"Stunning surroundings and food but the waiters did not speak good enough English to understand that I am pregnant and let me know what meals were safe for me to eat. They did not understand even when I pointed to my large belly and said 'baby ', and I had mentioned on my booking that I was pregnant so they should have been informed in advance. Worse the hostess who greets guests was quite unkind to my friend for dropping a knife and some butter on the floor (my friend has a nervous disease which affects her motor skills), and informed us we had to leave after 2 hours (even though the restaurant was very empty) and rushed us out of the door. She was again very impatient and frosty with my friend who was struggling to get her coat on (again motor issues mean this can take time). I would have expected more polite staff at such an expensive restaurant, and for language support to be on hand for any waiters who would need it (especially for a food safety matter)."

"I have been a lifelong fan of Japanese cuisine and went most recently went to Tokyo in 2019. Chisou stands above the crowd of all fine dining Japanese restaurants I've been to outside Japan. My mum had been there one time prior and had an...amazing experience, my father and I both went for the first time tonight with her. The menu is a complex and interesting overview of all Japanese cuisine highlights, including a comprehensive menu of Sushi/Sashimi, Noodles (Udon/Soba), Teriyaki/Tempura, and some delightful takes on the traditional izakaya offering. They also offer an extensive sake menu, with some very unique items that complement whatever you choose to order. Beyond their superbly cultivated menu, the service at Chisou can only be described as exceptional. The entire staff truly care if you are having a good time, and are happily there to provide advice on guiding you through your meal. My dad is not a huge fan of raw seafood, and the sushi chef took an interest in challenging his hesitations- he offered us an incredible smoked mackerel as an amuse-bouche to test if my dad would like it, and he did. We ordered a number of starters- the gyoza, fried oysters, uni, and chuuka seaweed salad- all were superb. I was extremely impressed at the freshness and quality of the ingredients, as well as the beauty and care with presentation. For his main, my dad ordered the tofu steak, which was the most velvety and flavourful tofu we have had outside of our favourite place in Tokyo (called I <3 Gyoza). My mum and I had the sashimi omekase for 2, and the consideration from the chef was beyond exceptional. He asked us our preferences, my mum is a fan of ami ebi, I love tako and ika- all 3 were of the highest quality I've experienced. He also took a great interest in how we were enjoying things and continually provided advice or information about what we were eating. The waiting staff was also extremely caring and fun to speak with, and really were happy to see that we enjoyed ourselves. The manager also gave us a wonderful recommendation of an undistilled sake to go with our desserts, that was simply fabulous. Chisou is not just truly fantastic dining in terms of quality of food and service, but a theatrical experience that will make you feel as if you've teleported from London right into a Japanese izakaya. We have already booked a reservation to go back tomorrow and I cannot wait."

"My main memory of this restaurant was how cold it was. It is a large, open space that was not well-heated, and they had rugs and blankets on the chairs inside. There was a constant draft because some of the doors didn't have handles on the inside, making it difficult to close them. The food was decent, but the portion sizes varied greatly - the roast chicken breast was very small, while the chicken burger was huge. The service was not great; they didn't have our reservation, we waited 20 minutes to place our order, and the waitress didn't understand the difference between dairy-free and gluten-free. Once the hostess got involved, the service improved. A quick drink after work would probably be fine, but otherwise I wouldn't bother."

"Surprisingly quiet for a late lunch on Saturday so quiet in fact that the cocktails we had been recommended by the restaurant that we make time to sample were not available because the cocktail barperson was offduty. Once we had passed that disappointment, the rest of the afternoon was very pleasant, aided by excellent service and food that was wellexecuted barring a few bits of shell in the crab salad and a somewhat less than melting portion of belly pork. A very handy venue for the Wigmore Hall, and for Oxford St shoppers looking to escape the retail fray. I'd happily return to this place to see how it's evolving and I still want to sample the cocktail menu"

"Had to wait for table, which wasn't a problem as knew it was busy due to bank holiday, took our order quickly but unfortunately waited nearly an hour for food to come,no one came for quite a while to ask,a larger group of people arrived approx 15 mins after us and had all of their food before us.When it eventually arrived, mine was delicious but my daughters vegan paella was very salty and she couldn't finish it,cheesecakes were outstanding tho."

