"First time trying a Gordon Ramsay restaurant and definitely wouldn’t go to one again! We ordered the beef wellington for two it was tough and chewy, no taste whatsoever. Mushrooms tasted burnt inside. When we told the staff we weren’t happy the chef told us that fillet isn’t supposed to have a taste! And it was seasoned perfectly! Very shocked as we enjoy beef wellington and fillet whenever we eat out (which is often! and we have never found it tough or tasteless anywhere else! Very disappointed as we don’t live in London and travelled up just for this meal. I would recommend to anyone to avoid this restaurant! Clearly the chef doesn’t know how to cook and has too big an ego to admit it!"

"Not 100% positive experience. Excellent quality dishes, both in terms of taste and presentation! Fabulous environment to say the least! The only sore point is the service. Very helpful waiters, but we had arrived early for an aperitif and had to wait 20 minutes to receive our drink, only to be instantly moved to the table where we were supposed to have dinner. Later one of the diners received the fillet with the wrong cooking and in practice we had to eat at different times. I understand that these are circumstances that can happen, but certain situations, if you go to a place like aquashard, which has very high standards and costs, these shortcomings are not tolerated, especially in important events. I want to think that it was just luck and that normally things work much better"

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bread Street Kitchen Bar and indulging in their Beef Wellington experience, and it surpassed all expectations. From start to finish, every aspect of the meal was impeccable. Firstly, the Beef Wellington itself was a culinary masterpiece. Cooked to perfection, the tender beef was encased in a delicate puff pastry that melted in my mouth with every bite. The rich, savory flavors were perfectly balanced, making each forkful a delightful experience. Not only was the food exceptional, but the service was also top-notch. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every detail of our dining experience was attended to. From the warm welcome at the door to the attentive servers who guided us through the menu, the level of professionalism and hospitality was truly commendable. Moreover, the ambiance of Bread Street Kitchen Bar added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. The stylish yet inviting atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience. In summary, my Beef Wellington experience at Bread Street Kitchen Bar was nothing short of extraordinary. From the exquisite cuisine to the impeccable service, every aspect of the evening exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend Bread Street Kitchen Bar to anyone looking for a superb dining experience. Five stars without a doubt!"

"Thank you Lutyens for another excellent lunch. My sister who joined me as my guest had a broken foot and the manager and staff were most accommodating in finding a box to stand it on so it was raised. The Dover sole is always very good but as a beer drinker could they stock Birra Moretti as well as Peroni as the former is much nicer and it's what the Italians drink!"

"inviting, with a lovely smell of freshly-brewed cappuccino as soon as you walk through the door. The breakfast options are enough to lift your spirits and prepare you for the day ahead. And the best part? It's just a short walk from our apartment."

"“The Peckham Spring” The heading will become apparent later in this review. On the 22nd September, we had a table booked for 4, it was both couples weeding anniversary’s. We arrived 20mins early to have a drink in the bar. This was the point when we should of left. Ordering 4 drinks from exceptional young an inexperienced staff was a challenge. The drinks took ages to be made (at this point there was only 2 other guests in there). 3 cocktails and a beer, all of the cocktails were spilt by the waitress on serving and were not made correctly. At the table, We ordered wine and still water (bottled). This is where the heading for this review arrives from. This restaurant, (I use that terminology loosely), severs “tap water” in mineral water bottles and chargers £5.00 for it. (Del Boy must be running this joint)! We have been fortunate to have traveled far and wide in this country and abroad and never come across this deceitful act which is inessential fraud and theft. You may ask why do we “assume “ this?, well firstly Ely water has a distinct taste and secondly the bottle was open prior to arriving at the table and they had filled it right to the top! Shame on you Poets House. So on to the food, 4 starters, all below average. 4 mains, that all being sirloin steaks. My “plate of food” was probably the absolute worst dish I have ever had presented in front of me. A side salad straight out of a bag, un washed or dressed, a cold mushroom which wasn’t seasoned or warm, a steak which hadn’t been seared or cooked correctly to medium rare and was completely un edible and wouldn’t cut with a steak knife. This was accompanied with a bucket of chips which was dripping in oil. The only positive part to this review is that the waiter who served us is the only asset this establishment has. I voiced all of this to the said gentleman on the evening, and what was disheartening was that he total agreed with everything we mentioned. The owners, the management and the (cook) (as they don’t have a chef), need to be educated by their waiter if they have any chance of this establishment improving. In conclusion to this review, I strongly advise anyone looking for a decent plate of food to avoid booking the Poets House,Ely."

