"Booked online but phoned ahead before arrival to alter the time, which was accommodated without issue. The food was excellent with a notably extensive menu of vegetarian dishes as well as meat. It also has a split menu between Nepalese and Indian, allowing the opportunity to try new things while having plenty of old favorites to fall back on. Trying the Nepalese dishes for the first time was a revelation; very fresh ingredients and interesting flavours. Highly recommended."

"I have been coming to this restaurant for many years. After a grueling workout at the gym, I was eager to try the mixed grill. It was incredibly tasty, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. The owner and staff are outstanding, providing excellent service with a smile. The prices were very reasonable and I will definitely be coming back again!"
"when it comes to comfort, you don't get much more comfortable than sitting at home in a miserable night that fucks in a few hearty curry while you see terrible television. Even with all the excitement of london at my doorstep, this scenario always proves to be a winner and I am sure that I am far from alone. everyone has a local hurry house they are not an iondoner without one and my is ghukhas on sydenham high st. with a magnificent menu of Nepalese inspired curries for over 14 years and price that represent decent, gurkhas sets his place as fixed favorite of se26. and with oriented like the rod lamb curry, monks mahcci and the ingenious go see podina curry (lamb...read more"

"We booked a table, surprisingly it wasn’t that busy. There were lots of delivery drivers collecting, easy to understand why. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. Not hot either. Bring your own alcohol if you want a drink, soft drinks only served, well advertised. They don’t charge corkage either. We started with a poppodom each, they were freshly cooked (not the usual pre made reheated rubbish), they were like fluffy but crunchy clouds, they just melted in the mouth, not hard and not oily. I could easily eat half a dozen of these with mango chutney and raita for a meal. The mango chutney and raita are made freshly in the restaurant, unfortunately the manager wouldn’t share the recipes, darn lol. Considering everything is made fresh to order the service is very quick. I hadn’t even finished my poppodom before the chicken tikka starter arrived. Hubby and I shared a chicken tikka starter, we have both been eating Indian food for over 40 years, and said we both thought it was the best chicken tikka we had ever tasted. It was succulent, and delicious. It could only have been improved by the raw sliced onions accompanying it having been lightly fried. Served with a piece of hot lemon too, perfect. The King Prawn Karahi was excellent, awesome taste, the Chilli Chicken was suitably hot and had a delicious flavour as well. We were so busy eating and waxing lyrical about our dinner we hardly had time to talk to each other lol. We ordered Keema Rice, I was disappointed because it had peppers and tomatoes in it (that’s a first for us). As I had asked for my dish to have no peppers or tomatoes we mentioned it to the manager, he apologised, said it was an error and removed the rice from our bill. The manager was very nice, did a check back as well. The portions are a good size, so value for money. If we lived nearer we would probably have a weekly delivery from here, if not more often. It’s rare to get perfectly cooked food with such good flavour, and great service as well. Definitely looking forward to next time we eat here. I can highly recommend eating here. Can’t remember the last time I thought that, or found a restaurant this good. Thank you to the manager and chef for making our little break perfect."

"Salt'n Pepper is a Pakistani institution which is much loved by its locals. Established over 30 years ago, by Mahmood Akbar the chain has been going strong ever since. Princess Diana and Sir James Goldsmith are just a few of its celebrity visitors in the past. We sat down and service erratically sloped, right from the start to finish. It wasn't as if it was rude, just non existent. Diving straight into the food we started with the usual offering of poppadoms with"

"We have dined at this restaurant twice in the past few weeks and have thoroughly enjoyed our meals on both occasions. Despite being open for only a month, the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. We plan to take some pictures of the food during our next visit."

"In the captivating city of Edinburgh, there was a marvelous restaurant called Passage to India. With its vibrant colors and enticing smells, it attracted travelers and food enthusiasts alike. Tom and George ventured to this enchanting place one night, captivated by the traditional Indian music and exotic menu. Each bite of their meal transported them to distant lands, filled with spices and ancient recipes. As they savored their delicious dishes, they felt the restaurant's soothing music lull them into a peaceful state. Despite their drowsiness, they left with smiles on their faces, knowing they had uncovered a hidden gem in Edinburgh. They promised to return to this magical restaurant, where dreams and flavors combined to create an unforgettable experience under the stars."