"Hey, I ate at the selfridges Aubaine. I have never experienced such horrible service and bad attitude of a waiter. I have very rarely had issues with someone at a restaurant before so I know it’s most likely not me but at this restaurant I started feeling very ill all of a sudden so I couldn’t eat my food. I wanted to take it away but I guess it’s not allowed. A man that works there called Ben came to me with the worst attitude I have ever seen, couldn’t wait one second for me to answer and scream “OK you’re not going to listen” while I was feeling extremely sick which is why I couldn’t answer. I didn’t even touch my salad and it was around 25 pounds with the extra I added so I felt bad paying for it and not being able to eat it since It is money I earned and decided to treat myself to a lunch out. This man Ben told me I could just stay here all day if I wanted to eat the salad. So rude, I felt so sad afterwards it ruined my day besides already feeling ill. Will share this on google as well and as much as I can to know how unfairly and bad clients are being treated in this place. Since I’ve never had a bad experience at a restaurant I never send these kinds of emails or write a review but this time I just had to."

"A nice restaurant and well worth a visit while are at the garden centre which is also excellent. A fairly good selection of main meals and light lunches. I have rarely experienced any issues with the availability of menu items and have always been informed of issues when being seated. The burger is good value and with chips makes a main meal."

"Went for lunch and found that the food and service was of high quality. They catered for my wife who has an egg allergy and even discounted her food which is unheard of, in these times. The staff were very friendly and professional and although the Sunday menu is limited (understandable due to the pandemic), the food was great and good value for money. They also had a live musician who was brilliant. We will book again and try the more varied menu in the near future. Also the location is a few minutes from Regents park and ideal for a lovely stroll afterwards. finally, thank you to the staff and management for making it a lovely experience at THE NEW INN."

"I've past this Giraffe a few times in the past and especially in the morning, it's busy in the morning. When you book a table online it will give you two options; standard or top. I booked it standard but I was curious of the top option, so I've changed it and was happy with the result. Location is within 10min of Victoria station, venue has both in/or outdoor seating so option is there. It's not a super big venue but it seems that there are enough decent space between the tables. Service was ok, they were not a lot of people in the restaurant so not sure why it took longer to get our main when my main came, the visual appearance is nice but the chicken was lukewarm and borderline cold. Didn't complain cus I was not sure if the chicken was meant to be cold as the salad plate that I got, well it was cold. It's a nice restaurant and worth a visit. The while Giraffe set up reminds me a bit of Zizi."

"Victors have changed it is more like a tapas style restaurant where dishes arrive at different time. Just very unorganised some people in the party received their food 30 minutes after the rest of the party had finished. Waitress was nice and very pleasant but the kitchen were unable to accommodate any slight change to a dish. Wouldn’t go back or recommend."

"Food was ok. Place was not what it looked liked on the photos. Depends on where you get seated. Either you sit at a very small table with not a nice view at all and dirty mirrors, or you sit at the area of the photos, which is nice. We were not sitting there, unfortunately. Service was good, but they tried to clean up our table two times, while we got our food for minutes and had not finished yet. Would only recommend to eat here, if you are already in Selfridges."

"You can not get worse than that One plate was returned after one bite But was charged because it was touched... "Took going to the front desk twice to get the tv fixed in the room. Initially they sent in housekeeping to try to fix it, then a gentleman around the front desk came in and reset the channels. Waited roughly 4-5 hours. Beds are a little hard, but I am used to memory foam, so may be good for people used to a conventional mattress. Shower is amazingly hot and perfect with a shower head that actually has pressure. Breakfast is great, lots of choices, and very good orange juice. Overall, perfect location for us and easy to get to from London via coach. Rooms: Little small, but efficient for needs. Walkability: Easy to get to from coach, restaurant/pub nearby, and convenient mart in walking distance. Food drinks: Room service available, breakfast with juices and coffee."

