"As a starter, I took the arancini and as the main course, I chose the Emiliana wood oven pizza. Both were delicious. If I re-visit Budapest, I will come back to TG Osteria for sure."

"I recently had my first lunch at Sugar Boat, accompanied by two friends celebrating their wedding anniversary. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the owner, Will, who didn't seem very welcoming. However, the rest of our experience was delightful. We enjoyed a gorgeous lunch, and our server—a lovely young waitress—was incredibly attentive. The highlight was definitely the delicious bread and butter pudding for two; it was absolutely scrumptious! I believe this restaurant will be a great addition to the town, and I'm looking forward to returning."

"Wow, wow, wow. What an incredible start to the week. I was sceptical at first about going to this establishment as I've never been one for the overly fancy, snobbish staff just the general stereotype of a Michelin star restaurant. Scepticism quickly transformed to admiration as this may be one of the most incredible restuarants I have ever stepped foot in. Before we get to the food, I must mount praise onto the staff. Snobbish they were absolutely not, but instead incredibly friendly, kind and some even had a sense of humour which is lost in fine dining. As for the food (ahh the food... , it was nothing short of outstanding. I had the risotto whilst my partner had the ox cheek. We both looked at each other with approval after our first bite and it only got better from there. As it was my partners birthday, they brought out a delightfully decorated cupcake which she thoroughly enjoyed and to top it off, we had the apple tart which was simply to die for. All in all, bravo Angela Hartnett. You should be proud of this establishment as we shall most certainly be present in the not too distant future to sample even more of your fine cuisine. Thank you."

"Has gone massively downhill. Returned for first time post-Pandemic for Sunday lunch. The pub felt run-down, and not decorated since the early 2010s (I remember when it was newly decorated! They were out of stock of many items, ranging from some starters through to diet soft drinks! My wife had the aubergine main course, which was undercooked and inedible. Pointed it out to the staff who shrugged. Roast beef was average, with decent meat but poor sides (e.g. roast potatoes were undercooked and not crispy"

"Not really what I expected from a fish restaurant in the City. I liked the rustic beachy decor, and the informal service. Front of house was friendly and efficient but the kitchen was appallingly slow.We started with Colchester oysters which were perfectly loosened from their shells. We did have a minute wait between ordering and actually getting our oysters. There was another minute wait for mains after getting the oyster shells cleared. First to arrive were the sides we were sharing. Chips were pleasant enough, but they were advertised as fish roe chips on the menu. No evidence of fish roe. The Asian slaw was a nice mix of finely julienned carrot, cabbage and red onion but way too salty being dressed solely with Thai fish sauce and sesame oil and black sesame seeds. It really needed something acidic and maybe a hint of sweetness. Up to this point, everything was off the regular Fish Market menu and fairly priced. For mains we had two orders of the crab roll and an octopus burger off the Claw menu. Claw is a pop up and food stall that has a temporary residence at Fish Market. Given the size and sparse amount of seafood, they were a rip off at a pop. Not terrible, but quite disappointing. My crab roll tasted primarily of commercially prepared mayonnaise. Owner of the octopus burger had the same complaint. There was some samphire on my crab roll but it added more visual interest than taste. The bread was the best part of the sandwich, being fluffy and drenched in butter before griddling. But for a sandwich with indifferent filling and some excellent bread is pretty steep."

"December 17, 2019 Very disappointed in our meal tonight. The fish and lobster pie had no lobster in it and very little fish. The size of the dish was also quite small and left me feeling hungry. When I mentioned how dissatisfied I was with the quality of the pie and the lack of lobster and very small quantity of fish the waiter said she would let the kitchen know. She returned to say that the manager had been informed of my comments on the meal. But the manager never came to speak to our complaint and the only thing that was offered to us was a free dessert. It was a overpriced considering there was hardly any fish and no lobster at all in a £14.00 fish and lobster pie. This was a much anticipated return visit as our last dinner here was very good."

