"Thank you Lutyens for another excellent lunch. My sister who joined me as my guest had a broken foot and the manager and staff were most accommodating in finding a box to stand it on so it was raised. The Dover sole is always very good but as a beer drinker could they stock Birra Moretti as well as Peroni as the former is much nicer and it's what the Italians drink!"

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bread Street Kitchen Bar and indulging in their Beef Wellington experience, and it surpassed all expectations. From start to finish, every aspect of the meal was impeccable. Firstly, the Beef Wellington itself was a culinary masterpiece. Cooked to perfection, the tender beef was encased in a delicate puff pastry that melted in my mouth with every bite. The rich, savory flavors were perfectly balanced, making each forkful a delightful experience. Not only was the food exceptional, but the service was also top-notch. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every detail of our dining experience was attended to. From the warm welcome at the door to the attentive servers who guided us through the menu, the level of professionalism and hospitality was truly commendable. Moreover, the ambiance of Bread Street Kitchen Bar added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. The stylish yet inviting atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience. In summary, my Beef Wellington experience at Bread Street Kitchen Bar was nothing short of extraordinary. From the exquisite cuisine to the impeccable service, every aspect of the evening exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend Bread Street Kitchen Bar to anyone looking for a superb dining experience. Five stars without a doubt!"

"inviting, with a lovely smell of freshly-brewed cappuccino as soon as you walk through the door. The breakfast options are enough to lift your spirits and prepare you for the day ahead. And the best part? It's just a short walk from our apartment."

"Not 100% positive experience. Excellent quality dishes, both in terms of taste and presentation! Fabulous environment to say the least! The only sore point is the service. Very helpful waiters, but we had arrived early for an aperitif and had to wait 20 minutes to receive our drink, only to be instantly moved to the table where we were supposed to have dinner. Later one of the diners received the fillet with the wrong cooking and in practice we had to eat at different times. I understand that these are circumstances that can happen, but certain situations, if you go to a place like aquashard, which has very high standards and costs, these shortcomings are not tolerated, especially in important events. I want to think that it was just luck and that normally things work much better"

"Just really really slow not great service. Specified it was a corporate lunch and the main server (lady) was just really unhelpful and really giving us disdained looks all meal. Often tried to catch people’s attention during the meal and they’d look the other way. A shame, because I had been a week before and enjoyed myself a lot for a corporate lunch, it was spot on, the server was wonderful."

"We were the only ones in the patio and yet it took 30' to get our food (5 of us). When we asked for clarifications on the menu such as ingredients of the accompanying sauce for the salad or which ones were the seasonal vegetables, she couldn't answer. While we appreciated to be left alone, we were literally left alone. While they had an internal lunch going on at the opposite side and they were all focused on it. Food was great though and I appreciated they had gluten free bread for me."

"only returned from a beautiful week in y a and it was perfect in every sight! we were in a superior room that had a lot of space for the 2 of us. the bathroom was huge to london standards) and the floor heating was fantastic, after the move to return london for the day. breakfast every morning was wonderful, like the flat white ones! we only upgraded one tomorrow, as the continental offer was so impressive! the most beautiful fruit salads, the yogurt with granola and fruit-comonate....almost the trip alone worth it! y a was the perfect basis for tour london, we found ourselves most often rides, as the look of the second level was fantastic! buses to take us where we wanted to go were no longer that 2 blocks away. after a busy day in the inner city of london it was so pleasant to be back in relatiw quiet location of camden town in just 20-30 minutes. the return to the same few faces at the reception and our little boutique hotel made the london experience so intimate. with so many places to eat we have only eaten one night in y a. we chose pizza from the wood burning stove. I was a bit embarrassing to be that the guest is asked to sit in the less formal pizza salon instead of the formal dining room and the personal was happy to accommodate! the pizza was fantastic as you are expected! and huge! we ordered 2 but you would have been perfect for the exchange. many thanks to the entire team at y a! they have made our trip perfect! "“The Peckham Spring” The heading will become apparent later in this review. On the 22nd September, we had a table booked for 4, it was both couples weeding anniversary’s. We arrived 20mins early to have a drink in the bar. This was the point when we should of left. Ordering 4 drinks from exceptional young an inexperienced staff was a challenge. The drinks took ages to be made (at this point there was only 2 other guests in there). 3 cocktails and a beer, all of the cocktails were spilt by the waitress on serving and were not made correctly. At the table, We ordered wine and still water (bottled). This is where the heading for this review arrives from. This restaurant, (I use that terminology loosely), severs “tap water” in mineral water bottles and chargers £5.00 for it. (Del Boy must be running this joint)! We have been fortunate to have traveled far and wide in this country and abroad and never come across this deceitful act which is inessential fraud and theft. You may ask why do we “assume “ this?, well firstly Ely water has a distinct taste and secondly the bottle was open prior to arriving at the table and they had filled it right to the top! Shame on you Poets House. So on to the food, 4 starters, all below average. 4 mains, that all being sirloin steaks. My “plate of food” was probably the absolute worst dish I have ever had presented in front of me. A side salad straight out of a bag, un washed or dressed, a cold mushroom which wasn’t seasoned or warm, a steak which hadn’t been seared or cooked correctly to medium rare and was completely un edible and wouldn’t cut with a steak knife. This was accompanied with a bucket of chips which was dripping in oil. The only positive part to this review is that the waiter who served us is the only asset this establishment has. I voiced all of this to the said gentleman on the evening, and what was disheartening was that he total agreed with everything we mentioned. The owners, the management and the (cook) (as they don’t have a chef), need to be educated by their waiter if they have any chance of this establishment improving. In conclusion to this review, I strongly advise anyone looking for a decent plate of food to avoid booking the Poets House,Ely."

