"I am going to post my “trip advisor review “ because honestly I have given this too much time already. No word from my personal email to the restaurant. Vacillating between Terrible and Poor This is probably my meal at Tom's Kitchen since it opened. I am a huge long time fan of Tom Aitkens, his innovative delivery and passion about both fine food and food for the people. Some years ago he had a Fish Market/ Fish and Chippery a bit down the road on Cale Street. I have a huge amount of respect for his dedication towards sustainable food sources and sustainable fishing.. BUT if this was my meal at Tom's Kitchen this meal and the meal about months ago fall into the basket of the worst dining experiences of the Century. I only rebooked because I received an email in October that their difficulties had been sorted out. Apparently not as the meal was not only deja vu but worse. We were seated at an awful table away from the main part of the dining area despite having booked about weeks earlier. No one was seated near us for the duration of our meal. We were served the wrong bottle of champagne and when we pointed this out there was a bit of a scene. The service was very slow, and the food (well it was a Monday but the fish and chips had a fishy suspect flavour). We were actually about to pay and leave before our food arrived hoping to walk into. nearby Thai restaurant but the food arrived before we could ask for the bill. I don't know what to say. I can neither recommend the restaurant or ever even consider returning Date of visit: December"

Even though it was the holidays and they were clearly working with the b team, food and service was very good. Menu was game heavy, which is the hot thing in London now.

Average place, probably due to the choice i made. My dish was made by little cups of different things, extremely small quantity, not very tasty...I added two eggs and they came in a separate bowl...how do you eat two poached eggs alone, not even bread!

Arrived early but had a long wait until our table was available due to previous customers not leaving promptly. Service terribly slow. The restaurant simply couldn’t cope with having a full house. Cocktails nice but with only member of staff serving, very slow. Compensated for poor/slow service by offering a complimentary bottle of wine which was nice but didn’t really make up for such a long wait. View menu

A real disappointment for me! Just prior to us attending, I discovered some poor reviews on trip advisor and almost cancelled our reservation...but went through with it, only to be incredibly disappointed. The service was slow, some of the menu was not available and we were not advised prior to ordering and the food we did have was steak and it was as tough as old boots! I would not return and would not recommend

We arrived early but had to wait a long time for our table because previous customers were taking their time to leave. The service was very slow, likely because the restaurant was full and couldn't keep up. The cocktails were good but with only one staff member serving, it took a while to get them. To make up for the poor service, they gave us a complimentary bottle of wine, which was a nice gesture but didn't fully compensate for the long wait.

Tom’s Kitchen is a staple of any London trip. The food as always was outstanding. We opted for the chicken spatchcock and the steak frites. Finished with a very tasty Creme BrûlÃe The only issue with the service was that when we arrived the service staff were clearly very distracted by a large function taking place upstairs. We were given the wrong menus to start with, the server forgot to bring our water and a wine list. Once the meal was underway things really improved and we had a lovely evening. View menu

I booked a table for lunch on Saturday and arrived on time with my guests. I was told that there were no tables downstairs and was taken to a cold, dreary, room upstairs where a few unhappy looking diners were seated. Most of it was empty. I noted that the people who had come in at the same time as us and not booked a table were seated downstairs. The service at the table was good but the receptionist did not even apologise for not have our booked table, or one ready within a few minutes. The food was OK but a bit cold. Nothing special. I will not go there again.

I am writing my "TripAdvisor review" because I have given this restaurant too much time already. I have dined at Tom's Kitchen about 20 times since it opened, as I am a long-time fan of Tom Aitkens and his dedication to sustainable food sources. However, my recent meal was one of the worst dining experiences of the 21st century. Despite receiving an email in October assuring that previous issues had been resolved, our meal was disappointing. We were seated at a bad table away from the main dining area, served the wrong bottle of champagne, and experienced slow service. The fish and chips had a suspect flavor and we were about to leave when the food finally arrived. I cannot recommend this re...
