"The restaurant manager for lunch was miserable and unfriendly; sat us on a table and left us, no smile, no enjoy; however Abdul saved the day; he couldn't have been more helpful. You have an amazing asset in Abdul I couldn't have asked for more. In advance of lunch I bumped into Abdul in the foyer as I was looking lost he asked if i needed help it was at this point I said I needed to book for dinner. He didn't just point me in the direction but escorted me where I needed to go and waited until I was being seen. Without Abdul you would have had a complaint from me about the afternoon; however as it was he was truly amazing and i could not have asked for more of him; however his colleagues need to take a leaf out of his book. If customer service isn't their forte then they should not be in the hospitality business"

"it was Valentine's Day! needed somewhere locally and for a fast, comfortable meal. to our surprise a musician had been set for the evening and this improved the ambiente so much that we wanted to take our time over the culinary experience. Nevertheless, the employees were too excited to postpone the delivery of the courses and it would have helped them to return a little. the set menu was a real bonus and the selection of food tasted amazing. "I had a great experience at the Blue Legume. It was quite busy on Sundays for brunch, so even though we had a reservation, we had to wait a bit. However, the wait was not too long. The brunch was delicious and reasonably priced. We had 2 Mediterranean Brunches and 4 coffees, which came to £24. The decor and atmosphere were beautiful, and I would definitely recommend it for brunch or a nice weekend lunch. We were able to enjoy our meal for over 3 hours without feeling rushed or asked to leave, which was great for us, but may have contributed to the long queues."

"We dined at the MC Cafe Bar Grill Manchester, good selection of meals. Although they have discontued the Mixed Grill that I had had on a previous visit. As it was lunch my husband had the chicken burger, which looked nice and he liked the chips. I had salmon en crout, but did not like the spinich it came with, the salmon was well cooked, it was accompanied by seasonal vegitables and new potatoes. Sevice on the slow side in fact we waited nearly an hour for our meal. But they were very busy."

"I am very happy with the food I had for the first time at nr. 35 mackenzie walk. it looked very good and tasted even better. I was not too sharp on the sausages in the house breakfast, but everything else was delicious and cooked for perfection. beautiful setting, both inside and outside, but we felt that the staff was a little distracted. maybe a stressful Sunday? service was fast, although the restaurant was quite empty. the prices were a little high £13 for eggs royal in a casual room seemed like much, but we had a nice time anyway. all in all, recommended. go back."

"My wife and I found the food disappointing and it seemed to be overpriced for the quality received. We had been looking for an alternative venue for Sunday lunch but have decided not to include Cafe Rouge in the list of our regular venues. "Decided to try here as we were stopping at the Holiday Inn Express. Was surprised to see such a big bar area and a bit disappointed that there were numerous TV screens placed around it all showing football. Whilst this isn't advertised as a Sports Bar , it clearly is which means our table conversation had to compete with the TVs and the cheering guests at times. Surprisingly, the restaurant wasn't very busy and our orders were taken quickly and efficiently by very friendly staff. None of us were disappointed with our food but neither was anyone over the moon; it was just alright. There is an interesting selection of food on offer with a bias towards spicy and the katsu curry seemed a popular choice. We were a bit taken aback by the 10% service charge even though it was discretionary so beware. The staff were very polite and attentive but this may be because they weren't very busy so we'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Overall, this was not an unpleasant experience but I doubt we'll be returning."

"My review is not for Café Rouge, but for Opentable, who I booked through. When we arrived and said we had a booking for two people, they knew nothing of this booking. Apparently Opentable had not updated the bookings, and according to the member of staff, this often happens. It wasn't busy so we were able to get seated anyway, and the service and food was very good as always. I will not use Opentable to make my bookings again, sorry."

"I enjoyed both the breakfast and the birthday lunch that I had recently that I wrote straight to Trip Advisor to recommend Cafe Rouge in Bury St Edmunds. The food was not run of the mill' but was well cooked with imaginative touches and just the right amount. My friend and I chose three different items on the menu and we were both delighted and our waitress was charming and helpful. Your booking system is so easy and I had the opportunity to ask to sit in a side room as I can hear better. When we arrived we were automatically shown to a table where I had asked without any fuss. It was a thoroughly good experience which I shall repeat."

