"Felt like we 'd been mugged!. We went to Cafe Mode last Saturday afternoon and had a starter and a couple of burgers. Starter of Doughballs was okay, but noting great. We had two gourmet burgers for mains. Burgers were overcooked and nothing special. The french fries were okay. To look at the menu we were expecting a bill of around £28, through various crafty additions, £3 for the bottle of water on the table, extra £2 for goats cheese on a burger which came with cheese etc plus a manditory service charge) they had upped it to £43.
