"our breakfast was bad! my man ordered the filled banana-french toast. what he served was burned two halves, and very hard to chew French toast. a half of the toast had a small disc muddy pampered banane (so he did not end up eating part of the French toast to become sick) and another half of the French toast had no banana! my egg beedict was such a small part, half an English muffin and 2 small eggs. one was cooked and the other was runny (as should be an eier benedict.) I would like to point out, however, that the prices for the right prices for lidon, which are not acceptable to these Scottish foods. with two coffees, our bill was just over £30... a complete and total waste of money! the waitress had no idea of the food they served, we were shocked when our food arrived because it looked like we had ordered nothing. So we asked the staff if it was the right order, and they didn't know. So they took our food back to the kitchen and brought us the same food again. then another employee came to our table, looked at the food, asked for our food to take back to the kitchen and brought the same back to us! I don't want to say anything. avoid this restaurant."

"I opted for the healthiest thing on the menu! Not like me but I felt like my body needed it, it was immense, so many flavours on one plate with lovely grilled chicken Staff were super friendly and attentive especially to my elderly mum in her wheelchair My mum is a super complainer and she never moaned once, so that's a feat in itself, well done lol"

"Hoi Polloi is a cool retro/hipster place to eat with 70's retro design. So if your criteria for a good restaurant is a modern/updated flashing design, Hoi Polloi is not the place for you. We came for dinner and we were left with a big smile on our faces. The selection on the menu is nice, though it's definitely not one of these menus that take you hours to read, leaving you confused with endless options, and still there's enough selection for everyone. The food was great, nice portions, well made. Hospitality was great and the staff was handy in recommending drinks. We really enjoyed our dinner. Thanks for the experience."

"Lunching with a client based close by. So many restaurants in the area have closed, Oscar a safe bet. Tried to book on line, got 90% through the process then they asked for my credit card details for a lunch booking for two at a pretty ordinary, hotel based restaurant. Seems OTT and made me uncomfortable. So I rang them, made the reservation, no credit card details needed. Daft. Staff were brilliant, great beers, food was fantastic pork schnitzel was superb but a little expensive adding chicken to the Caesar salad added £10 to the price! Added. The salad was already £20. For a Casar salad! Thus, £30 all up. Punchy."

"there was something good and unfortunately not so good with our meal. everything would have been better if we had a good service, but it was terrible. I just don't think that our waitress looked after or she was completely uninterested to make a pleasant experience for us. we started with the oysters and were very good. for the main dishes also the sea bass and cod with chorizo were very good. everything was mediocre, and for the price it should have been excellent. we had gone for the look at that, but we sat in a counter that could not be seen, that closed so that we were also cheated on it. we are not going back."

"We had a wonderful evening at this restaurant. The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was beautiful. We chose to dine here because it was close to our hotel, and we are so happy we did. The cocktails were great, and our starters of crab ravioli and chicory and gorgonzola salad were delicious. Our main courses of chicken breast and spatchcock poussin were outstanding. We also enjoyed a lovely bottle of Chablis with our meal. We highly recommend this restaurant and plan on returning before we leave London."

"Ideally located for the theatre district, offering excellent prix fixe menus and a comprehensive European Austrian menu in elegant ambience. Food and service was flawless and banquet seating was comfortable..We were greeted by Eva who found us the perfect table. The best chicken schnitzel in London, I am told by my son; compared favourably to big Sister, The Wolseley."

"We are partial to an afternoon tea and have attended many. This was a very good one and we did enjoy it very much. We had a lovely table at the back of the restaurant and our waitress was lovely. The ambience and the decor in the restaurant was excellent and the location for our theatre visit was perfect. On the whole the experience was excellent and we would return. The scones were probably the best we 've had for a long time. We all agreed they were delicious. So light inside with a fine crust on the outside. Bit disappointing we had to share the jam and cream just give everyone their own to avoid the have you had enough? or pass the cream scenarios. The sandwiches were delicious too, but we felt for the money a bit mean. Just one round each, ie four finger sandwiches. Many afternoon teas in this price range would have topped up the savoury, but this didn 't happen here. No small quiches or pastries, just four finger sandwiches. The sweet cakes and pastries were clearly made on the premises and we all thought, apart from the chocolate and passion fruit that they were delicious and expertly made. None of us enjoyed the chocolate and passion fruit tart. Also, we had to ask for our tea to be topped up. The cocktails were a nice added touch, but they were very small and again, none of us like the combo of the chocolate and passionfruit cocktail. All in all though, lovely surroundings, good service and mainly delicious food with the best scones in town!"

