"Just really really slow not great service. Specified it was a corporate lunch and the main server (lady) was just really unhelpful and really giving us disdained looks all meal. Often tried to catch people’s attention during the meal and they’d look the other way. A shame, because I had been a week before and enjoyed myself a lot for a corporate lunch, it was spot on, the server was wonderful."

"We went out as an 8 with people who are used to dining both here and in the USA , we got an excellent table at the back so we could see the whole of the restaurant . The bar staff looked after us with quick service and an he remembered all the drinks including a difficult cocktail. As we were there on a Sunday we had a super choice of the full menu including Brunch and we were allowed to pick and choose as we saw fit . All of us enjoyed the food and when we wanted sometime extra it was never a prob;em for our dedicated staff member Sebastian . I thought it was good value for money , and the wine list provided a decent choice for every wallet. We loved it as always and cannot recommend it highly enough."

"Food was excellent and served quickly. There were of course on 4 people in the restaurant other than the staff. The steak was really really good and cooked exactly as I had asked for. I thought £3 for some horse radish on the side was ridiculous. The fact the everything is a side at additional cost is a bit much. Nothing was offered included in the price of the steak. So by the time you have say mashed potato, and two veg plus the horse radish you've added £21 to a £43 steak. Pity they no longer have table cloths so it no longer feels like fine dining for a fine dining price. However, the service was excellent as was the food hence the positive rating. The restaurant and its outside tables (in a narrow side street) are a bit gloomy compared with the old location."

They no longer offer freshly baked bread, choosing instead to serve just two slices at the same price. "Please take this review seriously, because the management team won 't. In summary the food was extremely good but took so long to arrive that a McDonalds burger would have been just as welcome, and the enjoyment of the food was compromised. The efforts to make amends at the restaurant were extremely poor, hence no hope of them taking this seriously Visited on a Saturday evening over Valentine 's weekend, and it was pretty quiet, maybe 11 tables occupied, which it was why it was so surprising that we had to wait so long for food. We ordered main course only, and in the meantime watched another couple (that arrived after us) getting served their starter and main course before we received our food. After serving the other couple their main course something seemed to click with the waitress because she came to our table and reassured us our food would be here soon. When it finally arrived, it came with 2 sauces that we hadn 't ordered because the food had taken so long ... personally I would have ordered the sauces if I wanted them so this was of no interest to me. The food was very good but by this time we were so hungry that the quality of the food was pretty much lost on me. When a different waitress came to collect the plates and I mentioned the long wait she said it was because we 'd ordered chateaubriand which needed 30 mins.... ok, except we 'd waited over an hour. She then spoke to 1st waitress and we were given a complimentary tiny pastry tart each (the size of a £2 coin) because of the long wait. Every table was asked if they were happy to pay the 13.5% service charged when settling their bill, but unsurprisingly we were charged it without given the option to refuse to pay it. It 's not the cheapest place to eat, but as long you don 't turn up hungry and are ok to wait, then you should have a better experience than us."

"At our table, we noticed that the adjacent table received STK's signature bread right away, while we hadn’t even been offered any. After ordering drinks, we waited about 10 minutes before our waiter came over to ask how everything was. My husband mentioned that we were still waiting for our drinks, which arrived shortly after he asked. We ordered our meals, and my husband chose the calamari starter, which was impressively large. We both opted for steaks. As we were enjoying our conversation, another couple seated nearby received their bread and dip almost immediately. This made me wonder if we had been forgotten, so I asked a staff member if we had missed out on something.... we were indeed overlooked, but thankfully the bread came shortly after. Once our food was finally ready, it was delivered by a different waiter (a runner) to a table next to us and just left there instead of being brought to us. After a while, we managed to get another waiter’s attention to bring our food over. When our meals did arrive, they were quite nice. The asparagus was good, and the truffle fries were delightful—hard to go wrong with deep-fried fries, really. After finishing our meals, we had empty plates in front of us for about 20 minutes. I wanted to order a warm cookie, but at that point, I had lost interest in what was meant to be a special meal, and we just wanted to return to our suite. When we finally asked for the bill, it seemed they were aware we weren't completely satisfied. The bill was £140 after a discount (I had opted out of the optional service fee of £17.50), but we were actually charged £152. I didn't bother to argue about it. For a restaurant that prides itself on its service, we expected much better."

