "

"So my friends I arrived around midday for brunch. We had to wait for a waiter to greet us which was absolutely fine. We requested a table outside for 3 customers. There were 2 tables for 2 customers each available next to each other, but we’re told there was no space outside no reserved indications on either table) The waiter said there wasn’t a table outside for 3 of us, but said we could sit inside. He gave us no eye contact no consideration for the fact we had heavy suitcases with us. We were told to sit inside. We did this were handed menus. Again, no eye contact or personal engagement , but we had plenty of flies inside for company . We waited 10 minutes, no waiter attended to us. No communication, nothing. We left at this point as we did not feel welcome or valued as customers. Such a shame, the menu looked amazing, but the staff appeared inexperienced entirely disinterested in the customers. Note to management: your staff are in dire need of customer service training."

"Famous for its all-day breakfasts, I was delighted to be invited to this restaurant by a friend. We visited on a Sunday and it was packed. We managed to snag the last available table and noticed that others had to wait for at least thirty minutes to be seated. A quick glance at the menu revealed that they offer a unique twist on classic breakfast dishes. Personally, I appreciate the variety as I often find myself bored with the same options on every breakfast/brunch menu in town."

"The service is good not polished (they are learning) but willing, helpful and friendly. The food is better than the average restaurant thoughtful menu with unfamiliar combinations served attractively and tasting good. More adventurous than usual (as you might expect from a catering college) and it brings it off. I thought it risky to offer battered fish (such an everyday dish) until I tasted it the batter was extraordinary and the fish right. What did surprise me was that there were only 3 tables occupied at 7pm on a Thursday I would have thought that it would be booked out especially at the prices charged (low side of average). Oh Well, such is Sunderland, and I shall go back regularly."

"Terrible sandwiches, average salmon salad and the famous ‘Rome’ coffee was no better than Paul’s down the road. We were’t even given a plate to eat the sandwiches on. No cleaning of tables in between customers. No calorie count on the food products for those who are keeping track (we are not but the shop looks like it appeals to the healthy type) Staff nice but the product seriously needa improvement."

"This is an excellent museum that covers how the things we use were designed, and the evolution in the design of items from early versions to the present day. It was great to see some of the old tech from our past! The building itself is a work of art once you are inside. It took us around 1.5-2 hours to make our way around. It's mostly on one floor and not that large but there is a lot to see. The exhibits have a fair amount of text associated with them. So I would not say this is the best place for very young children. There are other exhibits on which may have a cost. When we went, there was a free exhibit on the technology that could help us as we get older which was thought provoking. There are lockers, water fountains, toilets, coffee shop, and the most expensive gift shop I have seen for some time. Very different things in it from the norm, but even still it felt expensive. I recommend a visit to the next door holland park which was very enjoyable. The museum is definitely worth a visit."

"Nice decor and feel to the place. Nice friendly staff and accommodating when we wanted to move our coats from next to the grill. Sri Lankan chef had residency for a couple of weeks and had lovely influence in the dishes. Lentil and carrot fritters were amazing, but the octopus was a let down, as was the bread. Sea Bass main was great, with a lovely chickpea base. The jackfruit croquette was amazing. The cardamon custard tart was more scrambled eggs unfortunately. Nice wine recommendations. I thought the whole experience and concept was great and will definitely go again."

"This was a last minute booking so didn't have time to research other reviews, but I wish I did. The food was awful! Had to send back the cod fish balls due to one being cremated. We were met with disdain when explaining that we could not eat it. The goat was tough and undercooked with no gravy it was basically soup. The service was awful apart from the bartender. We walked out feeling robbed as the prices are astronomical compared to the portion sizes and quality. Will never return"

"today my daughter and I first visited bonbon for a brunch. the waitress, larissa was so sweet and welcoming. I can be quite fussy and she knew the menu inside and outside and made some great recommendations that proved to be perfect for us. nothing was too much annoyed. eating was absolutely beautiful. I had this banana bread sandwich, slightly grilled with fresh berries and mascarpone and my daughter had a ei and speck bagle. it was an absolute joy. our dog was made very welcome and Covid rules were thoroughly present, but not intrusive in anyway. it all came on time, and small things like the order to take and let us pay, all were done in a time-efficient way that I appreciated. a perfect visit."
