"Me and my wife popped in for a drink after shopping and realised that Millers had recently been taken over. You can tell the new owners have put some money into the decor and even had a live singer on which was a nice change from before. We had a look at the menu which was small compared to the previous but sounded nice. Unfortunately, from there is where the evening turned sour. I went to the bar to order some food and was left standing waiting to be served for around 10 minutes with staff just ignoring me. I would like to mention I was the only person stood at the bar and three members of staff were there but no acknowledgement. Not even we will just be a minute which I felt was rude. I do understand that they did have large Christmas parties in and most likely were understaffed but still just that they would be a minute would of been nice alternatively hire more staff for busy days before taking bookings. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait for food, which was understandable. It was actually 60 minutes, and when the food arrived, we had to help ourself to napkins and cutlery as we were left. The burger was nice, but the Chicken kebab was cold, and the flatbread was raw, not just a little but really raw. We sent the flatbread back and waited another 5 minutes for a fresh flatbread which again came to the table raw in the middle. The menu also stated Tzatziki but came with Hummus which wasn't pleasant to eat. Overall it was disappointing, I think they need to start thinking of hiring more staff on busy days of the week especially with Christmas around the corner. We both said we won't be returning again for food which is a shame since Millers has always been known for their great customer service and good food."

I visit this restaurant every month for Sunday lunch, and it never disappoints. The roast potatoes are fantastic, the red cabbage is amazing, and the Yorkshire puddings are cooked to perfection. The gravy is unbeatable. The gooey chocolate brownie and the Apple and Rhubarb crumble are the best I've ever had. View menu

My friend and I went to this restaurant for Sunday lunch and ordered the wild mushroom starter and beef and chicken roasts. The mushrooms were tough but tasty, and the presentation was good. The chicken was advertised as breast but turned out to be boned and rolled thigh with veins, sinew, and fat. The beef was sliced too thick and was not as tender as expected. The potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were hard and dry. Our total bill, including drinks, was almost £50. For that price, we were disappointed with the quality of the food and the comfort of the seating arrangement. We left feeling unsatisfied and unlikely to return.

A group of 9 friends out for dinner. Beer garden is fabulous, no complaints there. Most of us enjoyed the food. Mine was the exception. They really need to rethink the Mac cheese. A tiny portion compared to the Arrabiata penne (and £10 is not exactly cheap!! and very dry, not really any cheese sauce to speak of at all. I love a really cheesy sauce! The garlic bread was anaemic and barely warm and not a hint of any salad, which I thought was a bit odd really. Also the 'gammon ' was more like a thickly sliced boiled ham rather than a gammon steak. There 's plenty of better places to eat (in my opinion in Brighouse for less moolah. Won 't be back in a hurry.

"Really nice pub would return if i lived in the area. Visited for a beer and some food with wife and infant daughter, large carpark, is located at the top of the hill, staff and the locals were very welcoming. Nice selection of ales lagers and spirits. Restaurant section looked to be closed, but the lounge was bright and modern finish. Pub menu was served as per the website but they had a nice choice of specials. Had the special starter peri peri chicken samosa with pickled molis, perfect balance of curried samosa, sharp pickled mooli and spicey peri, came with an interesting almost experimental bread and charcoal garlic butter, mmm yummy main was a wholesome hearty gaint yorkshire brimmed with onion gravey and sausages dressed with a herby oil and fries on the side, was perfectly portioned for a big fella like me, may be too much for some, but a brilliant meal. Finished off with a white chocolate raspberry blondie, with a tart raspberry coolis and custard. Wife had the burger was thick and tasty, nicely seasoned. Daughter had a big portion of fish fingers and chips. Table services was efficient and friendly. Locals were nice to talk to aswell. We all left happy and full, would recommend. Parking: Big lot next to the pub would fit about 12 designated drivers Kid-friendliness: Had kids chair available, changing facilities in the disabled, large selection on the kids menu. Friendly staff, welcomed kids as well as adult. "Thankfully we only went for dinner, or at least we tried. It would seem that the Stump Cross has gone down hill since I last ate there in 2016-ish. The interior now looks very tired, there is tape sticking down carpets, it feels very sparse. All in all, it feels like a down-market Toby Carver but more expensive (and you don’t get any food, more to follow on that)! We went for a Sunday roast however it was just a bog-standard carvery. Not to worry we thought, the menu online seems to imply quite “posh” food. On the contrary, the Sunday offering is variations of carvery meats with vegetables, and a small selection of other less impressive dishes. Ultimately, we both decided on the Yorkshire pudding wrap, containing beef and gravy, with some roast potatoes on the side. I can’t tell you what it was like, because we waiting almost an hour and no food arrived; we had asked several times and were repeatedly told it was coming out in five minutes In the end, we rang another restaurant to ensure availability, and told the waitress to cancel the order and left. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but my question is, how can it take almost an hour to put some already cooked meat, in a (most likely) already prepared/cooked Yorkshire pudding and put that on a plate of already cooked potatoes the pub was serving a carvery! The nice lady at the bar was sympathetic and waved the cost for the coffee and coke we’d had. Some sort of service recovery there at least? We definitely will not be returning or recommending.