"Food was excellent and served quickly. There were of course on 4 people in the restaurant other than the staff. The steak was really really good and cooked exactly as I had asked for. I thought £3 for some horse radish on the side was ridiculous. The fact the everything is a side at additional cost is a bit much. Nothing was offered included in the price of the steak. So by the time you have say mashed potato, and two veg plus the horse radish you've added £21 to a £43 steak. Pity they no longer have table cloths so it no longer feels like fine dining for a fine dining price. However, the service was excellent as was the food hence the positive rating. The restaurant and its outside tables (in a narrow side street) are a bit gloomy compared with the old location."

"For the price you pay, this place is extremely noisy. It was difficult to have a conversation since the tables are packed too closely together. When I'm spending so much on a meal, I expect a better atmosphere. The service was lacking as well; the staff appeared either overwhelmed or indifferent. I had to actually call the gentleman back just to order my sides after he walked away immediately following my main order. On a positive note, the quality of the food was good, so hats off to the chef!"

"After dining at Paternoster for several years, we have noticed a decline in their attention to detail. They no longer offer freshly baked bread, choosing instead to serve just two slices at the same price. Despite this, we still find the food and service to be very good, although they no longer provide their signature little boxes of toothpicks."

"Lunching with a client based close by. So many restaurants in the area have closed, Oscar a safe bet. Tried to book on line, got 90% through the process then they asked for my credit card details for a lunch booking for two at a pretty ordinary, hotel based restaurant. Seems OTT and made me uncomfortable. So I rang them, made the reservation, no credit card details needed. Daft. Staff were brilliant, great beers, food was fantastic pork schnitzel was superb but a little expensive adding chicken to the Caesar salad added £10 to the price! Added. The salad was already £20. For a Casar salad! Thus, £30 all up. Punchy."

"Hoi Polloi is a cool retro/hipster place to eat with 70's retro design. So if your criteria for a good restaurant is a modern/updated flashing design, Hoi Polloi is not the place for you. We came for dinner and we were left with a big smile on our faces. The selection on the menu is nice, though it's definitely not one of these menus that take you hours to read, leaving you confused with endless options, and still there's enough selection for everyone. The food was great, nice portions, well made. Hospitality was great and the staff was handy in recommending drinks. We really enjoyed our dinner. Thanks for the experience."

"Bottomless Brunch. Beware! Something is always amiss when they don 't show you pics of all that is supposedly 'bottomless '. Aside from your main, drinks are bottomless, and the only other food are salads and 1 type of bread. There 's no pastas, rice, or oysters as you see in the pics. Don 't be fooled. Service was amazing, but it was our first and last time there. We will go stick with the Oxbo Restaurant brunch, which includes SO much food AND desserts for the same price!!!"

"We had a wonderful evening at this restaurant. The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was beautiful. We chose to dine here because it was close to our hotel, and we are so happy we did. The cocktails were great, and our starters of crab ravioli and chicory and gorgonzola salad were delicious. Our main courses of chicken breast and spatchcock poussin were outstanding. We also enjoyed a lovely bottle of Chablis with our meal. We highly recommend this restaurant and plan on returning before we leave London."

"Ideally located for the theatre district, offering excellent prix fixe menus and a comprehensive European Austrian menu in elegant ambience. Food and service was flawless and banquet seating was comfortable..We were greeted by Eva who found us the perfect table. The best chicken schnitzel in London, I am told by my son; compared favourably to big Sister, The Wolseley."

"Since living in the UK, there's been a constant mantra that I've heard: If you want good Fish and Chips you have to go to the North. (To be fair, it's made mostly by Northerners. Since we were in Blackpool for the weekend, I decided Fish and Chips was a definite requirement, and since the majority of restaurants in Blackpool were absolutely frightening looking from the outside, we went to Harry Ramsden's. It's a fairly big restaurant, so it was quite easy to walk in on a Saturday afternoon and get a table. The service is great, as they woman seating us gave us a large table so that we could put all of our stuff (including a trombone in the seating next to us. And since we were only two, it was especially nice of her to use that much space for us. We both had fish and chips, because that's what you should have at a fish and chips restaurant. Now to be fair, it was a little bit better than our local place back in Enfield. The fish was well cooked and had a crispy, tasty batter. The chips weren't soggy. The mushy peas were fairly average. There wasn't enough tartare sauce for my liking, and I'm sure I could have asked for more, but the service wasn't that attentive. So good Fish and Chips but hardly the best (that is still reserved for a place in Cornwall . I think I'm still on the lookout for that perfectly amazing Fish and Chips in the UK."
