"A perfect place to stop for a pint or two and maybe some food. The location is great and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The have a few TVs so you can watch the football etc which is good. Ordered some pork scratching and they were probably some of the best I'd ever had until the hairiest one in the world came out the bag couldn't bring myself to eat it. A great place, I'll definitely come back again"

"Such a lovely place and nice and chilled. All the staff are lovely and kind even the doormen. Hayley so lovely and kind and even got me out when I got locked in the toilet once lol. Kenny a very funny person and also very kind. Dan very nice person, always gives me my favourite glass when I get a drink! Dave such a nice person, know him very well and knows my usual drink! Beth new to the place however is great at table service making sure we’ve got everything we need. Will and Emma lovely people, don’t see them much on the weekend but still kind. Josh great at having a conversation with. All together such a great team, good selection of beers, spirits, shots, wines, whiskeys and lager! Even nice selection of soft drinks and crisps. The food is outstanding, good prices and good quality! Slot machines, charging facilities for mobile phones, pool table and good music! Live sports played daily for everyone to enjoy. Couldn’t ever fault them. Definitely a place to come with family, friends or even by yourself!"

"What has gone wrong with the Lawnswood? 6 of us visited and pretty much all the food was absolutely awful. We have been regular visitors for many years so we know what to expect. We had family visiting and thought this to be a good venue as it usually offered tasty food at a good price. I ordered a burger meal deal (which I had experienced before and it was good) expecting succulent burgers with a generous topping and well cooked, seasoned fries. What I got was something clearly shoved in a microwave far beyond its time and a topping of Korean sauce and fried onions that you would need an optical device to see!! 2 of our guests asked for soda with a cordial (on a meal deal with a drink) and were charged a pound for this even though they were entitled to a free “soft drink” in the price!!! On questioning, the staff just apologised and said that was the policy. They have lost regular customers and many more as we have recommended this pub many, many times in the past but no more! Will not be visiting again and will not be recommending to anyone! Simply the worse food experience we have had for a very very long time and the worst ever experienced here shame on you Lawnswood. Try somewhere else!"

"I went to this restaurant for lunch yesterday and was astonished by the new prices! £15.95 for a burger is outrageous. It seems like they are trying to position themselves as a fine dining establishment now. The prices have increased across the board, but the restaurant still has a long way to go in terms of justifying these new prices. The decor and furniture are in desperate need of an update, which may explain why the place was empty. After having one drink, I decided to go to the Horse and Jockey instead, where the atmosphere and prices were much better. The food there was also good. I used to enjoy the food at the Oak, but I won't be spending my hard-earned money there until they can justify their inflated prices with a better dining experience."

"This is my friend's favorite neighborhood pub that he enjoys for its affordable beer. A pint costs just over 3 pounds, making it a great deal. It may not be a fancy upscale spot, but it's a great place to grab a drink."

"I attended a drag themed bottomless brunch where I paid for both food and drinks. Unfortunately, no food ever arrived despite multiple inquiries. The chef was reportedly rude and told the waiter to leave each time we asked about our order. We waited for food from 1:30 until 4:30 in a cramped booth meant for 8 people but stuffed with 10 hungry ladies. The drag acts had to navigate stairs to interact with everyone due to the venue's multiple levels, making it challenging to enjoy both food and entertainment simultaneously. The Brunch Club has yet to provide a refund for the unsatisfactory experience. I would not recommend this venue due to poor service, overselling, and failure to deliver on orders. I do not plan on returning."

"Took family here for lunch today and was very disappointed. Having been to the Hunters Lodge prior to their refurbishment we loved the food and the menu. However the menu has since changed and seems more limited with a few favourites now missing (katsu chicken). Having been told that this pub was 'dog friendly ' by others we found this not to be the case. I entered and asked about where we could sit with out dogs and was told that the only places to take dogs was outside or in the small function room which was unusable as there were no tables or chairs set up! Ended up sitting outside, to the dissatisfaction of my guests due to weather (we have an elderly dog that struggles in the heat). When ordering food we were told they had no seasonal veg leaving one unhappy mother in law! I had ordered cod and chips and asked for beans instead of peas to which we were told that 'the chefs don 't like to substitute ' so had to remove the peas and then Pay Extra for beans! Outrageous! When the meals arrived my cod was on paper which when eating was dissolving and ended up with a piece in my mouth so had to remove the paper from the plate (silly idea). There were also hardly and chips with this meal. Beans were dry. Overall quite disappointed, especially after having a few good meals here previously. Hopefully The Hunters Lodge will take others comments on board. Unsure about a revist."

"This pub has undergone an amazing transformation! We are thrilled with the positive changes. We've been visiting this establishment for 16 years, and it's wonderful to be able to have dinner after 8 PM. The food is fantastic—so delicious and beautifully presented by the Italian chef. We truly felt like VIPs! A huge thank you for the fantastic service from Solomon! He provided us with an excellent selection of food and drinks and even offered us an extra dish that we thoroughly enjoyed! Overall, it was a lovely experience, especially for my Ukrainian friends. Thank you!"

"A group of 12 of us reserved a table to watch the football, and we had a fantastic afternoon enjoying both the sports and our lunch and drinks. The service was outstanding throughout, both during the game and while dining. The table reservation process was quick and efficient, and any requests we had were addressed promptly and effectively. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience and the excellent service provided by the staff and management. I highly recommend visiting this well-managed establishment."

"My friend ordered the four-times soy burger with Violife cheese slices, and I had the meat-free tikka masala. Both dishes were absolutely delightful! I had to check three times to make sure mine was vegan because it tasted and looked so similar to chicken—it was both a blessing and a curse. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick. There was a good selection of vegan options available, and it was great to see vegan dessert choices as well. The atmosphere was a step up from a Wetherspoons, with nice music playing and beautiful decorations throughout."

"As you'd expect very busy and unplanned/unbooked visitors to restaurant and pub at this time of year. Staff coped with this extremely well. Slightly disappointed that some items not available on menu but like I said this is due to the time of year. Staff always very accommodating and very friendly. This was never communicated to us, so it left us wondering how we were supposed to know. As a result, we could only choose from the standard menu, which was disappointing.
