However, being totally opposite to that description, I was still able to go along and appreciate the opulent ambience and first-class feast on offer. The atmosphere is grandeous from the moment the doorman opens your car door. Inside, tables are lain around the edge of the room, with an impressive bar as centre-piece, within which a well-stocked seafood platter extends from one end of the bar to the other, and is a sight for sore eyes (and hungry tummies! "Menu and staff both very good, but we were served by a material number of different wait staff, which meant we had to repeat ourselves on more than one occasion. One waiter 's English wasn 't the best and expressed attitude when I suggested we had gone round in a circle when discussing a menu item low point of the evening. The overall level of attention to service and desire to please was very welcome and appreciated. A very good 3 4 hours, even though reception initially stated they wanted the table vacated within two hours. I do NOT appreciate being called within one hour of booking to confirm my reservation. Once booked I either show or give at least 24 hours notice of cancelling absent an event beyond my control. Being asked to call to confirm is a high cost activity."

"We recently moved to the area and saw the great reviews on travel advisers, so we booked a table as a special opportunity to celebrate the women's birthdays that both appeared. Unfortunately we were so disappointed. We booked a table for 4 people at 8 a.m. and arrived 10 minutes early. We said the table was not ready and was asked to drink a drink at the bar while the table was prepared. After 15 minutes of waiting, we asked with the manager if the table was ready, and he said a few more minutes. After another 10 minutes we asked the manager again and he said he can't force people to leave the table if they weren't ready. In fact, he was rather rude and abrupt and did not apologize. At 08:25 we suggested that we had enough to wait a round and wanted to go and suddenly our table was ready. Once we were asked if we wanted more drinks and then our order was taken. No offer was made for a round of drinks on the house to be waited. Our starters arrived within 20 minutes and immediately followed by our main courses. Three of the party ordered steaks. The steak was blande and the peppercorn sauce was without peppercorns. During one of the table staff the plates she asked if everything was fine with meals, we mentioned the tasteless steaks and sauce and we were rudely said we had mentioned something at the beginning. The young lady who presented us with the bill was very pleasant and polite the manager should take a leaf out of her book. Unfortunately, we will never return to this facility again."
