"Thank you Lutyens for another excellent lunch. My sister who joined me as my guest had a broken foot and the manager and staff were most accommodating in finding a box to stand it on so it was raised. The Dover sole is always very good but as a beer drinker could they stock Birra Moretti as well as Peroni as the former is much nicer and it's what the Italians drink!"

"Amazing food and excellent service, my friend complained about one of the wines to the end and they offered us free digestive drinks to make sure! Overall the ambience was great and very attentive!"

"We were the first table seated and the service was very prompt with catering to our needs. We had the octopus and scallops as a starter. About 5 minutes later food was out. The scallops out of the two dishes were the winner. Great depth of flavour great balance of salt to sweet to sour and the nduja added that hint of spice. The octopus was also good. Nice cook on the Octo and we'll balance I just felt it needed a bit more depth to hit the palate correctly. On to the mains but before that can someone please turn off the alarm from the staircase right beside us please, it's so Annoying. Wild boar Ragu for me and lobster for the Mrs. Again I chose the winning dish. The lobster dish was semi drowning in a water puddle of flavourful broth. We both wished they would of rendered/reduce, thicken that broth to make remove it from its homogeneous state. The Ragu the best of the two dishes wasn't wowsers but, still good. I would of loved a bit more acidity and a layer of fat left behind on my tongue. It was simple and nice which makes it a great dish. Tell you what doesn't make it a great dish when the staff is laying down the law to what seemed to be a new staff memember who decided to wear his own vest coat to work when he shouldn't have. We were the only ones in the restaurant so we were the only ones who witnessed it but, not the right time or place for it. After they sent him to the corner for timeout the staff brought out a nice mango dessert to excuse for the Loud beeping which had still been running loud throughout the whole service. Overall a decent meal you pay for the premium of the location. Would I come again, yes but with a game plan and an extra vest coat"

"Really unhappy about overall experience, the service is good and everyone was attentive . But we have chosen to celebrate special occasion , birthday and there was no vibe in the restaurant, all the tables were empty and just nothing special about the place."

"The restaurant is in a hotel and did not look like the photos. It was nonetheless quite nice (we went to the bar area as the traditional restaurant looked very much like a typical hotel restaurant). The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the food was good (burgers pasta). It was a little on the pricey side but not too bad and really nice quality. The wines were very expensive with the house bottles being at £37.50. The house white was particularly nice though. We shared a large tasty cheese cake. I'm not sure I would go there again because I have travelled a lot and try and avoid hotels but it is a good place."

"For the price you pay, this place is extremely noisy. It was difficult to have a conversation since the tables are packed too closely together. When I'm spending so much on a meal, I expect a better atmosphere. The service was lacking as well; the staff appeared either overwhelmed or indifferent. I had to actually call the gentleman back just to order my sides after he walked away immediately following my main order. On a positive note, the quality of the food was good, so hats off to the chef!"

"Who knew there was an outdoor ski lodge just behind the British Museum?? The Montague had done a fantastic job of recreating a covered bar and informal dining area in their patio area and it was great fun! The menu set up was different to what was described on TT there was no set price anything which made it more expensive than expected but also more flexible as two of our group ended up not drinking. The two choices of fondue were delicious and the tasting platter looked amazing. Service was really friendlyalthough there were times when the bar was unattended so we had to wait for more drinks etc but that was minor as the staff had really got into the spirit and made it a really great experience. I'll definitely be returning next year"

"I am going to post my âtrip advisor review â because honestly I have given this too much time already. No word from my personal email to the restaurant. Vacillating between Terrible and Poor This is probably my meal at Tom's Kitchen since it opened. I am a huge long time fan of Tom Aitkens, his innovative delivery and passion about both fine food and food for the people. Some years ago he had a Fish Market/ Fish and Chippery a bit down the road on Cale Street. I have a huge amount of respect for his dedication towards sustainable food sources and sustainable fishing.. BUT if this was my meal at Tom's Kitchen this meal and the meal about months ago fall into the basket of the worst dining experiences of the Century. I only rebooked because I received an email in October that their difficulties had been sorted out. Apparently not as the meal was not only deja vu but worse. We were seated at an awful table away from the main part of the dining area despite having booked about weeks earlier. No one was seated near us for the duration of our meal. We were served the wrong bottle of champagne and when we pointed this out there was a bit of a scene. The service was very slow, and the food (well it was a Monday but the fish and chips had a fishy suspect flavour). We were actually about to pay and leave before our food arrived hoping to walk into. nearby Thai restaurant but the food arrived before we could ask for the bill. I don't know what to say. I can neither recommend the restaurant or ever even consider returning Date of visit: December"

"This was the most recommended place for afternoon tea from our London locals that we know- and it certainly lived up to our expectations for the experience. The Wolseley is known for its afternoon tea and overall environment it eludes. We were greeted by a doorwoman who directed us to the hostess and we were promptly seated for our reservation. The service was quick and for tea was wonderful. Overall the sandwiches and biscuits were good, however, I was not necessarily a fan of the desserts. I will say they are very accommodating with allergies and that was very nice. Afternoon tea per person costs around 44.95 euros and it comes with a tea pot of tea with your choice and a tower with hand sandwiches, 3 biscuits, and a variety of pastries/desserts."

"The dining experience was excellent, set in a beautiful environment, and surprisingly affordable. It might be a bit too quiet for those looking for a lively atmosphere, but we really enjoyed the restaurant and our meal. It's a shame that there weren't more diners, but that was the only downside!"

