"Last minute decision to go out for lunch led us to The Ardler Tavern. Just wish I could say all our last minute decisions were this good! From the moment we arrived (we hadn’t booked and it was busy) the young man behind the bar was attentive and helpful. Found us a table quickly and the young lady (also very attentive and helpful) brought us menus and showed us the specials. Food was ordered and brought out quickly. It was delicious and plenty on the plate too as well as being reasonably priced. We had all three courses, well we just about managed three courses, with only two minor disappointments from my personal pov the liver was delicious but needed gravy, or at least the offer of it, and the cocktails, whilst also delicious, were too small! The young man did say he would take the gravy suggestion back to the kitchen and they appreciated constructive comments. Anyhow, we will definitely be back but will ensure we book ahead next time. Can’t wait!"

"This restaurant just outside Aberfeldy is a fantastic spot for a meal or a drink. It is set in peaceful, picturesque surroundings with abundant parking. The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff. The food was delicious with large portions. An added bonus is the delicatessen and shop on-site. Overall, it received top marks for service, atmosphere, and parking availability. Meal type: Brunch Price range: £10-20 per person."

"I cannot begin to tell them how sad I was to hear that pitcrocknie was closed due to the current economic climate, especially after I had come through the hard 2 years covid. I can't tell them how wonderful the staff was, always smiling, nothing was. they just have to look at the pictures here on the food they serve daily for 6 years! I am gluten-tolerant and vegetarian to boot, I don't eat meat or fish, I almost always eat baked kartoffels in most restaurants! not here, but they sat with me and discussed everything they could help me, and delivered dishes like sweet lasagne with gf pasta! I can't tell them how rare it is to have so much choice, and the pavlowa should die! They really took care of their customers, as nowhere I've ever been. it is a complete tragicody and I wish the family well for the future!"

"Have never left a review for a restaurant before but felt that the whole experience was amazing and deserving of a 5 start review. My husband, son and I had the most delicious meal last night. Our first time visiting Chatni's and we are so glad we did. The menu offers a variety of options and the staff were on hand and informative when selecting meals to meet our preferences (our 11 year old fussy eater ordered his first indian meal of Chicken Tikka, and he loved it). The service was exceptional, staff are friendly and attentive. We couldn't fault any part of the night. Thank you again for a great evening, we will definitely be back. Jodie, Chris and Zac."

"It 's been a while since I 've written a review on Tripadvisor, but after visiting The Delivino restaurant in Crieff it became clear to me that it was time to dust off my keyboard and write one. Myself, my partner and my in laws visited Crieff for the afternoon, travelling from Leslie, in Fife. We stopped a friendly looking passer by on the High Street and asked him if he could reccomend somewhere we could go for a nice lunch. Without hesitation, he advised us to go to The Delivino and pointed us in the general direction. We were so pleased he did. If I was to sum up the experience in a word, it would be 'perfection '. First we were warmly welcomed in and guided to a table of our choice. Next, perfectly timed, a waitress came over to us, first, to take a drinks order then shortly after to take a food order. It goes without saying, her attentiveness and timing was impeccable and she was very warm and friendly. On that note, let 's get onto the food. That word again perfection. The four of us were very pleased with our meals, they were all very tasty, well presented and cooked to absolute perfection. The service throughout was also perfect. A perfect amount of time was given to decide on drinks and menu items not too long, not too rushed. The waiters and waitresses glided around, always being available but never appearing to encroach on our peace and space and their manner was always warm, subtle and thoroughly focussed on the diners. As I said, if I was to sum it up in one word, the word would be 'perfection '. We will definitely return."

"Fabulous find for luncheon. We both picked a pizza each, hubby always has pepperoni, was very pleased he had. I had a hot smoked salmon one with rocket, cream cheese dill, it was called a Smokehouse, not to be missed. The staff were very busy catered for us so well. We have two golden retrievers which were highly looked after with their own water bowl brought without being asked their own biscuits brought on a saucer, so thoughtful!! We will be returning next Friday on our way back home…… delightful place!!"

"Great location near the concert hall and the atmosphere is vibrant. I was with a group of girlfriends and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food. The service was friendly and prompt as well. The only thing that let this place down for me was the lack of zero alcohol choices. They stock 0% beer but not 0% wine or Prosecco. That's pretty poor in my opinion not catering for the non drinkers with a decent range of choices given today's options."

