"I have been a lifelong fan of Japanese cuisine and went most recently went to Tokyo in 2019. Chisou stands above the crowd of all fine dining Japanese restaurants I've been to outside Japan. My mum had been there one time prior and had an...amazing experience, my father and I both went for the first time tonight with her. The menu is a complex and interesting overview of all Japanese cuisine highlights, including a comprehensive menu of Sushi/Sashimi, Noodles (Udon/Soba), Teriyaki/Tempura, and some delightful takes on the traditional izakaya offering. They also offer an extensive sake menu, with some very unique items that complement whatever you choose to order. Beyond their superbly cultivated menu, the service at Chisou can only be described as exceptional. The entire staff truly care if you are having a good time, and are happily there to provide advice on guiding you through your meal. My dad is not a huge fan of raw seafood, and the sushi chef took an interest in challenging his hesitations- he offered us an incredible smoked mackerel as an amuse-bouche to test if my dad would like it, and he did. We ordered a number of starters- the gyoza, fried oysters, uni, and chuuka seaweed salad- all were superb. I was extremely impressed at the freshness and quality of the ingredients, as well as the beauty and care with presentation. For his main, my dad ordered the tofu steak, which was the most velvety and flavourful tofu we have had outside of our favourite place in Tokyo (called I <3 Gyoza). My mum and I had the sashimi omekase for 2, and the consideration from the chef was beyond exceptional. He asked us our preferences, my mum is a fan of ami ebi, I love tako and ika- all 3 were of the highest quality I've experienced. He also took a great interest in how we were enjoying things and continually provided advice or information about what we were eating. The waiting staff was also extremely caring and fun to speak with, and really were happy to see that we enjoyed ourselves. The manager also gave us a wonderful recommendation of an undistilled sake to go with our desserts, that was simply fabulous. Chisou is not just truly fantastic dining in terms of quality of food and service, but a theatrical experience that will make you feel as if you've teleported from London right into a Japanese izakaya. We have already booked a reservation to go back tomorrow and I cannot wait."

The best Japanese Izakaya experience. Food, service and sake were amazing. Make sure you try the tuna. As for the sake, my favourite was the 50 Stream felt like fig flavoured water.

Best Sushi we have ever had and exceptional service. The thinly sliced beef fillet in ponzu was delicious. Would recommend and will definitely be returning. Thank you for the special meal.

can't go wrong with chisou! the service have been consistently top-notched (pre- and post- covid), plenty of choices for meat eaters veggies vegans. the only disappointment was the tempura... wasn't what we expected.

I visited Chisou as a guest of a friend who had visited before and it was a great choice; the food, service and ambience were top class and whilst the food isn't cheap with Japanese it rarely is from reviewing the menu it...wasn't excessive. I'd be delighted to return her eagain.

my wife booked this place long in advance after reading all mentions and reviews, we were so excited to have a romantic dinner in london in this highly respected restaurant. the whole experience was destroyed by visiting the toilets of men. they were disgusting, not clean and infested by dozens of little flying, who are lying over the walls. I could count at least 20. I was so gone that I could barely eat. cleanliness should be given in any restaurant, but I think it is even more important to a place that serves sushi.

the service and the atmosphere are beautiful in this restaurant and as coeliac they had a decent selection of gluten-free options. I chose a grilled salmon (miso suppe, salmon with salat picks and rice, plus dessert). But I didn't receive my miso...soup, and my salate didn't get up either. the salmon, while tasty, hardly touched the sides and the dessert was three bites fresher orange, though beautifully presented. not worth any money and I starved and disappointed with only a nominal bill reduction in complaining as compensation.

for the first time after 2 years to my favorite London Japanese restaurant. it could be better than before the kovid. restaurant feels very well, tables are not compressed, service and personal excellent and professional and there was the usual clean feeling. I was recognized by my phone number as a regular one that is always beautiful. menu was similar, but different. my gast asked me to order so that I could simply list with ca. 7 8 different dressed and some extra sushi. sad as I drove, I couldn't enjoy for free, but I'll give it back on my next visit. the food came on continuously and that started hard. I would have liked to see that some of the dishes a little distance, as it was like t...
