"I've thought about what to write here for two weeks now — the res at St. John Bread and Wine was what I was most looking forward to on a trip to London (I flew from NYC) and I literally left the restaurant in tears, my hopes and expectations dashed. I remain hopeful that the original St. John is worth the hype, but Bread Wine did not live up to the St. John name and brand. Food was simply OK, service was awful. I'm also hopeful that it was just a rough night — unexpectedly busy, unexpectedly short-staffed, who knows? But hospitality is hospitality and I felt none of that during our visit."