"Chose this for an early supper before the Theatre based on reviews and it didn't disappoint. We arrived early which wasn't a problem and sat in the window booth. Lovely food and staff friendly and attentive. The nachos we shared as a starter weren't as nice as I had hoped, but everything else was delicious. Very busy when we left at 7 so best to book."

"The atmosphere here is really pleasant, and the staff are wonderful. The food was just average, so it felt a bit overpriced since it lacked flavor. However, the cocktails were delightful, and the service was excellent. My child didn't eat very much, but the staff kindly provided a container for us to take the leftovers home, which was a nice touch. "Food was fantastic…. Service appalling, to begin with they forgot my potatoes, fine it happens. Ordered a dessert to share chocolate torte however we were served with Eton Mess told the waitress it was not what we ordered so she walked away only to reappear with the same dessert saying this is what I ordered…no way I don’t even like Eton mess … I then witnessed a congregation of staff showing their support disapproval of what had to happened to their colleague at this stage I was quietly feeling awkward embarrassed. Eventually receiving the dessert we ordered I couldn’t enjoy it went to the bar to complain to the ….who appeared to be the manager, she straight away jumped to her staffs defence saying that they apologised for what had happened that there were 2 sides of the story to be heard !! I asked for the bill after looking at the bill noticed I had been charged for 2 items that I hadn’t ordered, again on approaching the apparent manager was again made to feel it was my fault that I hadn’t checked the bill !! I am absolutely fuming , not even about the errors but how I was made to feel. This was a treat for myself my husband who has Parkinson’s Parkinson’s related dementia so these outings are few far between a rare treat turned into frustration of very, very bad contrived customer service"

"Our server was incredibly nice, but unfortunately my steak came out incorrectly twice. I ordered it medium, but the first time it arrived well done. On the second attempt, it was rare. "Very friendly, attentive and helpful staff. The starters were all interesting and not disappointing. For the mains, the steak was excellent and cooked to perfection. The sides were also excellent. Unfortunately the lobster was disappointing. The meat was removed and cooked with the mac cheese and then the whole mixture was replaced in the empty lobster shell. This totally subdued the taste of lobster and the cheesy taste was too dominant. Difficult to tell if the lobster was pre-cooked or cooked live. The shell was small and hopefully it was not re-cycled as the head and claws were missing from the presentation. Apart from that, enjoyed the steak and everything else. Will definitely eat there again only for the steaks and avoid the lobster."

"Our evening got off to a rough start as our reservation was lost and the staff seemed unaware of our request for a top table. After some initial confusion, we were eventually seated and received good service. The menu at Olio's was a mix of brasserie and Malaysian cuisine, and we had chosen the restaurant specifically for the Malaysian dishes. Unfortunately, many items on the Malaysian menu were unavailable, including spring rolls, chicken satay, their recommended curried chicken, curried lamb, and more. Due to my shellfish allergy, I was limited to fried chicken wings for a starter and lentil curry or beef curry for mains. The fried chicken wings were greasy and the rice was dry, but the beef curry was enjoyable. We decided to skip dessert."

"We waited for our food for over an hour with very little updates. Finally, they offered us a complimentary drink. The music was too low, so the ambience was lacking. The temperature in the conservatory was too hot, then too cold. Despite these issues, we enjoyed the company and had a great time once the food arrived. It's best not to arrive too hungry and be prepared to wait. They accommodated special dietary requirements, but the options were not well-informed or very creative. The traditional and cheese lover afternoon tea had a very good selection and quality. It's recommended to book in advance if you want to use vouchers and get an excellent deal."