"First and foremost, the service was excellent! Our server was funny, friendly and attentive, really can't fault her at all! The food was decent. We started with the seafood platter and all was very tasty though a little sparse for the price. Would suit 2 or 3 people, but for 4 it isn't a lot. The fish and chips was met with approval, so was the seabream on specials. The roasted cod dish was very nice though perhaps a little fussy? Could probably do with one less ingredient as the fish drowned in the other tastes, but it was nice and the fish very well made. The ambience gets a downgrade as there were a table of influencers in the middle of the room with a great big portable spotlight (to better light the food they weren't eating until it went cold??? which was highly distracting together with their constant photographing. I wish the restaurant hadn't put them right in the middle of the restaurant, it was annoying. Other than that, the restaurant was lovely and does warrant a return visit!"

"The produce was excellent, and the location is charming, but the service was slow and subpar. For instance, they forgot to bring cutlery with our meals and brought a dessert with whipped cream when I had specifically requested a dairy-free option. The owner became increasingly intoxicated as the evening progressed and was rude to the staff in front of customers. Additionally, the stairs to the bathroom were unlit, which posed a safety risk. I wouldn't recommend this place."

"Text: Disappointed with this restaurant which I’ve used over 8 times in 18 months. I drove from Crawley and booked ahead of time for my 66th birthday lunch a table for 4 at 1.30pm with my wife and two teenage kids aged 16&18. The price is reasonable when the quality is good the bill came to £185.00 including £20 service charge automatically added to the bill. Overview: The service was okay as usual quick but not friendly we were served by 5 different people. However what was horrible and shocking was that the food quality has dropped significantly since my last visit in September 2023. The scallops were very good as usual but the haddock and chips was very disappointing indeed…(more later) Oysters were pathetic the flesh was tiny and not tasty at all. Calamari was soft and the batter was soggy and ‘flat’. The fish and chips … haddock was dry and flakey and chewy clearly frozen fish. The batter was completely different to my last meal at Regency this time it was soggy and flat no crisp whatsoever. The chips were cold and miserable. The apple pie was disgusting really disgusting tasteless and bland and the pie crust was soft and soggy the runny cream was a bit sour and suspect my wife asked me to taste it and I poured some into my double espresso and it curdled. The tiramisu and profiteroles were ok. I just recently voted this restaurant for best in Brighton but I think that was a mistake. It’s a shame the food quality was so poor especially for simple things that should be excellent and are not technically acceptable! Poor show."

"I decided to try the number one voted fish and chips in the area while visiting the UK. I highly recommend the fish and chips, the portion size of the fish they give you is impressive. I was with a vegan eater and the restaurant was able to accommodate them with a veggie burger and chips. While speaking with the staff, they suggested I try the seafood soup, which was delicious. The fish artwork on the walls was interesting to look at while waiting for our food. The restroom was clean and well-maintained, the only downside was that it was located upstairs, but this shouldn't be an issue for most people."

"As always, Adam's Café provides food, drink, and service that are faultless. I had sardines chermoula followed a couscous royal. My dining companion had mechouia salad and marmite du pêcheur. We drank rose lemonade and sparkling water. Portions were generous, and the food was good enough to lick your plate clean. My main course came with lamb on the bone, which I love. No room for dessert but had there been, my standard request is for the salade d'oranges à la cannelle. A place at which I have dined many times, and to which I hope to return."

"The restaurant has great service from friendly staff who are always willing to assist. They are polite and efficient without being overbearing. The dining room is well presented with a good bar and service. While some dishes may be slightly overpriced, the food and drinks are all excellent with beautiful presentation. I would definitely return to this restaurant."

"Service was slow and poor. Had to ask several times for salt and mayo. Had Moules Mariniere which were nearly all closed so had to send them back. Had soft shell crab in a bun that was so over cooked it was brittle. Not a great experience. Manager was nice about it though and refunded everything bar one main course"

"The only way people would come to this place is by recommendation, not in passing as it is hard to find from the street. At first glance the sign is above a tanning saloon which appears to have gone out of business. The resturant is actually way down a side ally entered by a black door with no sign. It is a bit of an initiatve test. Once in, all is good. Although there was only one other table with customers there the whole time, so quite empty therefore lacking a little atmosphere for a Saturday night. Service food was very good. Well worth the effort in finding how to get in!."
