"What a difference a couple of days can make! The food was just as delicious as during our first visit, but the service was a different story. It's been a long time since we've encountered such a long list of service issues, from the moment we arrived right through to the difficulties we faced when it came time to pay the bill—it was truly appalling. Our friends even wondered why we had chosen Balloch House for this dining experience, despite the high quality of the food."

"I went out for a special mother's day lunch, I thought the the food was off poor quality and really over priced for what was served. I had the salmon and everything was really oily and was also served vegetables on the side which was also full of butter, spinach and the potatoes were just drained in oil not a very nice tasting experience. My mother had the sunday roast and this was very disappointing there was hardly any veggies served yorkshire pudding was tasteless. The prices for these meals for fairly expensive and they also add service charge on top and i think as they are closing down in the next week that they just don't care anymore."

"The food as such was fine, I had brisket, burnt ends and fries, but the fries were clearly reheated and pretty much on the crispier side of being edible. There were no condiments being offered, and I had to specifically ask for some. Service was indifferent but timely. In total, I would say it was not value for money."

"The Broughton Inn is a pleasant chain owned pub with traditional wood beam interior the type you would expect in a rural historic building that is over 150 years old. We visited for a pre Mothers Day meal with my parents and as they are in their eighties it was good to see that access was easy for them. One thing that they commented on was that parking was difficult as there were a lot of commercial vans taking up car parking space and they struggled to find somewhere to park. The food was very good and certainly good value for money. The waitress that served us was pleasant and attentive. The only criticism that we all agreed on was that the ambient music was a bit too loud. I am sure it didn't bother the other guests but for us it made conversational a little difficult as my parents are both a bit hard of hearing. That apart I would certainly recommend giving the Broughton Inn a visit."

"I really can't explain how good this restaurant is. I and my friend go here at least once in the week because the rams are so addicted. almost all nets can be made on request vegan and they are very courteous and friendly. in some restaurants I feel vegan judged by the workers for the demand for traditional meaty/fisheries, but they are so beautiful and understanding here. it is so good that when I and my friend go to eat and our meals to any other, we use this restaurant as a comparative point as it is always 10/10. we were about 20 times and every time we're lost for a worte. also amazing prices, we get a raming huge bowl to share and 8 pieces sushi each time and it comes to £18-20. I can't believe in how much I encourage you to go! I have no criticism."

"I ordered from this restaurant for the first time on Tuesday and was warmly greeted over the phone. The Peshwari naan, kheema naan, rice, and chicken jalfrezi were delicious, and I was pleased to find authentic Indian cuisine in Bangor. Many restaurants in the area claim to be Indian, but none compare in taste. Thank you for the great service and timely delivery. Keep up the good work. I am thrilled to have found a go-to option for when I am hungry and don't feel like cooking."

"Despite arriving 30 minutes early, we were seated immediately, and our drinks came out very quickly. I was impressed by the variety on the Sunday menu. We each ordered different roast dishes, and they were all outstanding. I tried the triple platter featuring beef, pork, and turkey. The vegetables were excellent too—at least three varieties among our group of five! The dessert selection was fantastic; I could have chosen at least three options. I ended up going with the apple and rhubarb crumble accompanied by hot custard to round off my meal. It was great value too, coming in at around £28 per person, which included two pints. And let's not forget the friendly and attentive staff!"

"I made a reservation through Opentable, but when we arrived, there was no record of it. They informed us that they don't work with Opentable. Fortunately, we didn’t have any trouble getting a table. All four of us ordered the three-meat meal, which was supposed to include beef, turkey, and pork. We received beef that was tough and filled with gristle (our dog enjoyed it when we got home), turkey, and gammon instead of pork. The meal was lukewarm, and the Yorkshire pudding was overcooked. The dessert was decent, especially the apple pie with custard served as a mini dessert alongside coffee. However, my friends ordered the Banoffee pie, and were disappointed by the very small portion they received."

