"London has a long list of fake' Indian restaurants places where nothing is Indian except the names of the dishes on the menus. Bhatti is one of them. Although the waiter denied this and guaranteed their chef was Indian I had my doubts when the paratha and nan were both made in the tandoor, the butter chicken was made with tomato purée and the motor' paneer had so much mutter in it that it became difficult to wash it down with water as well. "In Reading, it seems like there's a Mr Cod on every corner, but who knows if that's true? Not that it matters to me - all I care about is satisfying my craving for chicken, and Mr Cod always delivers. They serve up delicious fried chicken, crispy chips, and refreshing fizzy drinks with the efficiency you'd expect. Despite the limited communication behind masks and Perspex, the staff handle it all with grace. It's hard to strike up a conversation with other customers, who are too absorbed in their phones, but that's just the way things are these days. As I wait for my order, my mind drifts back to simpler times, but I'm brought back to the present when my food is handed to me. I weave through the crowd of delivery drivers and head out into the night, knowing I'll be back at Mr Cod before long. But for now, I am happy and content with a box of fried chicken in hand - nothing can bring me down!"

"Terrible food .we both had battered sausage and chips .chips very dry looked like they had been sitting in warmer for a while and battered sausage was sponges very chewy and horrid flavor to the sausage . Toilets disgusting mens out of order and women's not been cleaned in ages . Child seating also not been cleaned or washed .will not be going again. 1-10"

"Visited for a tea time takeaway, yesterday. First fish and chips since March and lockdown. Good proper reasonably sized portion of chip shop chips. Nice batter on the just cooked haddock. The fish was nice and white, but could have been a bit bigger. Perfect...mushy peas but the size of the portion was minute. It wasn't a complicated order but the assistant struggled to get the right fish with the right portion of chips. With a bit of proper management this place could be a real find."

"This place scores 5 on the food hygiene ratings, which was a pleasant surprise, and the staff were very friendly. Fish was cooked fresh, and was a good sized portion with good chips. However, my meal was ruined by the lack of vinegar they put it on from a mist bottle like you use to water plants. I asked for extra, and it got another couple of sprays with the mist, but there was no option to put it on myself. In the end, I had to go to Nisa next door and buy myself a bottle to make the meal edible.OK, some people might not care, but I think fish and chips is ruined by not enough vinegar it wouldn't cost a lot more to leave a (normal) bottle on the counter for people to help themselves. A real shame as the food was good, but trying to cut corners with the vinegar means I won't be going back."

"After previously experiencing average meals at this restaurant, I decided to give it another try and ordered the fish and chips, mainly because it was convenient and the other nearby Mr. Cod on Farnham Road was always too busy. I noticed that the restaurant had updated their packaging, but I wasn't expecting much from the food. However, I was pleasantly surprised when the fish and chips arrived - they were fresh, hot, and a generous portion. The taste was perfect and I hope this marks the beginning of a great fish and chip shop in the area. I also hope they will start offering desserts on their menu soon."

"For the past few weeks, my family has been ordering fish and chips from Fish Bay, and I have to say it is the best fish and chips available on Uber Eats in our area. The portions are huge and always fill us up - even the delivery drivers have commented on it. The first time we ordered, the driver was delayed in traffic and we were worried the food would be cold by the time it arrived. To our surprise, the food was still hot and the driver was very apologetic. The only downside was that the food was a bit soggy due to being in polystyrene boxes, but our subsequent orders of fish and spam fritters came out crispy. Out of all the chippies we have tried in our area, Fish Bay is definitely number one. The only other time we rated fish and chips 5/5 was at Inghams Quayside in Whitby. This just goes to show the quality of the food at Fish Bay - huge portions, hot and tasty food, and friendly staff. Thank you, Fish Bay!"
