"This place was a big let down i think all the five star reviews are from people who don't know how good vegan food tastes like. Also they seem not to know how to keep things stocked, over the course of the evening i've heard no less than five times they ran out of one thing or another. Even the beer i asked about, i was told they haven't had that in months?? This restaurant is what happens when trendiness is more important than food quality not to mention the small portions my partner and I had to order three mains and a starter and we still ended up leaving not full. Our first mains we shared, it was a mexican dish and they included FOUR WHOLE tortilla chips for the entire bowl. four... we went through all four in a minute or two and still had a bit left in the bowl, so we asked if we could perhaps get some more, but the waitress proceeded to lose the sense of urgency and by the time she had finished taking someone else's order, we had already finished the plate. one of the cocktails had a very peculiar aftertaste, the desert wasn't all that, tasted like a sponge (was supposed to be cheesecake) and the hot chocolate was rubbish too (seriously how can you screw that up? oh right, vegan cream).. this is what happens when you try to imitate non vegan dishes as vegan things, just why? and then we ended up getting the bill and it was a bit of a shock how much was spent for how little we received. someone's really trying to cashing in on the vegan crazy really just one disappointment after another, i won't consider coming back to this place nor recommending it to anyone else."

"It's unfortunate that this restaurant has potential with its tasty food, but the service is severely lacking. In the five times we've ordered, our food was delivered incorrectly each time. The first time I arranged for collection, they hadn't even checked their online orders. The second collection went smoothly, but the third time, our order was wrong again. The premises appear unhygienic, and the staff do not seem to be taking any precautions for COVID-19, such as wearing masks or gloves. Unfortunately, despite the good food, the lack of proper hygiene standards and accuracy in orders make it unlikely that we will return. Out of the eight times we've visited, we've only had a satisfactory experience once."

"The little gem on Fleet Road! The restaurant is quite small inside but very clean and well decorated! We had popadoms and pickle tray for starters which was excellent, they had a red dip which had onion, coriander and mint (I think), which was so tasty Our mains and sundries were all really great tasting Indian food. I had prawn dansak which was the best dansak I’ve had and I’ve visited a lot of Indian restaurants, it was so tasty, just a pity I couldn’t finish it The other dish we had was a Indian chilli garlic type dish which again was up there as the best we had tasted. Naan breads were really good and the garlic mushroom rice is a must have Service was excellent, very attentive, asking if our meal was ok, asking if our drinks needed a refill before they were empty, very good! The food is very well priced for what you get in terms of quantity and bags of taste We were given hazelnut chocolate at the end of our meal and Ameretto shots, which was a great way to end the meal. Highly recommend visiting and tasting the delights of Rajdoot if ever visiting or passing through the area Thanks for a great meal guys!"

"There are far fewer Indian restaurants, as opposed to takeaways, local to us. Sometimes you just would rather eat out. We gave Spice Island a try and it did not disappoint: the Onion Bhajis were crisp, spicy and light and, speaking of light, the Nan Bread was amongst the lightest we have ever known delightful! The Dansak was spicy yet still had that essential sweetness while my personal 'acid test ', the Chicken Vindaloo was hot but not mental, the chicken nicely cooked and the potatoes not over present up there with the best. Service was good but not obsequious and the decor rather smart. We reckon to go to Spice Island at least once a month from now on."

"Ordered on a Saturday evening, delivered in 30 minutes. Good sized portions, and two out of three dishes were excellent, but the third was terrible. Chani Puri (starter) and Beigan Masala were both delicious. However, Chilli Ponir was just awful. Huge chunks of white onion and an insipid, bland sauce accompanied paneer that somehow managed to be even blander. The whole dish tasted of almost nothing, and was far and away the worst chilli paneer I have ever tasted. Five stars for the good dishes, but minus two for the bad one."