"gaucho is very renown for its incomparable Argentine steaks in the offer. to be fair when they are a bark lover, this place cannot disappoint them. the meat especially the ancho cut is absolutely sublime and quite literally melts in her mouth. the sides of gauchos are also very respectable, although veggies had come a bit cold last time, I visited the place. the service is excellent of what I remember and extremely professional. to be fair, you can say they expect this for the price they pay their flesh. that brings me out of my mind to the negative of gaucho. I would say that the decor is too dark and mysterious. I agree that this was nice when gaucho first came, but it has now reached a stage where it should refresh its vision and maybe go easier? second, the meat is good, but also very expensive for normal man. third, Argentine steak eating is terrible for the environmental consciousness and meets me every time I eat there. overall but, great place and luxurious eating. my advice: don't hesitate a second when they're looking for a big steak. gaucho is the place enjoys!"

"This a wonderful experience except the service is absolutely terrible I cannot understand why in a super luxury hotel and a top environment that was reasonably full, one is essentially ignored by staff who mostly were standing around or talking to each other It was appalling."

"Bottomless Brunch. Beware! Something is always amiss when they don 't show you pics of all that is supposedly 'bottomless '. Aside from your main, drinks are bottomless, and the only other food are salads and 1 type of bread. There 's no pastas, rice, or oysters as you see in the pics. Don 't be fooled. Service was amazing, but it was our first and last time there. We will go stick with the Oxbo Restaurant brunch, which includes SO much food AND desserts for the same price!!!"

"Just really really slow not great service. Specified it was a corporate lunch and the main server (lady) was just really unhelpful and really giving us disdained looks all meal. Often tried to catch people’s attention during the meal and they’d look the other way. A shame, because I had been a week before and enjoyed myself a lot for a corporate lunch, it was spot on, the server was wonderful."

"Expensive, but WORTH IT. I mean, it is not a restaurant anyone would hope to be cheap anyway. First of all, as expected: really good service. The only bad thing is we waited quite a bit between courses. I had the festive menu of: confit Loch Duart salmon, beef wellington, and chocolate and hazelnut parfait. They were all beautifully plated. We got complimentary consomme, delicious butter (from a famous butter maker if I may add), and sourdough bread. In the end we also got chocolate and caramel truffle which was very good. Now the main dishes. The salmon was just okay, until I combined it with a little bit of everything on the plate: cucumber sauce, cream cheese, and wasabi sorbet. The flavours blend perfectly well. But if you like smooth foie gras and crispy chicken skin, I suggest trying the other appetizer since I tried my friend's and it was MORE delicious. The beef wellington was really good, with well seasoned pastry, ham, mushroom covering, and pink fillet. Together with the bordelaise sauce it was stunning. I love coffee, so I ordered the parfait which was really good. The jelly was tiny though. If you love dark chocolate, get the chocolate cremeux."

"This restaurant was extremely loud for the price you pay. It was difficult to have a conversation because the tables were too close together. When paying a premium for a meal, I expect better ambiance. The service was subpar, with the staff appearing stressed or indifferent. I had to flag down the waiter to place my order, as he left before I could order my side dish. However, the food was of good quality, so credit to the chef for that."

