"On possibly the last warm evening of summer 2023, I had the perfect dining experience on the outside terrace of Coq d'Argent. The burrata with green basil pesto was delicious, but the standout dish was the roast suckling pig, known as porcelet on the set menu, seasoned with rosemary garlic. It was a fantastic deal. The Citari Conchiglia 2021 Lugana white from the Veneto region paired perfectly with both dishes. Although my Perfect Manhattan arrived late, it was excellent and I enjoyed sipping it between courses. The service was great overall, with the sommelier constantly topping up my glass. This evening at Coq d'Argent felt like a return to pre-pandemic standards and atmosphere, making it a memorable dining experience."

"Service was incredibly attentive and perhaps better than the NYC location in it's formalness. The pate en croute was very well made however it's only half a slice which is a bit of an odd presentation. Burger grind is very nice on the classic burger and the morbier cheese gives it a unique flavor combination. I ordered it medium rare and it came medium well. Both the waiter and chef were quick to admit it was overdone and brought a proper replacement perfectly medium rare very fast. Very cozy atmosphere that made you feel at home with a low noise making it easy for conversation."

"Our breakfast was terrible! My husband ordered the stuffed banana french toast. What he received was two burnt and difficult to chew halves of french toast. One half had a small slice of mushy spoiled banana (which he didn't eat to avoid getting sick) and the other half had no banana at all! My eggs benedict was a small portion, with only half an English muffin and 2 small eggs - one cooked and the other runny as it should be. The prices were typical for London, but the quality of the food was unacceptable. With two coffees, our bill came to just over £30 - a complete waste of money. The waitstaff seemed clueless about the menu and brought us food that didn't match what we ordered. When we asked about it, they were unsure and took the food back to the kitchen, only to bring us the same incorrect dishes multiple times. It was quite comical. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant at all costs."

"Went there for a work Christmas do. When the menu arrived in November for making choices, it showed meals suitable for Coeliacs with GF marked on the items. However, through the time up to the meal, there were number of times when contradicting information was received about GF options. On the day itself, there was no suitable alternative for the canapes for Coeliacs. The starter came with normal bread, then a replacement plate arrived with GF bread. For the main I was kept waiting till after everybody had finished their mains, and then a replacement meal was provided as the choice (even though marked GF on the menu) could not be provided as being safe. Whats more frustrating about the whole experience was that the menu when sent to us for consideration had meals clearly marked as GF. If you cannot cater for Coeliacs, then just do not go there pretending to cater for them. Could not fault the waiting staff, who were very helpful."

"Harry's Bar at Ironmonger lane is possibly one of the best high end pubs in City. The pub has a dining space on the first floor and drinking area downstairs. It even has designated private smoking area if you wish to try one of its fine cigars, which as the pub claims, if enjoyed with the heating and music, makes you feel as if you are in Cuba! They have a good selection of rum to go with the cigars Food is tastefully decorated and taste is top notch. Service is also good but what may pinch is the price. You may find price to be higher than average but it is certainly compensated by the quality service, ambiance and cigars which you can get here."

"The food at this restaurant is excellent and reasonably priced. The staff is efficient and friendly. My only complaint is that the music is too loud for comfortable conversation. Lowering the volume would not detract from the atmosphere, I promise!"

"fantastic experience. I am pleased to share with you all my fantastic experience in the westcliff seafront. Today we are ready to enjoy a beautiful cocktail and so, we choose aurum restaurant terrace, we had visited it before a long time so why not try again. and yes, but they serve still wonderful cocktails with a fantastic service delivered! After we had greeted, we felt very comfortable and pleasant to be there, so we decided to try the food again and yes, it is quite expensive, but it is worth having the experience. excellent selection of quality drinks; vodka. rum. coffee available. it is ideal to enjoy a great chill out afternoon cocktails on the terrace or evening in the beautiful lounge bar. or if you want to enjoy an elegant dinner in your restaurant, this pleasant time can bring. refresh the touch with comfortable sitting and softer and beautiful lightness. the waitress is professional and participates with a beautiful smile. spotless clean yes, I would like to recommend it aurum restaurant!"

"The laughably poor Irish coffees were almost understandable, but not actually sure how a ‘French restaurant’ albeit fauxFrench, can actually cook a baked Camembert and get it so wrong. The rest of the food was just poor, added to which was generally haphazard service pushy and rushed at the start of the meal vs slow and uncoordinated for after dinner drinks and deserts. We have had passable Aubaine before in Mayfair, but this was just a big fail for Ken’ High St’"

"We were looking for a nice spot to fine alfresco on a Sunday afternoon and fell upon aubaine. We wish we hadn't. Boring menu, terrible value for money and appalling service. Normally I would avoid a french restaurant at all costs in order to avoid the typical snooty know it all french waiter. As it was a sunday, the sun was shining and the place was hiving I thought well let's give it a try. We waited 20 minutes for a menu. Another 10 for the wine menu and then to top it all the snooty French waiter arrived. I asked if the entrecôte was fatty, the response was it depends on the piece When asked how I wanted it cooked I said well done on the outside and pink in the middle. so you...read more"

"I visited today with my wife and we both loved it absolutely! a warm and friendly welcome as soon as they enter with options either a lounge area (where dogs are welcome) or a dining area to sit. there is a large selection of foods, including vegan and gluten-free options. I chose the homemade rindburger (I added halloumi on mine), all perfectly cooked and full of taste. my wife chose the mushroom pate that was also delicious (especially with the onion cutney) along with a very generous and particularly delicious side part of sweet potatoes! there was also a delicious and wide range of really interesting drinks. the two games we chose were “black johannisbeere and Lakritz” and “rhubarb and rosehip”. we were too full to try the gloomy, but they looked amazing and will definitely have to rehearse another time. thank you we will come back!"

