"There are two Head Of Steam Pubs in Newcastle, one down Quayside and this outlet on Neville Street ,we visited both and I thought this one was the best even though their other outlet is brilliant. Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here, the interior is superb, wood panelled walls,a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, tv's to enjoy the sport, eclectic decor and furnishings, nice wall art and there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its a very cool Head Of Steam Pub outlet. We were here on a Friday, we had just had a great day/ night out in Durham visiting the great pubs in that beautiful town ,we arrived here well after midnight and this pub was packed with a great atmosphere, a quick study of their beer range and we both opted to have a pale ale each, these were served in pristine condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and soaked up the great atmosphere in this busy and popular pub. The pale ale served in here was spot on, a well balanced pale ale, hints of citrus, a big hit of hops, very pleasant on the tongue, so easy to drink, a totally refreshing brew on a hot night, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew and soaking up the great vibe in this pub. We ended up staying here for a couple of hours ,we enjoyed another pale ale each and a nice German beer that was out of this world, we couldn't fault anything about our visit here, great staff, wonderful pub and a great range of well kept beers, when we are back in Newcastle again its a pub we will most definitely revisit This Head Of Steam Pub is easy to locate along Neville Street facing Newcastle Central Station. Opening hours are; Monday Tuesday, Closed. Wednesday Thursday, 5pm till 2am. Friday Saturday, Midday till 3am. Sunday, 5pm till 2am. A wonderful Head Of Steam Pub, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area."

"Without a shadow of a doubt one of my favourite pubs to visit on any holiday I take to York is The Slip Inn Pub,an authentic back street boozer oozing old world charm, its a pub that always has a great selection of real ale's and cider's served by staff who know how to keep a good beer or cider and are very knowledgeable about their drinks on offer. I personally love the look of this multi roomed pub, each room has it's own distinctive character, vintage advertising enamels and posters adorning the walls, all manner of bric a brac are to be found throughout this pub, great decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar and there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside in their beer garden ,one previous reviewer seemed to have issues with smokers using the beer garden to enjoy a smoke ,I find this statement do selfish, were are smokers supposed to go ,cant smoke inside, I am a none smoker but everyone has the right to smoke outdoors, the reviewer states the smoking ban has worked so well ,if so why are so many pubs still closing, pubs are being made to conform to rules set out to appease the once a year drinkers who stand on the moral high ground of being a none smoker and object to smokers enjoying a smoke while enjoying a beer, rant over, let's get back to the pub and my real ale. My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Friday evening, pub was busy with a great atmosphere, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff who served us a pale ale each, these were served in excellent condition ,we luckily managed to get a table were we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. When pubs are busy like this ,its such a joy sipping a quality real ale and soaking up the vibe ,my pale ale was outstanding, a rich, crisp classic pale ale with a bit hit of hops, really tasty, very easy to drink indeed. We both really enjoyed our real ales in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Slip Inn Pub is easy to locate along Clementhorpe. Opening hours are; Monday to Wednesday, 4pm till 11.30pm. Thursday, 4pm till 1am. Friday Saturday, 3pm till 1am. Sunday, 3pm till 11pm. A wonderful freehouse pub, most definitely well worth checking out if your in the area."
