"What a beautiful Japanese culinary experience! I started with edamame, spinach sesame, chicken gyoza, Japanese omelette, and inari, all of which were perfect and delicious. The spicy salmon, tuna fish avocado, and shrimp tempura were also excellent. I couldn't pick a favorite because everything was so tasty with fresh seafood. Service was quick and attentive. For my main course, I had chicken katsu with rice and teriyaki chicken donburi. The katsu was perfectly fried and one of my favorites, while the donburi brought me the authentic flavors of Japan. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with great food and hospitality. I will definitely be visiting again!"

"So very disappointed. This was one of my go to sushi places in Sheffield. Ordered take out today, four different rolls. Rainbow roll looks and tastes like salmon roll. "I took my mum and mother in law for high tea and we were delighted the moment we stepped in, amazing decor and absolutely stunning dining hall! Never seen anything like that before! We booked via phone and we were asked for card details first I was bit reluctant but they explained due to everything made fresh for diners we want to make sure nothing goes to waste as they do not take walk-ins, they also assured card won't be charged until dining and there is no cancellation fee if cancelled in advance, which made sense! We like afternoon tea/high tea but I can assure I have never had such an amazing tea before! Everything was so fresh, from scones to sandwiches and pastries! They also gave us surprises with hot and cold canapés which were freshly baked! Which made sense for calling it high tea! As there was so much to eat, freshly baked hot bread with butter was scrumptious! We will be back it was the best high tea we ever had!"

"I have been a lifelong fan of Japanese cuisine and went most recently went to Tokyo in 2019. Chisou stands above the crowd of all fine dining Japanese restaurants I've been to outside Japan. My mum had been there one time prior and had an...amazing experience, my father and I both went for the first time tonight with her. The menu is a complex and interesting overview of all Japanese cuisine highlights, including a comprehensive menu of Sushi/Sashimi, Noodles (Udon/Soba), Teriyaki/Tempura, and some delightful takes on the traditional izakaya offering. They also offer an extensive sake menu, with some very unique items that complement whatever you choose to order. Beyond their superbly cultivated menu, the service at Chisou can only be described as exceptional. The entire staff truly care if you are having a good time, and are happily there to provide advice on guiding you through your meal. My dad is not a huge fan of raw seafood, and the sushi chef took an interest in challenging his hesitations- he offered us an incredible smoked mackerel as an amuse-bouche to test if my dad would like it, and he did. We ordered a number of starters- the gyoza, fried oysters, uni, and chuuka seaweed salad- all were superb. I was extremely impressed at the freshness and quality of the ingredients, as well as the beauty and care with presentation. For his main, my dad ordered the tofu steak, which was the most velvety and flavourful tofu we have had outside of our favourite place in Tokyo (called I <3 Gyoza). My mum and I had the sashimi omekase for 2, and the consideration from the chef was beyond exceptional. He asked us our preferences, my mum is a fan of ami ebi, I love tako and ika- all 3 were of the highest quality I've experienced. He also took a great interest in how we were enjoying things and continually provided advice or information about what we were eating. The waiting staff was also extremely caring and fun to speak with, and really were happy to see that we enjoyed ourselves. The manager also gave us a wonderful recommendation of an undistilled sake to go with our desserts, that was simply fabulous. Chisou is not just truly fantastic dining in terms of quality of food and service, but a theatrical experience that will make you feel as if you've teleported from London right into a Japanese izakaya. We have already booked a reservation to go back tomorrow and I cannot wait."

"Happy hour Monday all day really good value. Food prepped and seasoned well. Service ok felt like our waitress couldn’t wait to give us the bill and get rid off us. As soon as we finished the last plate she turned our grill off, didn’t check if we’d like to order more food and we asked to order another plate of food, she made a point of switching the grill back on. "This restaurant offers the best Japanese and Korean fusion dishes I've tried since relocating from the West coast of the US to the UK. The service is attentive and you will be well taken care of. Very spicy for traditionalist, and they’re able to make mild flavors as well for the timid amongst us. "The service was absolutely terrible! I had to call the waiter ten times just to place my order. When the food finally arrived, it was cold, and the waitstaff seemed confused about which table ordered what. I ordered a prosecco, but it came flat, and when I asked for a replacement, it was just as disappointing. We also wanted to use an OpenTable voucher and confirmed beforehand that the restaurant was still part of the program (it was). However, when we presented the voucher to the manager, he was incredibly rude and unhelpful, practically making a scene and raising his voice as we tried to understand why it wasn't accepted. The food itself was decent, but that level of service is not worth the price."

"This was my first visit to Flesh and Buns and I would definitely be bringing other people here. The service is top notch. They were so accommodating when we were going to be late whereas other places might get funny about it. The food was amazing. It was so quick to the table and it tasted absolutely delicious. The only negative when it comes to the food I could say is that the beef that my friend got was a tad overcooked and a little tough but the Japanese chicken that I had was delicious. The portion sizes are very good as well. Cocktails are a little expensive but that is London pricing for you. They were really nice. Deadly because you can drink them like water. Overall, one of the best restaurants that I have been to and I will definitely be coming again."

"I made a reservation for New Year's Eve and received an email confirmation. After checking the menu link provided, we knew exactly what we wanted. However, when we arrived at 9:30 PM, we discovered that the menu had been changed to a fixed four-course meal, which cost almost double what we had anticipated! I asked the waiter why we hadn't been informed of this change, but he simply said, "That's just how it is." Overall, it was a disappointing experience with poor service, and I won't be returning."

"I was searching for a restaurant for a pre-theatre meal and a special place to celebrate my husband's birthday. The ambience and authenticity were fantastic, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing, we opted for the set menu priced at £35 per person. The quality of the food was outstanding, but we wished there were more dishes and larger portions per person. For example, we ordered the teriyaki salmon and there was only one piece that we had to share. I felt that since we were paying per person, the portions should have been more equal. However, the dessert was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and visit again, but I would be more cautious with my food choices. It is a perfect location for a pre-theatre meal near the Royal Albert Hall."
