"My wife and I traveled from Scotland to celebrate our wedding anniversary with a meal, courtesy of my elder brother. The restaurant was 80% full but we were seated promptly. The staff was friendly and helpful, answering all of our questions. We ordered 3 starters to share and 3 main dishes with rice noodles. The starters arrived in 15 minutes and were excellent. The mains arrived 10 minutes after the starters were cleared and were also delicious. The food was great, the atmosphere was excellent, and the staff provided top-notch service. "I think eating here is quite good in average, but a handful of things are really extraordinary. this five star ratings should refer to those which are now stapled. these outstanding things are in my experience in descending quality: the tarka dal (seriously, this is a cut above any other tarka dal I ever had, and I had a lot of it, and it is also vegan) the pakora. in the rule does this place, imo, the best pakora in the city. the plant and mushroom variations are particularly top. they also have some interesting, such as spinat and jalapeno, and hot and sour. the naan. the garlic and coriander, garlic chili and the peshwari are top drawers naans and good portion sizes too. I have no experience with the problems that others describe in these reviews (long waiting times, sometimes burned/overboiled foods and unpleasant interactions with workers). my positive experiences can be an artifact of the fact that I only go there and collect items in person, and eat from a limited part of the menu since I am vegan."

"Used this Chinese for years. Unfortunately since it has changed to new management the prices have gone up but the quality has gone right down. Ordered tonight and ended up having to return some of it, the food i did eat was bland. Prawn crackers are terrible now with a weird after taste. Also was over charged but didnt realise until i checked the menu. Real shame as i used to love this Chinese."

"One of the best takeaways in Birmingham. Never had anything like it.. the food and taste was on point could not fault. Portion size was perfect, first time ordering from here it will definitely be a regular. Food delivered on time and was piping hot. Delivery driver was very friendly and patient (took me a while opening the door, but he waited patiently and wasn't rude about it thank you). Great service all round and great food. Highly recommend Jolly Bengali."

"We had a lovely evening with my wife and daughters at this restaurant. It had been a while since our last visit. The staff was friendly and followed Covid safety measures. They were knowledgeable and took great care of us. The food was perfect, with fresh and flavorful spices in all our curries, served at a comfortable pace. The prices were reasonable and they also had a liquor license. I highly recommend this restaurant."

"Just had one of the best doner kebabs ive ever had. My hero big Danny from Ratemytakeaway recently visited so i thought as a local myself i'll go an see for myself. The doner meat was superb, nice n soft, melt in the mouth kinda stuff, and the mini nan bread was perfect. I dont like my sauce too nippy and this kebab sauce was excellent, great flavour n just the right amount of spice. Nice n tangy taste to sauce. Lovely jubbly. One of the best £5 notes ive spent and decent portion size that filled a big balloon like me right up. If theres any criticism it is that there prices are not same as menu. Paper menus still sitting on counter are 50p cheaper. So prices up and no new menus. Best just to get rid of small paper menus until new ones printed as there misleading customers. Also another guy in at same time should have got a can of juice with mun hy box because ur menu says including can. But on menu added to wall at front of counter it doesnt say can of juice included. So ur scrimping to save money and stopped giving away cans of juice which is a bit sneaky.. munchy boxes always have came with a can. Cannot just change it now to save about 40p for the price of a can of juice. So yes dont trust the menu and prices. But as far as my kebab went, its superb. I'll visit ur shop again for good food but correct pricing on menu and not cancelling free juice with munchy boxes woulda got u a perfect 5 star review."

"Ordered through Just Eat and they added an extra 15 minutes to the order. Phoned them 10 minutes after estimated delivery time; the woman told me that they were actually very busy today and that they were waiting on the delivery driver to return so it should only be 15 minutes. 30 minutes later it hadn 't arrived so I cancelled the order. The restaurant accused me of refusing to answer the door and accept the delivery a blatant lie. So, I walked along the road and went to Gorgie Fish Bar. The food was delicious and the service was excellent!"

"My husband and I recently ordered takeout from this restaurant. I got a pizza, chips, and a can of juice for £9.50, while my husband got pakora, sauce, curry, rice, and naan for £10.50. I left to go home while my husband waited for the meal, which we thought was a good deal. However, when my husband tried to pay with a card, he was asked to pay more than once even though the machine had already accepted the card. It seemed like they were trying to pull a fast one, so be cautious when using a card here. They claimed the machine needed more paper and my husband had to ask for a receipt, which he wasn't offered. The meal itself was tasty, but there was more sauce than meat in the curry. Additionally, there was no can of juice in the bag, so be on the lookout for any missing items. The pizza was delicious and spicy, just the way I like it, but there was no diet coke included as there should have been."

"came here for an early dinner before a concert and came here as the reviews were good and it is close to the utita arena. the entrance is located in the main street and then they go up to a beautiful open, clean room. pleasant welcome and offered a drink cobra at the take and a white wine. we ordered a main dish from specials, some bhajis (saag and mushroom and some papadums with relish. the papadums came fast and there was a bit of a waiting for the most important courses, plus the mushroom bhaji never arrived, but a wobble bhaji that we sent back. the quality and quantity was excellent. the total cost for 2 of us for a main course and 2 drinks were just under £30 each; i.e. medium price"
