"Dined in there nearly 2 weeks ago. Good food, friendly waitress and exotic environment. Nice background music too. One star is deducted from the 5 full stars because the choice of coffee was very limited only 2, between Turkish and English coffee. Moreover, the plate was a bit weird or worn out so that it was like a sensitive turntable. Everytime when I cut or took food from the plate, it turned moved, which was a bit annoying. Certainly it was not a major problem, but attention to detail must add marks."

"Went there 24 May as we were going to the theatre and really glad we chose this place, what a find. The dining area was nice a bright, the service was second to none and actually felt we were part of the experience too. The menu was just right and not too big but the food WOW! I took the Qozy lamb and it was so nice that I was sorry to finish, the rice tasted as though each grain had been individually cooked, the naan bread was huge and so tasty and the lamb, on the bone with a beautiful warm chilli flavoured tomato sauce, to die for. My wife went for the lamb wrap and it was huge and packed with lamb and freshly made slaw, a yoghurt and a chilli jam dips with spiced fries. It was so good that we will definitely be going back. It caters for all dietary requirements and persuasions and nothing is too much for them either. Highly recommmended."

"This restaurant is a fantastic spot with excellent staff, a diverse menu, and high-quality food. We visited as a group of eight, and the team could not have been more welcoming. Although we booked just two hours in advance and arrived a bit late, we were greeted with warmth and appreciation. The food was served promptly and met a high standard, delighting everyone in our group. The service, ambiance, and overall mood—including the lighting and music—were all perfectly matched to create a lovely experience. I would strongly recommend a visit here. The only area for improvement was the slightly bland lamb dish, which was noted by two members of our group. While the dish was beautifully presented and the meat itself was fantastic, the sauce didn't quite deliver the flavor we had hoped for. I believe that with just a small adjustment, it could elevate the dish significantly."

"Essentially we were thrown out of the restaurant shortly after 11pm. The whole meal was rushed and the quality poor. We went to Shish and Mangal after a lengthy discussion about what to eat (as couples do). There were no customers in the restaurant. Upon arrival at 10pm we were told we had to order before 10:30pm because the kitchen closed at that time. This was not a problem as we were both starving. We ordered a beer, bottle of wine, two starters and two main meals. Everything came out in quick succession. It was a little faster than I would have liked between starter and main meals. Halfway through the main meal we were asked to pay so the staff could close the till. We paid to assist, but I was shocked we were asked at that point of the meal. I had to ask for the music to be put back on at one point, as we were sat in silence. At the end of our meal my partner told the waitress his main meal was not very good. She went to the kitchen and came back saying she agreed it wasn’t as good as it should have been. He asked for a refund and was told he couldn’t have one because they had closed the till! He was asked to call in the next day because the waitress didn’t actually work there, she was helping out as a favour?! We of course felt very uncomfortable about this and told the waitress we were not happy to leave without the refund. She told us she had a bus to get and family to get home to, so we needed to leave. There was nothing she could do. We argued our case politely and the waitress was screaming at us. I told the waitress she was very rude. She told us my partner should have complained at the start of his meal and not at the end. Frankly I was flabbergasted by the whole thing. I asked for details about the owner and again the waitress told me she didn’t have this information, except for a first name, because she was asked to help out as a favour but didn’t know who she was working for? The waitress put a cork in our wine and we left about £75 lighter. No refund and with a bad taste in our mouths. Had we been told we needed to be finished and out of the restaurant by a particular time, we would have ordered to take away and saved money having beer and wine at home. We paid a premium for the the experience of sitting in the restaurant and we were made to feel rushed and a problem for the staff. I will not eat here ever again and I am in no way surprised there were no other customers based on my experience. Save your money and eat elsewhere!"

"This place definitely deserves a review. We were looked after very well at lunch today, a party of nine with four young children. The lady serving us opened up another seating area where we could comfortably dine in private. The food and service was excellent and we were made to feel at ease. As we weren't fond of soups she happily replaced with naan bread and I'm sure generous portions were provided."

"So disappointing I would never go back again. First of all I ordered the vegetarian hummus (the standard one comes with lamb). As you can watch the chef you can see that everything is touched with the same tongs. Raw meat, pita bread, tomatoes, peppers. Everything that goes on the grill will be meaty. Whether you like it or not. When I complained I got given cold dry pita bread straight from the packet, got told with a rude look that it was cold and that was that. The main course was a feta salad I hoped this would be vegetarian. It was a very small portion, nothing to write home about but I guess it was ok. I just couldn’t stop watching the chef as I am not entirely sure how a 5 star food hygiene rating could ever be awarded. Basically if you have any food allergies or are vegetarian/vegan avoid this place like the plague. I was really looking forward to the experience but am pretty shocked especially after reading some other reviews which confirm that this is wasn’t a one off. We asked for the service charge to be taken off and got the worst looks as a result. Service is lacking. There are so many great places along Mill Road don’t bother with this one."