"We ordered the momos, lamb chops and nepali crispy chicken. The chicken was juicy and full of flavour. The lamb chops were a disappointment, it didn’t have the usual charred flavour and it was a bit grainy rather than tender texture. The momos is a must order just because it’s an authentic starter to order. For the mains we ordered lamb kahari, fish balti and kantipur methi. My favourite was the lamb kahari, full of flavour and the lamb was tender. My least favourite is the kantipir methi, it’s quite pricey for what you get, not much meat in it and the flavour was lacking. I did also enjoy the fish balti as the fish pieces were still in tact, whereas some places make it like all mushy and just not as great. Generous portions of rice too, the garlic naan was fluffy and fresh."

"I moved to Inverness over 20 years ago, and in that time, the city center has transformed in countless ways. Businesses have come and gone, trends have risen and faded, but one thing has remained steadfast: Sam’s Indian Restaurant. Through all the changes, Sam’s has been a constant—a warm, welcoming beacon of incredible Indian cuisine. My family and I have dined with Sam many times over the years, and one thing that has always stood out is his consistency. Even as the world—and the hospitality industry—changed after COVID, Sam’s dedication to great food and exceptional service never wavered. In a time when people are more mindful of how they spend their time and money, Sam’s continues to deliver a unique and personal dining experience that’s increasingly rare in Inverness. What sets Sam’s apart isn’t just the food (which is always fantastic), but the thoughtful touches that make every visit memorable. Sam himself takes the time to speak with guests, ensuring every order is just right. On one morning visit, I even caught him arranging fresh flowers—a small detail that perfectly captures the care and pride he puts into his restaurant. Many restaurants in Inverness have lost their spark, but Sam’s remains a shining example of what great hospitality looks like. Every visit feels special, whether you’re dining in or calling for takeout. If you’re visiting Inverness and considering the city’s more well-known spots like Rockpool, Café 1, or Mustard Seed, I urge you to make room in your itinerary for Sam’s Indian Restaurant. It’s not about flashy décor or high ceilings; it’s about the taste of his food and the heart behind every dish. And yes, the place is spotless, which is just as important. Thank you, Sam, for your unwavering hospitality. I can’t wait for my next meal!"

"Very disappointing dinner on our first night in Stratford upon Avon . Staff weren’t very welcoming . Seemed preoccupied with UBER eats rather than guests in the restaurant . Starter took over an hour to arrive and was cold so had to send back . However we were still charged ! Main was mediocre . Chicken tikka starter on no sizzle plate . No hot plate to keep food warm as in usual Indian restaurants. Hot towels at end of meal arrived with a man with a jug of hot water ! Would not recommend ."

"eating was excellent (steaks, burger, starter) and we really thought that one of the kinderburgers was a grown-up. friendly staff, nice restaurant, but the place was so loud that I almost have a headache, although I was only half full. they cannot as such make them responsible for the poor only the acoustics of the space."

"We went to this restaurant for an early meal on Saturday and thought we wouldn't be there long as it was empty and had just opened. We ordered our chutney tray, drinks, and main meal and waited. The chutney tray came with poppadoms, but we noticed hairs in the chutneys. We told the waiter, who brought back the same chutney with hair in it. We complained again, but the issue wasn't resolved. The manager came out and claimed the hairs were coconut fibers, but we knew they were in all of the chutneys. We left the chutney tray and waited for our main meal, but it never came. After over an hour, we decided to leave. The staff tried to charge us for the whole meal, but we refused. We paid for the drinks and the starter with hair in it, but we were not happy. The manager made excuses while wearing dirty clothes, which was unacceptable. We left feeling disgusted and hungry, and we will never return to this restaurant. Be warned that this place is dirty, serves warm and flat drinks, has sweaty and smelly staff, overcharges for hairy food, and provides no service."

"The signature dishes at this restaurant are truly incredible and some of the best Indian food I've ever had. The chef is very talented. However, I am deducting 1 star because the man at the counter is rude and unprofessional with customers. Whenever I order through JustEat, he scolds me like I'm a misbehaving child and insists I should order directly from the restaurant because it would be cheaper (which is not true, the prices are the same or even higher when I call in). He is visibly frustrated by JustEat and takes it out on the customers. His behavior is unacceptable and I am considering not returning."
