"Sandemans fine dining tasting menu paired with some delicious wines was the perfect evening for us. The food was delicious and the wine worked well. The only disappointing thing was that there were almost no interesting options for our guest who does not drink alcohol. The only offering was a 0% lager or the usual other soft drinks. We wanted to order a fabulous mocktail or interesting non alcoholic pairing option from the menu. This was not possible here but our delightful waiter did accept the feedback and thought it would be a great idea to have something interesting for the non alcohol drinker or indeed the appointed driver. The restaurants decoration was lovely and the atmosphere special. The toilets could definately be upgraded they don't reflect the style or standard of the restaurant. Toilet seat hanging off in one of the two cubicles too. However, it was a very special evening which we all enjoyed and look forward to returning and experiencing the upgrades which will ensure things only get better from an already great position."

The Sandeman is a great pub! The staff are friendly, the food was good and really enjoyed my night there. Absolutely will go back there again!

The food was good and service great. Not sandman’s fault to be fair but the people on the next table were swearing constantly and it was not what you want when out for a meal.

Was in for lunch on Saturday with some friends. We had a great meal, the staff are great, so friendly and very helpful. They have a a great menu and even a pool table to kill some time!

Was the worst scampi, all day breakfast and BBQ Mac burger that I have ever seen. Every item was over cooked. They even gave me a used lemon for my scampi. Really have gone down hill since our last visit View menu

Got some food for me and my kids with a few beers, bar staff were really nice, Niamh and Connor were really helpful and they made me feel welcome. There are loads of options for adults and children and it has a great family atmosphere. I also enjoy visiting for live sport. Overall, great visit and I look forward to visiting again.

Me and my group of bingo gals were here for Boxing Day and Hogmanay. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and even though it was busy they helped us as much as they could to give us a memorable experience. For food we all had items from the Christmas menu. The crispy prawns were definitely a hit. Great atmosphere and the gals were very pleased with everything. Definitely will be back. Thanks guys!

My partner and I came here for Lunch on Wednesday. We thoroughly enjoyed it! Food was extremely tasty, we both had the burgers katsu and the burning hot. They came out nice and quick. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. We got a good laugh with the older ginger guy as well. Think he was the boss. The place itself is very big bright and spacious and looks like it would be a great place to come at the weekends. Very family friendly. Will recommend to our friends and family. You will be sure to see us again! Thanks View menu

My memory of this place for lunch was that it had great pub grub. Today however was absolute shambles. We were told it would be a 20-30min wait but ended up being 45-50. Then the food came out and I had ordered a burger. It was burnt. As in almost charcoal. My stepdad ordered scampi and on his plate had already squeezed lemon. A used lemon!? We asked what the issue was and were told that because they are taking takeaway orders with one chef on shift, that takes priority, which leaves little to no care for the food served in house. Stay away during lunch hours. It's dreadful in my opinion.

Just home from fab weekend in Perth. We came to the Sandeman on first night and staff couldn't have been any friendlier. We were made to feel so welcome was great atmosphere and prices very reasonable for drinks and food. Ate breakfast here both mornings. there was a large group of us, and they sure had plenty of space for us. It was quick service and very well priced. We also had evening meal here on the Saturday, we had few tables reserved as the pub was very busy for the football, atmosphere was amazing during the Scotland game, and the service was fantastic, everyone enjoyed their meal. We stayed for a few hours until after the DJ arrived. Music was very good and enjoyed a little boogie!...

"We stumbled across this place on the last night of a fortnight in Scotland and couldn 't be more glad that we did and that they had space. We were seated promptly (underneath the fan thankfully considering the heatwave), asked whether we 'd eaten there before (we hadn 't), had the menu explained to us (suggested 3 tapas per person) and then left alone briefly to consider the menu. Once ordered, drinks were delivered in a timely fashion, followed by breads dips to tempt tide us over until our tapas arrived. It wasn 't very quick, but I didn 't think it was unduly long either just the right length of time for non fast food that is being prepared freshly. And when it arrived, we were delighted as it was delicious! The only slight disappointment was that salted cod wasn 't available, but that was soon forgotten. My personal favourite was the poached chorizo in red wine with honey glaze, but we were happy with all of our options (patatas bravas, haggis balls, pinchas de pollo, spinach chickpea stew, haddock in red pepper sauce and Spanish tortilla the latter really made by the spicy tomato salsa on the side). 5 between the two of us would probably have sufficed, which would have meant I had space for one of the ice creams, but in hindsight, I 'm glad I didn 't. Excellent service, delicious food, our best meal of our holiday. We probably won 't be back (living in Birmingham and all) but definitely would if we were local."

"This place has all the potential for a 5 star experience and you may well have it by going here! Unfortunately, we did not and it's worth explaining why. For context, we didn't stay overnight just had a meal in the restaurant one night and went to the beer garden another. Restaurant: Food was generally very good and prices reasonable. I'd especially recommend the tempura chard if it's on the menu! The setting of the restaurant is also lovely. However, we ended up waiting about an hour between starters and main meal 2 people . We were advised approx 40 minutes into the wait that one of the mains was no longer available and a substitute would be provided there was some gnocchi improvised from potato mash involved. Service were on top of this though and did remove this item from the bill. So in summary, good elements involved but a couple areas that could do with attention. Beer garden: We went along to the beer garden to catch the rugby world cup final. This was sadly quite a disappointing experience that ended up with the limited attendance clearing out before half time . In short, coverage only started after national anthems. No sound other than via headphones ?? , which didn't work ?! . Pizzas were pretty tasty but the cheese was stringy as a ball of yarn positive with no cutlery or tissues provided negative . And at c. £16 per pizza, felt a bit cheated by the whole experience. The rooms themselves look lovely and I'm sure on a summer's day if you're looking to enjoy some drinks and a bit of food in a lovely setting, the Taybank probably covers exactly what you're looking for! They also run a traditional music session in the main bar on a Thursday evening, which is absolutely worth checking out! But I'm afraid for us, it's unlikely we would rush back for anything other than that."