"We have been seated at the coldest table next to the Window , close to the kitchen. It was my mums birthday and we did make staff aware of it. Nobody have done check back when we had our starters which were not the greatest....We have waited for mains over an hour, nobody gave us cutlery after we had our starters , we were have to request. When we did that , the girl with dark blonde hair rolled her eyes on us. My mums majito was most of it ice , she couldn’t drink it , we asked for another one instead with no ice and in a smaller glass. The manager ignored our request and bought a drink to the table in the same long glass with full of soda that my mum couldn’t taste alcohol. The noice level was way to high the chefs were shouting and constantly complaining that none of the staff taking food. The entire our service was spoiled. Additionally, nobody asked us if we have any allergies. My brother had a burger with a spicy mustard which is not specified in a menu, myself I am allergic to spicy. Theoretically I could of been the one who tried the burger to check if child’s food is warm. They lucky that I didn’t. over , neither the waitress or the manager haven’t introduced themselves to us and it makes sense now. Overall , we wouldn’t recommend the place. Too pricy for a horrible service."

"A very average meal. We ordered the beef roast and chicken roast. Twice we had to ask the kitchen for forgotten ingredients on the plate. As the roast only listed 3 items in the menu description, it is disappointing they couldn't remember to put 3 items on either of the plates. Yorkshires were cold and potatoes were hard. Cooked and then not reheated enough. Chicken roast is served with beef gravy. Not good enough for £18 a plate and to then we had to pay extra 12.5% tip on top of this."

"Nice place but we visited on a cold day and and if you weren’t seated directly in front of the open fire it was chilly in the restaurant . Also some of the food needed to be hotter than served. And I totally disagree with the service charge, on our bill it was £30 thank goodness it was discretionary the service certainly didn’t live up to that high charge. That should be removed entirely and left at the customers discretion. Kind of changed the mood of the lunch which was a shame."

"Ordered double stack on my burger but didn't come with that and was taken off the bill as wasn't going to wait for a other one to be cooked. We had a side of onion rings and one of them had unmixed dry flour inside of it which put us off eaten the rest so sent them back and they was removed from the bill but wasn't really given or offered anything for the inconvenience I appreciate mishaps happen but just left a negative on the Zak's meal which we use quite often."

"Nothing special or spectacular. Service was decent staff were friendly and attentive enough. Food was average but have had better. Chicken wings were small. Breads could do with tapenade or balsamic for dipping in rather than butter (which was in the little packs; wasn’t even presented nicely). Steak was fatty. Burger was nice but dry/overdone. The actual restaurant itself is quite cool, with the bar in the middle and gives a very modern feel. What ruined it was the choice of seats we were given at the kitchen door with staff running in and out or the front door with customers loitering around waiting to be seated I understand restaurants want to squeeze people in to make more money but I’m not sure either of those spots are the place to have a table."

"for the first time visit after some loving reports. certainly was a busy activity when we arrived. the table was not completely finished at that time, we were 30 minutes early, greeted at the entrance and sitting in the waiting area near the bar, the only thing that was that they were sitting directly opposite a table that saw people eating. Within 10 minutes the table was ready (the time begins) and we were led into a next room. beautifully decorated with low lighting to adjust the mood. now the first challenge, how to read a very extensive menu with low lighting, all I can say is thanked for the iphone light. pleasant young waitress came and gave us a bottle of water, though no glasses. for the garlic chisels and garlic mushrooms for starters and mushroom burgers and the classic mixed grill. simply fantastic round, the mixed grill was made to perfection gammon melt in her mouth cooked, steak cooked place on, the lamb a little fat, but that is lammed for her, but great taste. how everything they can always find to improve dinge, especially since it is not at the cheap end of the market. for me it's about the experience, but eating makes it worth everything while without any shadow of a doubt. we will definitely go back."