"originally very surprised that the lights were so bright that it ruined any chance of a beautiful atmosphere in a beautiful building. After we had set ourselves, we waited almost minutes before the waiter wanted to take our drinks. I'm not sure what he had to check or why he had to check before we ordered, because it was very quiet. he disappeared and a waitress appeared shortly after and took our job. our appetizers appeared immediately. my squid was treated in what can only be described as flour and water paste that was fried. it was very bland. my friend had the scallops that were good. the main thing was not great. my crispy halibut was tiny and the chips were really terrible. think about soggy palid school dinner chips. the beingeschirr of chard was beautiful, but overall the meal was bad. the cod curry of my friend with rice looked like a teller dog sick and had a massive bone in him, which was unexpected and she would not have chosen it if she had known it so. I've been closing with her. it tasted okay, but looked grim. the service was terrible with taking off the cat who brought the drinks that was very efficient. but he did not take the drinks orders, so we sat drinking water for half time. it's such a shame because it could be really good. sort out the lighting. they lose the gray pink walls and develop a certain content together with the waiting staff. they were all friendly, but not very good at selling food and drinks. on the plus side the fish was very fresh and it is very cheap."

I can't expect to come back this time to the evening and weeping! I often send people of my work to a local distillery and will continue to do so."

"Any opportunity our family have, we take trips to Scotland, driving the 8 hours from Wales, knowing we will find a warm welcome everywhere we go. The hospitality of the Scots, together with spectacular scenery and great food make it well worth the journey. In all those years we have never felt unwelcome until we went into the Kirkstyle Inn, Dunning. It is obviously frequented by locals, a local place for local people. They were very busy and there were no tables available inside for dinner so we decided to go into their covered beer garden for drinks and pizza. There were occupied tables to our left and right, both having food, but when we went to order they told us they were not serving food outside. This obviously wasn’t true because everyone around us was eating, without a reservation. This upset the table next to us, so much so, that one of the diners went inside to fight our corner and ask why they wouldn’t serve us food. At that point some large lady came into the beer garden and said the food served outside had been a mistake but we could not have food. She was rude and belligerent. No apology for clearly only feeding favourite customers. We were definitely victimised here, for no reason I can think of. We didn’t make a fuss, just drank up and left. It was so nice of other customers to express their disappointment at how we were treated. I would never recommend this place to visitors. Go at your own risk! They clearly have a captive audience in a small village with no other pubs around. It’s sad they think as a result of their monopoly they can choose to be so dismissive of the people who provide their living. My background is hospitality, hotel management and I can honestly say the customers are our valued bread and butter, never a hindrance. For info we are a couple in our 60s (one celebrating his 60th) adult daughter and fiancé. So disappointing and clearly not the norm for this wonderful part of the world."

"My husband and I were recommended this place by our b&b and honestly the Anglers has the nicest food and people we met the entire week we were in the area. We didn't have a reservation but they were happy to seat us, the staff and owners were so friendly and excited that we were on our honeymoon that they made us a special dessert plate for our one week anniversary. The food was excellent, everything is made fresh on site and tasted like it. I was very impressed with the cleanliness in the ladies toilets and selection of feminine hygiene/baby changing products freely available for anyone that might need them, it was a very considerate thought. We would absolutely go back and hope to keep in touch."

"Booked a table in advance, as I was planning to visit on a Sunday morning. Arrived at my booked time, no greeting from any of the numerous staff members. Waited until I was approached by a grey haired waitress who would be more at home on a parade ground it would seem. She seemed to think the best way to approach a customer was to bark “name?” at me before bothering to ask if I’d made a booking or not. She then casually wandered off, returning a few minutes later to ask my name again. Was shown a table, given a menu and within literally 2.5 mins of me sitting down, she was over asking for my order. I had to politely say that I wasn’t sure yet and could I have a few more minutes; she seemed to think it was ok to sigh and wander off again. Very odd behaviour indeed. I heard her berating another table of two for their audacity to assume they didn’t have to book, and how she’d need the table back in 45 mins or less. I ordered the small breakfast, and it was mediocre at best. Poached egg was hard all the way through, one measly veggie sausage which was tasteless and some veggie haggis that was bland and cold. Really not worth the price tag. I’ve no idea how this place is still in business. The extremely rude woman who is front of house seems to have a reputation for being awful, as read in other reviews. And the food is nothing to write about. Sadly I won’t be back, nor would I recommend Heaven Scent to anyone I like!"

"Diverted to Auchterarder for a break from a long journey on the A9 and what a gem of a place this is! Its rare to find this sort of quality cafe nowadays and Cafe Kisa is obviously a very popular location place to meet for a meal or afternoon tea. Luckily there was a table free but if you plan to visit for any length of time on a Saturday it's probably best to reserve. There's an extensive food and drinks menu. The coffee, tea and cakes we had were excellent. Also great service and tables and floor were kept continously clean while we were there. Toilets were also spotless. Did not park opposite but in the main car park a short stroll away. It was free and despite being a peak season Saturday there were free spaces."