"Comfortable though rather informal arrangement of easy chairs and coffee tables in the Lounge Bar. Booked afternoon tea and received excellent service and a great selection of teas. Loved the little egg timers for correct brewing. As I am are allergic to fish I had contacted the hotel previously and was glad to find that the message had got through to the staff in the lounge. They made me a lovely alternative to the in-house smoked salmon of roasted peppers and cream cheese. Scones were amazing though the patisserie selection was a little avant garde for my taste. Well worth £30, not only for the quality and quantity of the food but for the atmosphere and service which made it a special occasion."

"We visited before going to an early show at Ronnie Scott’s. We chose from the 2 course pre theatre set menu at £20.90. I had the Crispy Camembert for starters, which was lovely. The Beef Bourgogne for mains, which was superb. All of our friends equally enjoyed their choices. We will definitely return."

"Only a 15 minute drive from my house now l know where to go for outstanding food. Both myself and my wife were astounded with how delicious the food was. It was nice to have time between courses where we didn't feel rushed unlike some other restaurants that we've been to. We will be bringing family and friends there to dine whenever possible."

"We randomly decided to pop in for some food after some Christmas shopping and wow I'm so glad we did. It was the first time we'd eaten at a Chiquito restaurant and were spoilt for choice as it all sounded so good. We decided to go for one of the sharing platters so we could try a few different things. Service was great, we weren't waiting around long at all and the food was incredible. There were two mini burritos which were packed with the filling, so good! Three pulled pork tacos, even better! And four chicken quesadillas... to die for! Oh and a pot each of sour cream and salsa. Everything was so flavoursome and filled us up nicely. Even though I was struggling with the last couple of bits I could not stop eating. I'm now thinking of an excuse to go back again!"

"Came here for dinner with friends and it was a nice experience. Some of the dishes were superb such as scallops starter, but others were actually not quite as tasty as I’d want food in a restaurant to be. We tried the miso aubergine which for example in Sumosan Twiga is the most delicious side dish you can have, here however, it wasn’t very sweet neither crunchy from outside. The chicken with chickpeas was not really going together in my mouth. The chips with truffle and Parmesan were great. And beef carpaccio was a bit tasteless too. Anyway we still had a lovely experience just not a restaurant I’d return to for the food again."

"We've been big fans of Cafe Rouge, Bath since it opened, and have always appreciated its lively atmosphere and friendly staff. Obviously it's not haute, haute cuisine but good, French style food without too many frills. Today we booked a table for two, as our kids had given us a voucher at Christmas and we thought a Saturday night treat was in order. We expected the place to be busy, but it wasn't; and we noticed customers being turned away even though it was early (before 8.00pm) apparently because of staff shortages. The staff were pleasant (as usual) but service was not particularly prompt. My partner's food was good quality (prawns for starters with moule for mains) but my French onion soup probably spent the day in a pot, and my sirloin steak (rare) was overly gristly, so I had to leave a sizeable amount. It almost feels disloyal to say this but we will think twice about returning. I hope the staffing shortages improve, and we return to the Cafe Rouge, Bath we once enjoyed."

"my eating was great, the starter was nothing special, but the steak was amazingly soft without chew or fat bits, even if the garnels were a bit burned, so I would say it was a great meal. However, the person I had ordered the same got quite nothing but fat and chewing bits with her steak, so I would say that it is a bit of a hit and miss when it comes to the quality of the food here. but the staff was very friendly and understanding. they even gave us a ticket for a free meal at the next visit and free desserts. so everything in all cannot try too much in any case at least."
