"We are Cornish locals and regularly visit and stay in Bude. This was a long awaited family catch up with brother-in-law and wife on holiday from Norfolk, so no better a place to meet. Unsure of requirements I booked ahead and we were inside. Very much covid aware, one way system in place, doors fully open and tables well spaced. We sat by the door so had the advantage of the lovely sunshine. In these odd times we were thrilled to have such an extensive menu to choose from; there are the usual pub classics but we still had a difficult choice with the remainder. We ham, egg, chips (ticks all the boxes), smoked mackeral salad (very well received by my pie friendly husband). Us ladies had the mushroom/halloumi burger and I (a carnivore) the delicious vegan garden burger. All dished up with a very cheery smile and a chat. All credit to the staff who had a restaurant and a full garden of customers enjoying the sun. Thank you. One suggestion, give all diners a bowl of mixed sauce sachets; I am sure this could take the pressure off repeated requests to your lovely busy staff. See you in September for another menu favourite."

We had a couple of meals at the Brendon Arms. The people were friendly and accommodating, food selection wide, quality high and portion sizes generous. With a relaxing atmosphere and reasonable prices, what more can you ask for. View menu

Another fantastic time at the Brendon Arms in Bude. We visit Bude every year and came across this gem in The food is amazing we visited twice during our holiday this time. We had a lovely Sunday lunch and a final evening meal last...night. You can tell everything is fresh and homemade! Can’t wait to visit again next year.

Has dinner here as we were staying in the attached hotel (The Falcon). Pub was busy and no tables in the restaurant area but they helpfully found us a table in the bar. Food was good and a good selection of drinks available. Seems a...very popular bar. Bearing in mind this was winter you will definitely need to book for food to be certain of a table.

We had a quick bite to eat which was very good, eating outside (our choice) meant the food cooled down quickly, but it was fine. The beer was good and the staff were efficient and the cross section of other customers was from old to...young. A nice family place to go. Would I go there again...... Not from being unhappy but I'd like to try else where. View menu

Tomato soup was tepid and tasted of tinned tomatoes with some curry powder. Completely inedible. Mackerel salad was a miniscule amount of very poor quality mackerel and tiny salad saturated in salad dressing also inedible. My partners burger was overcooked/tough and tasteless. Worst meal...I have had in many many years. Avoid if you don't want to be ripped off.

A group of us happened to be in the area at lunchtime and stopped off for a bite to eat. We arrived just before it started to get busy and were accommodated quickly. There was a good menu choice of light bites and larger meals...and the staff were courteous and efficient. The food itself was delicious. Three of my friends opted for the Ploughman's which was nice to see as a traditional but less available option these days. They all commented on how large and delicious it was and were pleased about the absence of stilton in favour of tastier alternatives. The other two of us were after something lighter, opting for a pasty and fishcakes, both also delicious. The only drawback being here that...

"So let us share our experience, We went in tonight as a family after seeing that it home made food on the drive to sennen and looked online and had a good look at the food available on the menu also looking to see if it was dog friendly and it ticked all the boxes, Upon arrival me and my wife went in 1st to ask if we could have a table for food and if dogs can go inside and staff were a little unsure but they confirmed we could upon asking for a table for 7 but one in a pram he said we don’t have the availability to cater I was looking at a table big enough and eventually said that this table was available whilst being seated we had 2 table one clean and the 2nd just been finished with so needed a clean but he came and cleaned both tables and he squirted the cleaner on a clean table and the over spray bounced off the table and went over our selfs then we were handed a menu freshly printed A4 paper thrown on the table (WET TABLE) so they stuck to the table upon agreeing what we wanted we went to the bar within 2-3 mins of being seated we knew what we wanted and when we asked for the meal it was OUT OF STOCK (Sunday lunch) ok fair so as I was with a family member at the bar I quickly rushed back to the table to ask my daughter of an alternative she wasn’t happy, So I made a meal up of all the extras on the menu so I went back to the bar to find my family member ordered 2 fish and chips then I realised my wife also wanted Sunday lunch so I quickly rushed back to ask her what she wanted and went back to the bar just as my family member left and asked for fish and chips was also sold out also! 99% of the menu was SOLD OUT this should of been discussed upon arrival not as we were ordering I run and operate my own business and this isn’t how I would treat my customers this isn’t how an establishment should be ran! Even when I was standing trying to order a member of staff was standing there arm against the wall doing nothing while customers are standing waiting to be served! So we decided not to eat and my family member went back to the bar to ask for a refund as we couldn’t eat as a family and the staff were iffy about offering a refund but 10 minutes later they did refund my family member as it became a scene for other people as they could see what had happened! This establishment should be call the 1st and late time you come here! We ended up walking to the chip shop down the road for food we are very disappointed in this company and establishment! For anyone who wants to eat please make sure they HAVE STOCK how can this establishment run without stock? Never again tonight they lost over £200 revenue due to this situation!"
