"You can’t deny that Central London has a certain buzz to it! We visited Ali Ocakbasi, a fantastic Turkish Restaurant in Leicester Square and dined alfresco on a warm evening. The staff were super friendly from the outset and there was a lively and relaxed atmosphere. There is a whole host of amazing dishes on the menu focusing on traditional Turkish feasts. You can choose main dishes from the grill or oven or, like us, choose several starter dishes as mezzes. There are 14 cold starters and 5 hot starters so plenty of variety and choice. We paired our mezzes with a glass of Turkish red wine each Buzbag, Anatolia, Turkey £7.75 glass/£39 bottle). It was a warming wine, yet light and crisp with deep fruity notes. We had the following Cold Mezzes all priced at £6.40: Beyaz Peynir – Traditional Anotilan white cheese Acili Yogurt – Homemade yoghurt served with chili red pepper slices on top Kopoglu – Small cubes of fried eggplant, potatoes and green capsicum pepper) served with special tomato puree and yoghurt on top Muhammara – Traditional spicy paste prepared with crushed walnuts, twice-baked bread, tahini, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice Kisir – Special bulghur salad mix with Anatolian spices and vegetables Turkish restaurant in Leicester Square We opted for the following Hot Mezzes: Semsek – Traditional pidette with cheese £3.80) Sigara Boregi – Deep fried pastry rolls, filled with cheese and parsley £6.40) Sicak Hummus – Warm homemade hummus served plain or with your topping of pastrami, Anatolian sausage or both £8.40-£10.90) As you can see we had 8 mezzes between the two of us and this was absolutely plenty. Each dish was pretty much perfect – amazing colours, great levels of spiciness. We were impressed by the quality and flavour of every dish and all had something different to offer the palate. This is just such a stunning Turkish restaurant in Leicester Square. In such a busy part of London you really do get the best of both worlds here – the tranquility of exquisite dining whilst watching the hustle and bustle of the busy tourist hub. There was amazing hospitality, something we saw them deliver to every customer which makes all the difference. A thoroughly recommended restaurant."

"I am here at the slim party with my children personally think that the slim ladies need more personal, as there are many children, but only a few of them, but the staff here serve are great really friendly help full, meet and greet everyone who in and nothing seems much angry for them. I would really recommend this place based on the friendly staff, but I did not try to eat personally, but everyone here seems to enjoy it and it looks all very beautiful and well presented. this is a great idea when the children had more employees with them to have the superb something to eat, but they didn't have to do so much of the superb and help our children are a little older and we have made slim to house before we just continue to check them were in order and had everything they needed. I would like to add that my children had chicken and chips there. the chicken was freshly baked as I would do to house and the chips was nice and cooked in clean oil as I had a few of them, I can comment that for me the venue and the event staff made it a nice day, but the ladies who needed to run the slime 1 or 2 more staff and they sort them themselves better, but if I did 5 minutes before and did not go park. then she asked my wife if the children were ready as if they were going to the kitchen and checking. not enough time spent with the children, but with all that said they were going over by 30 minutes, but I think this is due to organization."

"lokkanta serves Turkish food, but more along the street food sorte. do not misunderstand what they do, they do quite well, but do not even expect a chic Turkish meal here. what is available is similar to what they can see on a Lebanese menu with different names and spicy. they do a lot of grilled meat and donators (think shawarma) we got a plate of meze hummus, a yogurt dip, tomato-based salsa and some well maintained sweet salad with thin strips of lavender as brot free while we waited for our food. the lammbarsch was a beautiful, mildly flavored meat in a beautiful crumb outside the bakery pack. think about it as a cross between a samosa and an early role. for the net I ordered the lamm iskander kebab doner / shawarma slices lamb on a bed of crisp fried brot squares with tomato sauce and beautiful thick yogurt and a side offer of garlic sauce and her clobular chili sauce. bruder ordered the lamming aprons that came with a small side salad on a bed of larger korn cousin. he loved the aromen. I ordered Turkish tee, which served as only black tee (no minze, no apple taste only in a traditional Turkish shaped tea glass) bruder had the ayran (yoghurt drink), which was prepacked, but he found it very refreshing. service was very sweet and friendly. the staff always smiled slightly. they know the menu and can help them meet a choice when they need it. we were quite filled with this meal, but had to end with baklava. their baked layers are much thinner than most baklava, which I have tried in this city almost filmy, not too too too zucker. Personally, I like a bit more crunchy of the nuts in my baklava, but that was a more refined version and therefore the nuts were really finely crushed. we also have 2 pieces lokum (Turkish joy) free with our bill and it was so good that next time I order the lokum instead of the baklava."

"For Spanish speakers (my usual audience): I came with a friend and we both ordered the Shawarma Mix w Fries. First of all, clarify that this is my opinion and for others it may be different. As always I will divide this review into three parts which are Local, Service and Food. Starting with the place, it is a cozy place, the music is very pleasant to the ear, colorful decoration and a good display of the food at the counter. It must be said that the bathroom was, like every classic Kebab place, dirty like the Barcelona metro. Moving on to service, there was a very friendly and helpful waitress and one of the cooks was very attentive. On the other hand, the boy who served us when we ordered the food was quite hesitant and even seemed a bit dismissive to me. I gave it 3 stars because the others were friendly and I don't want the place to be belittled because of one person. Lastly, the food was good. I don't fully understand why they advertise Shawarma as with kebab meat, but hey, I'm not going to ask them for a master's degree because after all we are in London. The meat was still good although it lacked flavor. The salad was probably the best, you could tell it was fresh and well cut. The bread, on the other hand, was lightly toasted and this was noticeable since in the end it fell apart easily. This is painful for Durum and Shawarma lovers. The potatoes were from a bag but at least they had a good level of crunchiness and the yogurt sauce maintains a touch of mint that is pleasant at first but that I hated in the end. Despite that, I have to say that the size of the medium shawarma is enough, the large one is not necessary (coming from someone who eats a lot). In conclusion, the place is very expensive for what it is, although I understand it because at the end of the day we are in Camden, a tourist place where we are the victims. Thank you so much."
