"On holiday traveling through Ireland Scotland from California. Just arrived in Edinburgh and were hungry so stopped in for some take away. Best fish chips we’ve had so far on our journey! We also tried the fish cakes, salt Chili chicken, halloumi fries and the buffalo chicken burgerall excellent! "All three of us were interested to try the Dolwen beefburgers as we had been talking to the farmer from Dolwen the previous day at the end of our walk in the hills. It is commendable that The West Arms serves local food to support the community. The beefburgers were very tasty and served in a beautifully served in a fresh crisp crusted ciabatta roll. All of the food which we saw being served looked delicious. Roaring fires were very welcoming as the evenings were cooling down in September."

"Sat upstairs, no atmosphere, sticky table that hadn't been cleaned from previous, no chance of getting it sprayed over. Very poor ploughman's lunch, piece of cheese and piece of pate small enough for a child, and very small portions of everything else. Eat some of it and left the rest, left the pub and had a bag of chips down the road. Between two other meals and drinks, spent between £40 to £50 never again. Price per person: £40–50"

"We came here to celebrate our daughter birthday last weekend, there was over 25 of our family invited to the meal, all with different needs and preferences. we were asked to pre order our meal which was served to us fast. LajlaB the restaurant supervisor was looking after us she was so friendly and helpful. also a great laugh and even gave our daughter a gift which was vey much appreciated. the chefs Pow Mo and Aj was very accommodating to all the group needs. The positive was the cocktails, friendly staff service and the food was hot and very tasty maybe some more world food would compliment the menu. the negatives sorry but the car park is way too small and the wi-fi is weak. never the less we will be returning for future celebrations and we will be recommending this restaurant to all our family and friends."

"We are Cornish locals and regularly visit and stay in Bude. This was a long awaited family catch up with brother-in-law and wife on holiday from Norfolk, so no better a place to meet. Unsure of requirements I booked ahead and we were inside. Very much covid aware, one way system in place, doors fully open and tables well spaced. We sat by the door so had the advantage of the lovely sunshine. In these odd times we were thrilled to have such an extensive menu to choose from; there are the usual pub classics but we still had a difficult choice with the remainder. We ham,egg,chips (ticks all the boxes), smoked mackeral salad (very well received by my pie friendly husband). Us ladies had the mushroom/halloumi burger and I (a carnivore) the delicious vegan garden burger. All dished up with a very cheery smile and a chat. All credit to the staff who had a restaurant and a full garden of customers enjoying the sun. Thank you. One suggestion, give all diners a bowl of mixed sauce sachets; I am sure this could take the pressure off repeated requests to your lovely busy staff. See you in September for another menu favourite."

"Went down to the Eagle today with 3 mates we needed a roast after a hard night out in town.. Potatoes were amazing.. always judge a roast by these.. loved it.. thanks so much guys.. Had the side of an additional yorkshire pudding .. was...just what was needed.. Staff were really good.. felt at home.. thanks so much.."
