"We visited on Saturday, the night before the marathon. We booked a table. Came in, seen it was busy, so thought this is going to be good. We were seated late which was fine, no problem. We sat next to another couple, (tables were close) we ordered some drinks then our meal. Drinks arrived on our table, weren’t ours, it was the next table. We waited an hour for our starters, tables were coming in and getting served. A table of 6/8 came in and got their starter and mains before us. There was a lot of cross words at the boy in the hair band which I thought he was doing all the work and was very kind if I am honest. Garlic bread came was so dry. They kept going by saying have you eaten? Have you ordered? Have you had mains? Our mains came out an hour later and they didn’t know who it was for. The table next to us actually had to point out it was our food they heard our order. Being a restaurant manager I would like to say… 1. Don’t argue or talk to staff badly, anywhere, but especially not on the floor, I actually think it was maybe husband and wife, it’s not good in front of customers and I know it’s hard and frustrating work, but I don’t even think any of the customers were being rude, the people I heard ask where food was were all being polite. 2. We understand it was busy and every business needs money but don’t take in more people than you should. 3. When you sneeze please do it into your arm and not your hands then don’t wash them, I genuinely couldn’t believe it, hygiene is huge, especially in catering. I’m genuinely shocked I still ate my food after the person touched my plate later on. as they didn’t go anywhere near a sink or a sanitizer. Our mains were lovely. I hope the famous athlete who was in the restaurant at the same time got his food on time and amazing service. But, I do genuinely believe on a normal busy night this restaurant would be fine, just a few tweaks needed. 2 stars lost due to my hygiene comment and how they were openly arguing with one another."

"We got married here in October 2023 and I wish that we’d taken notice of the bad reviews of the managing director Suzie Bailey. On so many occasions in the process of organising the wedding, Suzie was overbearing, judgemental, patronising and ultimately became unapproachable, wearing us down. This was extremely distressing for me at times, during what should have been an enjoyable process of celebrating the joining of two families. We were told in the sales pitch that it would be fine to tailor our wedding day to make it feel more personal in terms of food, entertainment and music. We had asked about this specifically as we wanted to include some cultural aspects commonly used in Chinese and Japanese weddings. But many of our very reasonable requests were met insensitively and, at one point, we were even lied to about why one of our requests had been denied. Things eventually got so bad that we were going to pull out 6 weeks before and find another venue but we were tied into the contract and would have lost a lot of money £15,000+ . We understand that Tudor Barn is a listed building so has some restrictions on what you can do inside the venue and on the grounds. We also understand that Tudor Barn is a profit-making business and has a very limited list of approved caterers and suppliers who, under Suzie's instruction, are limited in what they can provide. There is no way around this, as we found out when every Asian caterer we suggested was prohibited by her. Even after complying with all the venue’s rules as a listed building and paying the necessary commission and service fees, it felt like Suzie was exercising an abuse of power to deny our requests for seemingly arbitrary reasons. In my experience, whenever we had a concern or request which we wanted to discuss, Suzie was quick to shut us down and deferred to saying that she has been managing weddings for the past 15 years and has 200 clients a year. There is a small team of wonderful operational staff available on the day but ultimately Suzie controlled every aspect of our wedding planning and we were repeatedly made to feel like we were being too demanding and unreasonable. I’m sad that what should have been a joyous once-in-a-lifetime process caused us so much stress and I regret having our wedding at Tudor Barn. "After I had made an appetit that runs around the kew garden, my friend and I drove to lunch after richmond. we have reviewed our options and decided to go for this restaurant./ the place is spacious. it made use of black and natural wood colors, which gave it a sophisticated yet domestic look. the outlet also uses a lot of natural light, which gives the feeling of an opener space. I liked the place. I think the interiors were tastefully finished./ it was not busy when we arrived, occupied with only one handful of tables. we need to choose our place and choose a rectangle. the personal was very nice and attentive. they made some recommendations and described the home specialties when we asked. we quickly identified our decisions. we had gamben and calamari fritti for starter and roasted pork bell and steak milanesa napolitana for our net. we agreed to share so that we can both taste more dishes./ the food was served quickly. the calamari was really nice. it was thin, slightly coated and crisp. the accompanying garlic mayo had beautiful aromen. it was a good choice. the gambas looked and tasted differently than we expected. we had the Spanish tapas version in the sense. that said it wasn't bad. it had fine aromas and light acid from the combined wine-garlic-lemon ingredients. the black bell did not see to appetize on the plate. the mushalat looked like wild leaves and the swarm looked boring. it was a thicker cut, slightly dry and a tade too salty. the Bbq sauce was mild tasting and balanced the salt on the pork. it added taste to the court, but there was not enough of it on the teller. I would suggest having it on the side and allowing the guests to determine the amount to put on the court. the sweet potato fries that came with the court were delicious. the steak milanesa napolitana looked huge on the teller. it looked delicious. the steak itself was tender, while the tomato cheese bouncing was tasteful. together, the tomato cheese aroma drowned the steak. we barely tasted the steak. it felt like we were eating margherita pizza. I would suggest the cook to recalibrate the balance. this could be a good dish./ the place looked every bit promising from beautiful interiors, chilled ambiente to good menu choices to reasonable trips, but eating was a bit down. we were underwhelmed by those who we had. I hope the place can improve and live its potential."