"Great little Indian restaurant, if a little out of the way! The meals are good, very authentic. The set dinners are very good value as well under for more than enough for people. Chicken dishes are the most impressive – big, tender chunks of chicken breast … delicious! The sauces are mouth watering, and very more-ish not ‘heavy’ like you’ll find in some other Indian restaurants. The only downside to this little place is delivery time we often wait more than an hour for our meal to be delivered, although this could be a glowing testament to how popular Mirage is!"

"Food was sub standard. Ordered the ginger and chill crab and cod cakes with a sweet corn relish type of thing. Couldn’t taste any chilli or ginger. Cod wasn’t fresh and over cooked. Sweet corn relish was so sweet it couldn’t been a dessert. Staff weren’t naturally warm and friendly. Polite but wooden. Sat inside (first day of covid regulations being relaxed) and it was freezing. Other diners had thick winter coats on whilst eating. Whole place lacked atmosphere. £80 for 2 people, 2 course with half bottle of wine. Not worth it at all. Had a latte pre food. Tasted like a sachet!! Awful. Would not recommend and will not be back. Didn’t bring it up whilst there as was celebrating a friends birthday and didn’t want to sour her day. Very poor Cowley Manor. Do better!!"

"Continental breakfast has a good selection, but the pastries were the equivalent to a cheap low cost hotel. There are a couple of good bakeries in Cheltenham and would suggest the hotel review their supply chain for these.I decided to pay extra for the full English, and in all honesty, I wish I had not. I could not eat more than a quarter of the sausage as it tasted like a cheap pork sausage. I was also served the smallest poached hens egg I have ever seen you get the picture.Overall, this hotel really really needs to up their game with the quality of their ingredients. The service however was excellent and the waiting staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly"

"This is a very disappointing restaurant. There are now three Tom’s Kitchen restaurants, one in Chelsea (the original restaurant which opened in 2006), one in Somerset House, and now one in Canary Wharf, which opened a few weeks ago, and which I visited as it is located close to my work. Tom’s Kitchen is a modern British brasserie serving comfort food, and tries to use UK-based suppliers wherever possible, and uses sustainable fish and they try to avoid endangered fish like tuna. The owner of these places is the famous chef Tom Aiken. When Tom’s Kitchen first opened in Canary Wharf I was keen to go there and I went there with my work colleagues Deepak and Trevor, and we had a really...read more"

"The laughably poor Irish coffees were almost understandable, but not actually sure how a ‘French restaurant’ albeit fauxFrench, can actually cook a baked Camembert and get it so wrong. The rest of the food was just poor, added to which was generally haphazard service pushy and rushed at the start of the meal vs slow and uncoordinated for after dinner drinks and deserts. We have had passable Aubaine before in Mayfair, but this was just a big fail for Ken’ High St’"

"Four people for an evening meal at 7 pm. We were told our table would be ready in 45 minutes so went and had a drink in a nearby pub. Went back and was seated downstairs. We had to take off our shoes which wasn't...a problem as we have been to Japan before and knew that was a normal procedure. It took a long time for the waiter to ask if we would like a drink then a long time to bring it (only 3 drinks came). It then took a long time to get the 4th drink and order our food. We had to ask for everything, to order drinks, to order food, to ask for the dessert menu. Everything seemed like it was too much trouble for them. We then asked for the bill, the waiter then stood immediately behind us waiting to be paid! I asked him to leave us alone for a few minutes while we checked everything was correct but he just moved slightly to the side....just so rude. We never experienced rudeness like this on our travels around Japan. Food was ok, very expensive and just awful rude staff and service.....Never again!"

"I was very excited to visit this restaurant after the canary wharf display. but I was quite underestimated by all the experience. I had booked the online £20 2 cursor menu plus a cocktail. when we arrived there, none of the employees seemed to know the least I had booked this offer. they seemed a little uncertain what was to be done, and it felt something like we were fed for ourselves. we had to ask several times what the cocktail was and also the set menu was very limited. (on the website will not show them what the set menu is.) we had to wait a long time for our eating, and when it arrived, it was warm and not hot as they would expect. also my friend, who ordered the fish, was very disappointed by the tiny part she was given and had to order a shell of clobig chips to go with him as it came with very little. the puddings were really nice, and almost for the night when I'm honest. I think the biggest disappointment for me was the place, it just didn't have the wow factor for me. I expected butlers wharf chop house or plateau, but it was very minimal and strong and had no warm atmosphere at all. the personal was friendly, and tried her best, but something has not quite come with this place and the price of the meal. I don't think I'd get in there if there are so many other restaurants to choose from."

"I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. While the staff were friendly, they seemed uninterested in providing good service. The maitre'd spent over 40 minutes chatting with one table, neglecting other customers and showing unprofessional behavior. The food was only average, nothing stood out, and the presentation was lacking. I would not recommend this restaurant and I have no plans to visit again."

"I experienced some unfriendly service during my visit. After we received our starters, our plates were promptly cleared as soon as we finished, and our main courses were served without any space in between. This felt quite unacceptable. It seemed like we were rushed to eat and leave. Additionally, the waitstaff stood too close to our table, which made it uncomfortable to have a private conversation. It's really disappointing because the food was actually lovely, but I unfortunately wouldn't choose to return."
"What a beautiful Japanese culinary experience! I started with edamame, spinach sesame, chicken gyoza, Japanese omelette, and inari, all of which were perfect and delicious. The spicy salmon, tuna fish avocado, and shrimp tempura were also excellent. I couldn't pick a favorite because everything was so tasty with fresh seafood. Service was quick and attentive. For my main course, I had chicken katsu with rice and teriyaki chicken donburi. The katsu was perfectly fried and one of my favorites, while the donburi brought me the authentic flavors of Japan. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with great food and hospitality. I will definitely be visiting again!"
