"So disappointed tonight. Havnt been here for quite sometime. Had recommended this pub to a friend for her birthday as have not been disappointed before with food or service. Tonight was different. Maybe because we didn't go till 7 but that should not be an excuse. Food order was wrong and the woman serving it was rather rude it was as if our fault. The food was like it was the dregs at end of the day. One of our party ordered the curry she didn't even get her rice and the amount of curry in the bowl wasn't even half. Such a shame and very disappointing. Heard people on table over from us who also got incorrect order. Shocking really"

"Sandemans fine dining tasting menu paired with some delicious wines was the perfect evening for us. The food was delicious and the wine worked well. The only disappointing thing was that there were almost no interesting options for our guest who does not drink alcohol. The only offering was a 0% lager or the usual other soft drinks. We wanted to order a fabulous mocktail or interesting non alcoholic pairing option from the menu. This was not possible here but our delightful waiter did accept the feedback and thought it would be a great idea to have something interesting for the non alcohol drinker or indeed the appointed driver. The restaurants decoration was lovely and the atmosphere special. The toilets could definately be upgraded they don't reflect the style or standard of the restaurant. Toilet seat hanging off in one of the two cubicles too. However, it was a very special evening which we all enjoyed and look forward to returning and experiencing the upgrades which will ensure things only get better from an already great position."

"Great place to pop into and get a great atmosphere. I went in around 5pm today, Sat 5th Aug. I was greeted by what i perceived to be the manager, a woman who's name i can't remember. I was then served by a tall, stout man, he was young. Dark hair and facial hair. His manner seemed a bit brusque and bordering on rude. He gave me my drink and i paid. 10 mins later i went back to the bar and asked to order food, i was served by the woman i mentioned earlier. I had some very specific requests with regard to my food order, so i discussed them and was helped very well. My food came out quickly and was very tasty. Overall a very positive experience, i will be back"

"I had a great time. I'm not exactly a frequent reviewer but I thought I had to give credit to one member of staff in particular although the entire experience was good. I think her name was Evie, she was a joy everytime I was served by her and her sweet and cheerful demeanor made for a great time. Would definitely recommend this pub if you find yourself in Bridgewater."

"Nice and cozy place to take a sip and get some side dishes, watching football match with friends. Large parking area behind the shop for customers. The outdoor beer garden is lovely for the sunshine day if you can find. My favourite menu are the 30 pcs BBQ chicken wings, narchos and tower of onion rings. They also have a nice live music after dinner. Get the student card for the selected discounted drinks."

"We went along to take advantage of their reopening special offer of a free meal with a newspaper voucher. Right from the off, the staff were helpful and explained the deal and procedure. Three of us ordered steaks, a rare, medium rare, and medium. All three were cooked to perfection. The steaks were large and melt in the mouth. It's probably the best steak I have had for a very long time. Our fourth member had the bog standard pub grub....Balmoral chicken, which she ate and enjoyed too. Again, they did not insult with the portion size. Service was pretty quick and efficient, too. Wine ranged from just under £14 for the house to under 20 quid for a bottle.. Both were decent. As a bonus, by downloading and registering on their app, we got a free drink, and we even got a couple of desserts and a really good strong coffee, courtesy of guy who had a couple of vouchers he passed on to us. They didn't disappoint either OK, this won't happen every time, but as a promotion, it worked because they have gained 4 new customers. If they can keep up that standard of food and service, it will be our go-to for a pub grub night out. Interesting all the staff seemed to be men and no student staff. The weekend might be different, but honestly, they were so professional. A pleasant surprise nowadays."

"We went in last saturday for a meal and a couple of pints, it 's quite a regular thing. It was quite busy and we were lucky to get a table after waiting about 5 minutes. My partner went to order and was gone some time , 20 minutes or thereabouts. I figured she must be chatting to one of the staff as we always have a good laugh with them. Then my partner came to me slightly distressed , she was having trouble getting served even after 20 minutes stood at the bar. She was stood at the corner and the bar staff were seemingly only serving those at the front of the bar, even though my partner had been stood waiting to be served some 15 minutes before a lot of them. She shouted out to the barstaff ' are you serving '? The responded with 'you don 't get served any quicker by shouting ' and repeated this mantra style , trying to wind my partner up, which they did and regretably my partner told one of them to where to go. She realised this was wrong but she is registered disabled and in constant pain and can 't stand for long periods. She didnt want any favours for being disabled, she is too proud to ask for them. All she wanted was to be served when it came to her turn, which was clearly not happening. When I confronted the barman he said 'we don 't really serve here ' I said 'I know, I can see ' He then produced a ' Glass collection only ' placard, 20+ minutes too late. he said it was a non serving area even though there was a visa card machine there on the bar and we 've always been served there before without any problem . On our way out I just happened to look behind me to see 'Sydney ' a female member of the barstaff give the finger and saw her mouth ' off ' Now does anybody think a person like that should be working in the leisure industry ? All 3 of the barstaff were incompetent in my eyes and need a talking to or re-training. We went for a pleasurable night out, not aggro, we 're in our 60 's not yobs. We spent about £20, not a lot I know, we would have stayed longer and spent double that, still not a lot but every little counts. And as for bringing my grandkids here for a treat total spend £40+ I don 't think that 'll happen again. I see the pub wants to increase it 's taking by £2000 every week . . It ain 't gunna happen with abusive barstaff that you had on that night. Thank you. Brian. Ps I emailed and texted the manager to see if we could solve this issue amicably. NO REPLY which says a lot. Pps I hear Darleys do good meals."

"Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and given the option to choose our table, which we appreciated. The staff at the bar and serving the food were all friendly and pleasant. "As always, the meal I ordered from Ramsgate Tandoori this evening was absolutely excellent. It was hot, of good quality, delicious, and there was plenty of it. Unfortunately, my josh spilled in my purse, causing quite a mess when the lid came off. A large portion of my meal was lost in the chaos. Despite that, I'm still happy. Excellent food from wonderful people."

"Visited today with family for a Father’s Day meal. The food was delicious not to mention the 241 cocktails. The venue was decorated for Father’s Day with balloons, candles and flowers on the tables and each dad received a box of chocolates and a dad badge which made it extra special. Anna and the team are super friendly, hard working and go the extra mile so a BIG thank you from me! Can’t wait for the next visit!"

"Went for my sister’s bday. Had a great time. Only few things is that they don’t give tap water and charge a lot for a small bottle of water. They don’t accept card payment. It must be cash for now because they haven’t installed the card payment machine, there is an atm right outside the lounge. The food was too tasty and will be back again to have it again. The Mocktails are so good and generally it was a nice vibe and great ambience. The staff were really attentive and made my sisters day really lovely."

"I stopped by this pub for a quick bite. Sadly, they didn’t have any cakes, which I had hoped to try. However, they offered a Tuesday burger lunch deal that the woman behind the bar recommended. The portion of chips was somewhat small, but everything else was fresh and really good. You can't beat the value at just £6.99 for a burger, chips, and a soft drink!"

"I had a fabulous lunch at Murdos with the girls! The food was amazing—delicious mac and cheese, tasty waffle fries, and the Katsu chicken was fantastic. The fish and chips were good too. We ended up chatting for over four hours! When we arrived, the place was bustling with groups enjoying lunch, and it was filling up again for dinner by the time we left. Overall, a great experience!"

"Not the best experience. No parking to start with. Inconsiderate drivers. Service was overly keen. Kept interrupting our conversation various times asking is everything okay constantly throughout the experience. Manager offered as we walked in some water and poppadoms in a complimentary way. Later to find out he charged us a ridiculous price. Food was very overpriced for the quality. The variety was very limit and the staff didn’t now about the menu when asked questions. The manager was sneaky and added service charge also without asking us or telling. Place is small. Go owl and pussycat if you want good Indian food at a fraction of the price. I wouldn’t recommend unless you into a show room restaurant rather the quality and service. Thumbs down for me over hyped."

"This spacious pub has a lot to offer in terms of facilities. It may feel a bit out of place for some, but it has a decent selection of drinks including all the usual options. It has a sporty feel with several TV screens, at least 2 billiard tables, and 3 dart boards for entertainment. It may not be suitable for those looking for a traditional style, but I would recommend it to others."

"The atmosphere was far too loud, with speakers blaring everywhere. The football was on, and once it finished, they could have turned the TV down. While we could have requested this, we were hesitant to do so since we weren't locals. The food portions were quite small, and the fries were very pale and unappetizing. It might be okay for a quick stop, but unfortunately, I can't recommend it. Sorry!"

Don’t ask questions at the bar as they can’t be bother answering or explaining. And when they bring you food there was no word said. Slammed the sauces caddy on the table and walked off. She probably wanted to go back to be sitting down at the table with the other waitress drinking coffee. Yes, it was visible.."

"the first time in england and wanted real English fish and chips. the pub was clean and tidy. pool table and various edges to entertain everyone. the young tattooed dame behind the bar was friendly and helpful with my asking to the menu. the chips. were in order, but needed salt and ketchup to add taste. I appreciate the fact that the fish were not made over the diligent, but not a real taste again. had to add lemon and other spicy to make it better. the Burger options looked interesting and may require a second visit."

"Terrible service, waited over an hour for food despite there only being 6 tables occupied. After being told over and over again our food was ‘on its way’, ‘was next’ and ‘was in the lift’, we waited a further 15 mins before seeing a deliveroo delivery heading out of the kitchen. Deliveroo was clearly prioritised and we were constantly being lied too. Can’t comment on the food as we never received it. When asked for a refund, they were incapable of refunding onto our card, so we’re given 8pound cash, when our meals were over 20 pounds. We had to do the maths for them so could refund properly. 2 other tables also complained, 1 also requesting a refund, which took a while. And to top things off there was no loo roll in the toilets. Wouldn’t go back, EVER."
