"The food here was really disappointing. Cullen Skink was cold and returned nuclear after a few spins in a microwave, courgette bhagi was burnt, wings was small and dry, trout was the only starter that was good. Roast chicken was a thigh/leg that was dry, beef was tough as was the pork. All roasts were served with two anaemia roast potatoes, over cooked watery cauliflower and overpowering red cabbage. Also accompanied by a ‘comedy’ carrot that was enormous!! The only thing cooked properly. After seeing other people’s plates arrive with billowy Yorkshire puddings, our frustration was compounded as ours looked as if they had been sat on and were limp. Every dish was served on cold plates, so by the time the food arrived it was tepid at best. I feel sorry for the servers, who were the only saving grace here friendly and attentive. Overall not remotely worth a visit."

I agree with the opinions of other brunch-goers in Glasgow, The Drake left me feeling underwhelmed.

I have been eager to visit this restaurant for some time now. It has a charming exterior with ivy-covered trellises, twinkling fairy lights, and stone steps leading down to the door.

there is a formal restaurant in the upper floor, but we decided to go this time for a more relaxed gastroub experience in the bar. the bar area is located in the cellar of a traditional glassgower mule house and the interior is a classic striped stone and dark wood look that gives it a really cozy Scottish feeling. The atmosphere at The Drake was lively and the service was excellent. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making sure our coffee cups were always full. Overall, our brunch experience at The Drake was enjoyable and rejuvenating. We left feeling satisfied and ready to continue our day. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious brunch spot with great service.

as laughing I decided to go for the Risotto balls, or as I know them, arancini. They were consumed with devastated spinat in hot petersilienbutter. I really enjoyed them! some might complain about the amount of butter, as the risotto was tasty and there was butter on the serving, but I really enjoyed it. without sauce or dip arancini can be a bit dry, but these were nice and damp and had a lot of smoked salmon in them for taste!

I've been twice now for a sunday roast, and on both occasions, it was pretty bad. 1st time My meal and my mum's was absolutely freezing, hand to send it back. When it came back, the food was burnt, steam was coming off, but still quite cold? Not great. 2nd time My roast came out, cold again, and I had both beef and chicken on my plate, when I had only ordered chicken. Sent back, waited ages, and of course it was cold again. On neither of these occasions was I offered a refund/money off. Avoid. View menu

I went for Sunday roast and ended up feeling disappointed. Three of us ordered roast beef and the beef was cooked nicely. However, the Yorkshire puddings were burnt and there were only two very small roast potatoes. The meals were served on small plates, which seemed to make it look like a larger portion. The service was not great and the staff were not very attentive. When we received the bill, there was a service charge added for four people, which was strange for pub food. Overall, we spent £140 and left feeling hungry. I won't be returning anytime soon.

An absolute treat. The waiters waitresses are lovely. I had the courgette bhaji with curry mayo roast chicken with all the trimmings. The courgette bhaji was probably one of my favourite starter’s I’ve had in years. Absolutely delicious when I praised it to the waiter he told me they run curry nights every so often (I’m really going to keep my eyes peeled for this as a result). Yum! And the roast chicken was phenomenal. Succulent roast chicken with all the trimmings all cooked perfectly. They have a great variety of cocktails drinks too I’ll most definitely be back for another roast such lovely service. Thank you so much guys! X