"Since living in the UK, there's been a constant mantra that I've heard: If you want good Fish and Chips you have to go to the North. (To be fair, it's made mostly by Northerners. Since we were in Blackpool for the weekend, I decided Fish and Chips was a definite requirement, and since the majority of restaurants in Blackpool were absolutely frightening looking from the outside, we went to Harry Ramsden's. It's a fairly big restaurant, so it was quite easy to walk in on a Saturday afternoon and get a table. The service is great, as they woman seating us gave us a large table so that we could put all of our stuff (including a trombone in the seating next to us. And since we were only two, it was especially nice of her to use that much space for us. We both had fish and chips, because that's what you should have at a fish and chips restaurant. Now to be fair, it was a little bit better than our local place back in Enfield. The fish was well cooked and had a crispy, tasty batter. The chips weren't soggy. The mushy peas were fairly average. There wasn't enough tartare sauce for my liking, and I'm sure I could have asked for more, but the service wasn't that attentive. So good Fish and Chips but hardly the best (that is still reserved for a place in Cornwall . I think I'm still on the lookout for that perfectly amazing Fish and Chips in the UK."

"At the arrival we had to wait as they couldn't find the booking. When ordering one of my guest asked to have the chicken breast without sweetcorn and after the waiter came back saying the chef explained the sweetcorn is the main ingredient in the menu as it's cooked 3 ways and not having sweetcorn would alter the original taste of the recipes, my guest asked if something else could be added instead. When the food was delivered the staff didn't ensure we had everything we needed, salt and pepper were missing and a check back wasn't given throughout the dinner. The chips were dry and far overcooked, the RibEye was uneatable, the duck breast was tough, chewy and overcooked, the haddock dish was oversalted. Everything was a complete disappointment and not worthy all that money!"

"Made plans to come here for lunch after a morning visit to Camera Obscura which is just a little way up the mile. Been here before years ago loved it…love it still! Great ambience, fantastic service and amazing food all hot, fresh and tasty. Large portions too! I can definitely recommend the haggis bites they’re delicious. Shout out to our sever Sophie who was lovely; welcoming, friendly efficient. Love this place will return."

"The establishment exhibited exceptional customer service. Our server was courteous and made a concerted effort to accommodate our request for a gluten-free meal. The cleanliness of the pub/restaurant was satisfactory. Would definitely use again."

"Unfortunately, the restaurant was packed the night we went. We had made a reservation through Open Table for a party of 4 but were treated as walk-ins and given a table near the door and next to a table of 10 who were extremely loud. As a result, the service was below par and we could hardly hear ourselves over the din. The wine waiter was lacking in education and skills and we were left to pour our own wines during the meal. The food was also below par— 3 of us had the house specialty (schnitzel) which was dry and lacking in presentation. Overall, this was a disappointing experience compared to favourable dining at other restaurants in the group — Bellanger and Colbert."

"Insufficient vegetables. Booked a table in advance and arrived just after opening to find the only other customers had been placed on the table next to ours. Felt odd being in a large space with the only customers sat at adjoining tables. Standards are slipping food wise and your very good reputation will disappear quickly if not arrested."

"Food was reasonable although a bit overpriced. Although that is almost always the case in Chelsea you expect a bit more for a ribeye that costs £39 (at least hand cut fries iso average McDonald’s ones). The service was also mediocre although the Manager was attentive and friendly. Lastly: the continuous delivery people picking up orders is also a bit annoying …"

"We should have read the reviews before we came then perhaps we wouldn’t have come! The cocktails were lovely but sadly that is the only good thing to say about our experience. The staff with the exception of the manager were bored and had no clue what was going on, service was really slow and they acted like they’d rather be anywhere else but there and food was rubbish, cold and over priced! We were a party of 6 and the first meal came out a good 30 mins before the last meal which was then cold, when we queried this we were told it was because it’s Tapas! It’s literally pizza and tacos, my teenage kids could cook for 6 and make it be ready at the same time!! We were celebrating 2 birthdays, I’d dropped a cake off before arriving but they didn’t bring that, a celebration they sucked the life out. If you want a nice adult meal this is not the place for you, if you want cold food with bored slow staff and rubbish food this is the place for you so book now!!"

"I have been in the filling station in the omni center, edinburgh several times. I love eating American style along with the friendly service. the filling station coast to coast is an american restaurant bar. the atmosphere is created by playing classic American soundtracks and retro decoration. my favourite dish that I always go back and forth are the kentucky wings with Louisiana sauce. nom! and of course there is always space for one or two of the desert:D read them on my blog posts from the cocktail master class that is hosted by filling station and reintroducing the filling station in the edinburgh royal mile."

"really great mood in the bar area, efficient service to our drinks and many tables to accommodate us, good choice on the menu my only suggestion would perhaps be another meat selection instead of 2 steak selections, eating was very simple but clean and tidy plating. my only small critique is on the dessert wine list that they had a harbour but no cheese selection, but this is more a personal preference, as I have no massive sweet tooth. well done and we will return soon"

"This restaurant is overrated, overpriced and overall a below average experience. We visited for brunch, the prawn and crab eggs Benedict was ok but nothing right write home about. The minute steak was too chewy and hard to cut with the steak knife they provided and when we told our waiter he offered another knife!!! They also offered to change it but advised it would all be the same! The blueberry pancake I ordered because obviously I couldn’t eat the steak was quite dense. I wouldn’t eat here again."