I ordered a chicken flour that I would press as a breast, but actually was on the bone - my fault not to check. a piece was in order, the other piece was so hard I couldn't get it out of the bone. I ordered eaton mess for desert that was in the grunde a court of yogurt with pieces of meringue in it. the service was good, the poor food."

"I found it very easy to book online, and the table was ready immediately when we arrived. it was a small sleeper at our table, but it was okay, temperature was pleasant. the restaurant had friendly staff, and service was quite fast, we had a pot tee that was a nice size, both of us had steak (rumpf) mine was excellent I love it if I had a totally gristle free cut, my partner was good, but not so happy. we eat our blue and it was cooked quite nicely. the deserts were beautiful, we had the lemon tart, it was sharply tender and refreshing, and the rhabarb and ingwer crumbling, also very tasty, a crispy fragile and beautiful zingy tasteful filled with ice. will certainly come back when the value of the food here!"

"great burger. the pull-rib-croque was good, a bit sweet, covered with cheese, as it should, but in lactose intolerance, so I removed it (painted it off). "Very good lunch with friends we had not seen for sometime. We chose the set menu so couldn't use Gourmet card except for drinks but still good value. Only quibble my husband was told he could have a sweet and main in place of the starter and main but we discovered later that he had been charged the £3 surcharge for the sweet! "Having purchased cakes in the caffe several times when staying in London I felt sure that afternoon tea there would be something special but sadly I was mistaken, they didn't seem to have any idea about my booking and we were sat at the back of the caffe, service took forever and when it arrived we were sadly disappointed, the tea was served in a tiny pot and it took me attempts to get some boiling water to top it up with, the sandwiches were mediocre with fillings not to our taste and the cakes were more like little deserts and extremely sickly, this was accompanied by quite dry scones but as we'd not had lunch we were both quite hungry so ate these, as neither of us could manage the rather sickly desert type cakes at the time we decided to take them with us rather than leave them as the afternoon tea wasn't cheap, this took a very long time to get organised and we had to chase the waiters several times before they finally arrived back with us in a takeaway container. The whole experience was that of organised chaos and having paid the bill as was part of an anniversary treat for my partner I felt ripped off. We would never go there again for tea and I will go back to buying the odd nice cake from there as and when I am in London"

"Cafe Rouge is a classic and welcoming restaurant with plenty of space and friendly service. However, on Mother's Day, it was extremely busy and there were some delays in serving. Despite some complaints from other tables, the waiter worked hard and was apologetic. The French onion soup was delicious, but the medium rare steak was overcooked, which was a letdown. This restaurant is child-friendly and a great place to spend a few hours, despite the mishaps. I would definitely visit again."

They had ran out of the wine we wanted, which was a shame as we'd booked for 5pm so it wasn't like it was late at night. "a nice cozy place from the cold, not a caffe or a bar more from a resteraunt, where a reservation may be required if occupied, but the staff are very accommodating to find them a replacement table when they just stand. or a quick call via google maps to secure a table. a good place to bring this special person in her life without breaking the bank. I ordered a spicy cheek burger with salat, it was like a spicy bohnenburger and was boiled in the middle, as these begin frozen, I wanted nothing to say it was not so bad, but I will cook it to the chef for an extra minute or two. the salat dress was beautiful and the salat was beautiful, but the tomatoes were completely tasteless and probably not organic. beautiful coffee with alpro soya, unfortunately no oatly barista. wifi yes and open up until 11pm thanks to adriana and all staff very helpful."

"Pleasant staff, tasty food but so slow. Table booked and arrived at 5pm order taken 5.15 with hardly anyone in the restaurant; first course arrived 5.40 and although very tasty the mushroom vol au vent had been microwaved and gone cold with soggy pastry. Main courses, after reminding waiter, arrived at 6.25 with an apology. We were due at theatre at 7pm so no dessert! House wine very pleasant and set menu meal good value."

"The food was delicious, but I felt that the portion size was not enough for the price. I was still hungry after finishing my meal. The staff were friendly, but we felt ignored despite the restaurant not being very busy. We eventually gave up waiting to order dessert and decided to just ask for the bill instead. It was a shame because the restaurant is in a beautiful building and the food was good."