"We visited to see the Beatrix Potter Exhibition with family who were visiting and spent a lovely hour going around the exhibition, however our nice time was rudely interrupted by the elderly lady working in the cafe with dyed black curly hair. We have one child with serious allergies, so instead of one child feeling left out and risking cross exposure, we packed safe snacks for all the kids going anywhere with allergies is an absolute nightmare, so we always do this. Most places are trained and appreciative of how hard it is to eat out with allergens and happy to make reasonable adjustments for this. All four adults ate from the cafe. When part of our order was delivered, we were told “this isn’t a picnic area, you can’t eat your own food, you wouldn’t take food in to McDonald’s” (whilst looking at the 2 year old eating her snacks) when I responded yes I actually would, we have a child with allergies, she asked if it was serious allergies to which I said yes and she scoffed and left, no apology, nothing. I must add that whether the children would be eating or not, they would still have to sit at the table and take up the same amount of space. Would the children also be prevented from sitting because they didn’t buy from the cafe? Still waiting on my food order twenty minutes later and having already finished my coffee and frustrated at the wait, I asked for a refund as we now felt hurried to leave because of how upset she was at the children eating snacks at the table without purchasing them in their cafe. I got the refund for my missing meal and we left without going to the shop or seeing the other art, it has left a bad taste in my mouth. We spent just shy of £100 in the place and to be spoken to like that was horrible. The elderly employee with dyed black hair really needs some training on customer service and manners. The way she looked at us as we left was awful, we will not be returning. This place is not welcoming of children or those with allergies I dread to think how they would react to someone who is tube fed, probably told to eat outside just avoid."

"This bakery in Dunkeld run by a former ex is absolutely fantastic. The staff are excellent, the food is always beautifully presented and tastes amazing. They offer a variety of interesting cakes, croissants, and mini tarts such as gooseberry and oat cake, plum frangipani tart, pistachio croissant, parsnip and pecan cake, nutty brownies, ginger and fig cheesecake, and raspberry, lemon and poppyseed cake. They also serve delicious sourdough bread and excellently made coffee. This place is definitely a 5-star destination."

"Where do I begin..? Returned to this establishment for the first time since lock down and I certainly wish I hadn 't bothered! Rude staff, an uneasy and cheerless (most certainly negative! vibe pulsing through the place, and as if to add to my worries fresh dog mess underneath one of the chairs in the corner! I mentioned the dog mess to one of the staff, who simply looked at me with a blank, almost impetuous gaze and mumbled it wasn 't there a minute ago, it must have been you! Aghast and amazed, I demanded to speak to the manager... This feeble excuse of a company representative blatantly fobbed me off from the get go! I could smell the faint aroma of pot, even though it was intoxicatingly mixed with the raw stench of newly laid dog turd... No acceptance of any responsibility, no remorse, no customer care! I turned around to my boyfriend and demanded that we leave, even though I was busting for a poo myself and virtually touching cloth (we had only gone in there to use the toilets ... If you do one thing sensible this year guys, avoid this **** place! Would have given it zero stars but that wasn 't an option... KK"

"Eating outside on the terras in the evening sun was a pleasant experience. My lamb was cooked to perfection with a thin crusty layer of fat and I don't get often such a nice ratatouille. My wife had gambas with a hint of hot Chili peppers and garlic which made her also happy. The glass of wine was served with a glass of water."

"Really good quality food, when you ask for the wine menu also ask for ones that aren't on there sometimes have specials that they don't have on the list, it's well worth an ask, What a lovely starters main course and my favourite to finish with “cheese and biscuits” from locally sourced produce I can't fault the meal at all and excellently well prepared the only thing is make sure you take your wallet with you because it's not a cheap place in any way whatsoever and close to overpriced in comparison to quality and prices locally"

"We were taken to Le Jardin cafe for a meal as a treat. We all ordered different items and all of them were very tasty. We did feel that there was too much sauce in the meat dishes which made it very difficult to eat. Some of it had gone over the edge of the dish onto the salad below making it look very messy. The staff were not always available as one of them was chatting for some time to other customers but not about the menu or food. We were waiting for some time to place our order. Most of the staff were friendly and one suggested dessert items from the menu which she thought we would enjoy. Not sure if we would go back there in the future."

"We stumbled on this little gem of a local business on a recent Motorcycle run at the start of the 2024 season. From the outside unpretentious, but on the inside a little jewel in Dunkeld. Very pleasant staff and equally pleasant homemade saviours and sweets. We were made to feel very welcome with a dash of proper understated hospitality, it seemed like many locals are within the staff rosta, which is always reassuring. The menu was great in both savoury and sweet options, a cracking little find. The shop stocks wines and spirits, but not your usual supermarket inventory, e.g Hearach Whiskey and in stock Chateau Musar 2017 wines amongst many others. If you are in Dunkeld or passing, it is more than worth a visit."