"Will start by saying how friendly the staff are here, they couldn’t do enough for our party of 8 so thank you. New owner is very welcoming too and it’s nice to see the owner liasing with customers. Food was absolutely delicious. Bhajis are something else, a must try! The chicken was melt in the mouth and the curries were very flavoursome. Chef cooked our curries to just the right spice heat as requested. We will recommend and definitely return. I would like to see some of the lighting off for a more relaxed cosy feel as it’s very bright in there, that’s my only negative and only reason for not giving 5 stars. Thanks again to all the staff"

"It’s been two years since I came to London from India and this is the best Indian food I have tried so far. The taste is simply incredible. The curries are so flavoursome and fresh. The breads are light and fluffy! I have tried almost everything in the menu so far and this place never disappoints. If you are looking for an authentic Indian meal, this is the place."

"My brother and his family came to visit from mid Wales, and we decided to have a family lunch at the Soho Tavern, because we had all eaten there pre-Covid. However, this was not the Soho Tavern we visited pre-Covid. There were 5 of us in the party and ordered 3 Medium Soho Grills, 1 Chicken Tikka Biryani and 1 Chicken Karai Pot, I boiled rice and 2 nan breads. The Chicken Tikka Biryani, the Chicken Karai Pot and the boiled rice arrived at the table, but no plates, after 5 minutes, the mixed grills arrived, they were not sizzling as they normally do, I asked for some plates to eat the Chicken Tikka Biryani, the Chicken Karai Pot on, again after about 5 minutes, the plates arrived and they were stone cold, I asked the waiter for some warm plates, again after about 5 minutes they arrived, by this time my food had gone cold, so I informed the waiter, who took it away. He returned with a warm plate and the food. I do not know what was done to the Biryani, but the chicken, which I had tried, whilst waiting when it 1st arrived, it had transformed from a soft succulent chicken into tough/hard chicken. I cannot confirm how it was reheated but it was not nice. This meal was not the standard that we were used to at the Soho Tavern pre Covid, this was very disappointing."

"This neighborhood cafe is a hidden gem! My family recently moved to the area and stumbled upon this place. I'm now envious that every parade of shops doesn't have a spot like this. I wish I had this cafe at the end of my street, I would definitely become a regular. The decor is casual and welcoming without being messy. They offer a great selection of sandwiches, which can be toasted as well. The coffee is excellent and reasonably priced. The cakes looked tempting, so I'll definitely have to go back to try them."

"(Delivery) Considering the high rating on Tripadvisor and the reviews of the place we were ready to give Kali Mirchi a go. After quotes of Best Indian and So much flavour being thrown around, we were anticipating a much needed curry. After placing the order and being told it would be 40 minutes, we waited an hour before we called to be told it had just left and would be with us any minute. It came to £19.20 so I gave the driver £20 and was told he had no change! Biting my lip to the sofa we dug in to our starters. The Onion Bhajis were more gram flour than onion and for such a cheap dish to make was surprising. I could taste the old oil which isn 't always a bad thing if it wasn 't for there being too much flour to soak it up. Oily onion bhajis seen to, mains were a go. I love my naan bread and wasn 't all that impressed with the one I had infront of me, the bright red keema filling had all dropped to one side and it was very thin. The pilau rice was nice though, I think they had added a touch of saffron. The Chicken Tikka Masala was average at best and tasted alot like cheese. Not how I would expect, it was also luke warm but did have good chunks of chicken. The lamb jalfrezi was overly spiced and had more than enough green chillies but abit too much oil. Unfortunalty we didnt feel Kali Mirchi had lived up to its reputation and I am a firm believer that food should be a similar standard when delivered, if this is the standard in restaurant then I would be very disappointed to have made the journey. Summary Nothing special, average experience for a takeaway, good portions of meat, but bad balance of spice and flavour. Check your change and order well in advance!"

"The pub is very clean and organized, with a relaxed atmosphere. The beer garden out back is beautiful, especially at sunset. They are following all COVID-19 guidelines. I came with my family and it was welcoming to everyone. I enjoyed the food, especially since they offer a variety of vegetarian options. It's a local spot with great prices, delicious food, and will be my new go-to place to eat!"

"I visited a diwali celebration (festival der Lichter) in this restaurant on recommendation of a friend and was thrilled with the experience. the employees and the management were gracious and attentive, the buffet food was delicious and the entertainment (a fusion of Indian and Western dance music provided by a live duo by dj’s) was excellently mixed and added the perfect scene for the festivities of the evening. the restaurant was plentiful with Indian clientele, which was a fantastic quality seal. I have already recommended the restaurant to my friends and would like to eat there in future."
