"Visited today intending to have lunch. It wasn’t initially very busy. Twice we asked a waitress if we could order food. The first time we were told she would get our drinks then return to take our food order. When the drinks arrived we again asked if we could place our order. She said she would go get a note pad pen. She didn’t return. Soon after that a large group of walkers arrived. Most went into the pub to get drinks before sitting down outside. Very soon a waitress appeared proceeded to take their food orders. Seeing this we decided not to order food as we would have a very long time to wait while their food was prepared! We often have lunch here after a dog walk have always found it very friendly were intending to return next week for lunch with a friend but are now going to try to find an alternative venue. Shame!"

"Can not recommend enough !!!! Spent an evening at the dining room with some colleagues earlier this week and found the whole experience to be fab!! Excellent food, a great selection of wines and just the best service ever Chloe and Emma were fabulous and really went out of their way to ensure we had an amazing evening. Will definitely go back any time I'm near Derby"

"The restaurant has a cozy garden in the back that is perfect for relaxing. The place is equipped with multiple TVs showing various sports, although this can sometimes be distracting. It caters to a budget-friendly crowd, offering a selection of beers and wines. The decor is clean but lacks character, with a bland and gray color scheme that doesn't quite match its historical status as a pub. The food is tasty, and the new chef is working hard to bring new and exciting items to the menu. Overall, it's a decent pub that I would definitely revisit, and with some improvements, it has the potential to become even better."