"Absolutely loved this place, went for a birthday meal with my husband two daughters and son in law. Lady who served us was brilliant, had a laugh with us but not too intrusive, food was amazing and we are quite fussy! Good value and such a good atmosphere, have already been recommending it to friends, will return."

"in the center of the medieval canterbury is an old and tasty restaurant, named for the famous Trapiste, which serves typical Belgian foods (although we are in england). this place is a cross between a bar, a tea room and a restaurant. besides a large selection of beers, they enjoy delicious dishes such as the exceptional burgers that are served with homemade brot, or the special tee with cream. the restaurant has a rustic feel, and each chair is another style. the terrace is magnificent, and there is even a pavillon, decorated with tiny lights that they feel like surrounded by stars in the midst of this beautiful medieval building. on the ground floor they find a piano with a sign that invites guests to entertain the audience with their musical talents. excellent service, with waiterven are always friendly and helpful."

"looks like old paris rich bistro, which must have been really popular in the 70s, what they are looking for when they go to colbert. I have not tried much of the food and will certainly go back because the personal and the atmosphere were really pleasant. beautiful, in the bar quite some time with a good old fashion. the madeleines were hearty and tasty and the eierroyin were also really nice when they arrived. I will recommend if you miss france in london or if you are looking for a piece france in london"

"Really enjoy the breakfast here. Good eggs. Lots of space to bring a buggy. Only issue I have is that staff could be a bit more attentive. I spent a lot of time trying to get their attention or going up to them at the bar while they all chatted to ask for drink, place food order, get the bill and pay."

"On one of the hottest days the air conditioning was playing up but no attempt was made to bring in fans. The breakfast was lovely however it took almost an hour to come and the restaurant wasn’t that busy. Not sure if the breakfast is cooked for the hotel attached and this is the problem. The service wasn’t very good. Staff were rude asking if everything was ok but walking away before we answered. Not bringing any butter for about 10 minutes after it was asked for or tap water given the sweltering temperatures. Definitely wouldn’t return. I had booked this restaurant months ago after reading good reviews but our experience wasn’t very good."

"eating was quite commendable and the service staff is terrible amiable, except that their linguistic skills have prevented them from explaining the times either in French or in English. the more in alignment of the deck made the place look more like the berliner hoff railway station. bad lighting and lack of love to detail the interior made the whole place on site with a high standard office kantine in the city, finally killing the feeling of intimacy in fine restaurants."

"Was looking forward to dining here, but having read the reviews was concerned. Service was perfect, good looking efficient staff. Ordered Sunday lunch here, nice table upstairs, the tables are well spaced giving you lots of personal space. Decor is superb. I had read that the vegetables were undercooked and that was not wrong, nothing wrong with them just a little crunchy! I'm not a fan of chicken on the bone but I ordered it and was shocked to find it still had some feathers on the leg!! This has now confirmed that I will never order anything on the bone again. I had to cover it up. The meat itself was cooked perfect but I didnt expect that on my plate. For Sunday lunch please serve chicken sliced or just the breast, no one wants to see white feathers on their dinner. My friend had the beef and said it was very good. The lunch comes with unlimited Yorkshire puddings which is a great idea, although the personal gravy boats only have about 4 tablespoons of gravy in them. Overall a good dinner, wouldn't rush back but will return at some point (although wont have the chicken unless it's deboned!"

"good taste. fresh salmon. fresh and tasty nitriri. beautiful place only in the center of london at holborn tube station. I tried various dishes and most were great. they have a student discount only on the 1st stage, which is 10% and they also have evening discounts 20% for the whole menu after 20:00 o'clock. they have with the same kitchen a restaurant below, in the cellar, called hiromi. hiromi do not offer students or evening discounts that are strange, and I want to find out if this is actually okay. in the ground floor restaurant they gave me 10% discount bc I paid cash."

"My friend and I came here mid week for a catch up and were so very pleasantly surprised! It was very big and spacious inside with lots of room between the tables so it didn't feel in any way cramped, it was also very busy for 5.30pm! There was an instant lovely atmosphere about the place and the minute we entered one of the waiters greeted us and led us to our table. Our waiter for the evening was very polite and checked on us after every course. So the food, I had a bacon and avacado salad which was very very tasty the little strips of bacon had a lovely grilled as opposed to fried taste about them and the salad dressing was exactly how I like it. The portion size was also good! As...read more"