"Fabulous evening for a family celebration. We were very well looked after by our host Emanuela and served amazing food by the very talented chefs here Josh on the Josper Grill, Marco who made an incredible heritage tomato dish, Elliot with his oat biscuits and gorgeous desserts, Sam the rest of the brigade. Delicious! Our sommelier listened to our requirements and selected some lovely wines to complement the food. Not a cheap evening but worth every penny for a special occasion"

"First and foremost, some have mentioned that locating the restaurant can be a bit challenging. I experienced the same issue, so head to St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel by walking up the slope, veer to the far right of the building's facade, pass through the arch, and then turn left along the Upper Concourse until you arrive at the Brasserie. The service was exceptional and unhurried, the setting was pristine, and each course was presented with a relaxed interval between servings. The dishes were plated beautifully, although the portion of pork belly was small and overshadowed by the charred hispi cabbage. The Searcys gin-cured salmon gravadlax was superb, but my favorite was the Rhubarb Eton Mess dessert. There was a great variety of Champagnes to choose from, which is not surprising considering Searcys renowned Champagne Bar is located just opposite the restaurant's entrance."

"I was pleasantly surprised with the entire experience. The food was plentiful (they offered refills of the sandwiches), fresh and delicious. I had the classic afternoon tea which is what you would expect with finger sandwiches, mini quiche, salmon bun, 2 scones (fruit and plain) as well as 5 mini desserts. My husband tried the gentleman's tea and this was outstanding. There was a plate of fish and chips with mushy peas and tartar sauce. There was another plate with 3 other good sized portioned sandwiches. He had an olive scone with blue cheese butter, delish! Then a mini quiche and lemon macaron. We both had a black tea which was very good as well. The view of the Thames was nice. The only downside to the experience was I asked for a different table and she said it was already reserved. However, for the entire time we were there no one sat at that table. So that was a bit disappointing. Otherwise, I highly recommend."

"We were the only ones in the patio and yet it took 30' to get our food (5 of us). When we asked for clarifications on the menu such as ingredients of the accompanying sauce for the salad or which ones were the seasonal vegetables, she couldn't answer. While we appreciated to be left alone, we were literally left alone. While they had an internal lunch going on at the opposite side and they were all focused on it. Food was great though and I appreciated they had gluten free bread for me."

"only returned from a beautiful week in y a and it was perfect in every sight! we were in a superior room that had a lot of space for the 2 of us. the bathroom was huge to london standards) and the floor heating was fantastic, after the move to return london for the day. breakfast every morning was wonderful, like the flat white ones! we only upgraded one tomorrow, as the continental offer was so impressive! the most beautiful fruit salads, the yogurt with granola and fruit-comonate....almost the trip alone worth it! y a was the perfect basis for tour london, we found ourselves most often rides, as the look of the second level was fantastic! buses to take us where we wanted to go were no longer that 2 blocks away. after a busy day in the inner city of london it was so pleasant to be back in relatiw quiet location of camden town in just 20-30 minutes. the return to the same few faces at the reception and our little boutique hotel made the london experience so intimate. with so many places to eat we have only eaten one night in y a. we chose pizza from the wood burning stove. I was a bit embarrassing to be that the guest is asked to sit in the less formal pizza salon instead of the formal dining room and the personal was happy to accommodate! the pizza was fantastic as you are expected! and huge! we ordered 2 but you would have been perfect for the exchange. many thanks to the entire team at y a! they have made our trip perfect! "Food was excellent and served quickly. There were of course on 4 people in the restaurant other than the staff. The steak was really really good and cooked exactly as I had asked for. I thought £3 for some horse radish on the side was ridiculous. The fact the everything is a side at additional cost is a bit much. Nothing was offered included in the price of the steak. So by the time you have say mashed potato, and two veg plus the horse radish you've added £21 to a £43 steak. Pity they no longer have table cloths so it no longer feels like fine dining for a fine dining price. However, the service was excellent as was the food hence the positive rating. The restaurant and its outside tables (in a narrow side street) are a bit gloomy compared with the old location."
