"My friend and I went for fish and chips. I ordered large and she small. I had originally booked for four but two could not come so I altered the booking to two in the afternoon. The staff were unaware of this amendment. Why? We had to ask for menus as possibly they were waiting for the other two to arrive. But perhaps not. We ordered, and waited and waited and waited. Two other couples were clearly getting bored. It was over three quarters of an hour before we were served and my fish was no bigger than Carol's. I did not comment on this as I did want something to eat by then. I had to ask for pepper, why isn't it on the table? We also had to ask for water and I ordered a glass of wine. These were served quickly but water should be automatic, why put glasses on the table if you have to request it? Another couple and a three came and waited even longer than we had. I understand there was only one chef in but the length of wait was disappointing as fish and chips is hardly a complex request. While we were waiting the only things that came out of the kitchen were a sweet, and two blobs of ice cream. What was happening in the kitchen? Nothing apparently."

"Menu was so promising, but the service really let down the whole evening. We are in the bar, which had a nice atmosphere. We were only a table of 4, but 2 of the starters came out wrong (had to be sent back). Lack of attention to detail. Even things like glasses etc being cleared from the table wasn’t happening , so we had to do it ourselves. Disappointing and the staff didn’t seem particularly happy, didn’t see any of them smile. Mains came out in good time, but portions were quite small. Everything tasted nice, including the starters when they were re-done but I can’t see past the service, so won’t be returning, sorry."
