"Came here for dinner and the customer service was horrendous. We were ignored for a while and stood around waiting, despite several staff members walking past and making eye contact with us (no one was standing at the concierge reception desk). Then we were sent to the bar area to wait DESPITE having a reservation. They then proceeded to keep us waiting for a further minutes they only came to get us when I asked for the manager himself (clearly they had forgotten about us The manager then proceeded to question our booking saying it didnât exist. I showed them proof of a confirmation email, which I received yesterday, to which the manager said âthe booking is for tomorrowâ he didnât even read the date which said it was for today. Bare in mind the restaurant was not that busy at all! There were several empty tables and despite this we were kept waiting. Iâve worked in customer service so I know when the staff do not care about their customers and that was evident right here. I am highly disappointed as what was meant to be a great night had an awful start thanks to Patara. Will never be coming back here. No food is worth the disrespect. Itâs always disappointing when youâre rushing to make your booking on time, so as to not delay the restaurant but the restaurant couldnât care less about seating you on time. And then they had the gall to add service charge to my bill! After the awful service!"

"This is the most fabulous place. We loved it. We are a group of friends staying for a weekend at Mawgan Porth.. and after a lovely walk along the coast path on Sunday afternoon popped in, hoping we could just get a drink but thought that might not be welcome being a Sunday lunchtime and not wanting to eat. Well.... we needn't have worried. They could not have been more friendly and welcoming. Gave us a massive table all together (with the dog... and gave her biscuits)... and of course... one drink became several.... and we then decided we would have some small plates of food too. The food was fabulous... the service and friendliness exceptional. Highly recommend and thank you Gareth and the team for a great time. Vegetarian options: I had the mushroom soup. "I am not one to usually leave a review, however I AM IMPRESSED BEYOND EXPECTATIONS From entering the premises being greatly by friendly front of house team and manager to providing excellent customer service in dealing with all the queries and dealing with an irritable infant supporting to help settle him providing activities to keep him distracted. The service and food was to a 5* restaurant standard, with quick service and high standards if quality and freshness. Replacing cutlery between courses as you 'd expect in a 5* mainstream restaurant. The taste was simply phenomenal with all foods prepared with bursts of flavours complimenting one another delicately. Living up to the signage above the counter to SEIZE THE TASTE City centre location, with ample of parking at the rear in Pay&Display for £1.50. Pity this is not local for me I am RECOMMENDING TO EVERYONE to try and will definitely REVISIT whenever I am in Chester again."

"The food was fantastic, but the service was terrible. We arrived at an empty restaurant at 5pm and were initially told there were no tables available for 2. After insisting that we wanted to eat right away, we were finally seated. The starters were delicious, but when my burger with chips arrived, asking for some Mayo felt like a big deal. The staff didn't check on us midway through our meal and when we asked for the bill, they cleared our plates without asking about our experience. A service charge was automatically added, which we removed because we didn't feel it was deserved. The atmosphere was strange, but the food was excellent."

"I have used this restaurant now over 2 years, it is en route to my monthly hospital visit.......so, monthly since well almost every month I have enjoyed excellent cuisine, the menu is so nice and varied, so suits most palettes...mostly I dine here alone, but there have been many occasions when my good wife enjoyed the menu with me. The service is warm, friendly and reasonably served within good time. As of this August 2023 they have started a loyalty app....so now patrons can qualify for extras addons to menu at no cost . Overall a splendid Tapas bar directly opposite Belsize tube station, mI fully recommend this restaurant ....... Bon Appetit Recommended !!"

"A group of 6 friends and I gathered for drinks and food and had a wonderful evening at this restaurant! While there weren't a lot of vegetarian options, the dishes we ordered were fantastic. We enjoyed a mix of pizza and fish and chips, and everyone loved their meals. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure our drinks were full and taking our orders promptly. It was clear that everyone working there was in a great mood, which added to the pleasant atmosphere. We are excited to return in the future! Thank you to the staff for a great experience!"

"Very difficult to describe just how bad the service was here. 25-30mins to order drinks. After an hour and incorrect drinks being delivered twice it started to become quite comical….especially as the waitress wasn’t able to tell us what the drinks were she was trying to leave on the table. We left after having to ask for the bill 4 times, having the incorrect bill delivered twice and ultimately loosing our sense of humour about the whole situation. Apparently they do food. Given the drinks experience I’d suggest ordering 3-4 weeks in advance."

"I wasn't sure what to expect for lunch at this restaurant, so we decided to order four dishes. When the food arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. There were three of us and we ordered garlic shrimp, calamari, octopus, and black pudding with chorizo. I was impressed by the perfectly cooked octopus, as it wasn't rubbery at all. All the dishes we tried were beautifully cooked and very flavorful. We also had bread, aioli, olives, and two desserts (for dessert and to photograph). The staff was friendly and helpful."

"The Copper Kettle is a Cambridge institution. It's changed hands many times over the years and the current owners have a very nice Turkish slant which complements the standard English cafe food nicely. We were a group of six on a busy Boxing day and they pulled a table together for us really quickly. Food was with us less than 10 mins after ordering and we were out again in under 30 mins. Food was really good. So much better than any of the chain restaurants in Cambridge where we have ahad shocking service previously."

"We walked straight past it and someone asked if we were lost, and told us where it was. We ordered chai, everything in a box and a bhaji wrap with a samosa. It is all take away but it was quite quickly prepared. I liked my bhaji wrap particularly. My partner enjoyed his everything in a box too. The chai was sweet and tasted nice. Just look carefully at the numbers in the street!"

"Tried here for a change. Ordered poppadoms, jalfrezi, madras and tikka massalla takeaway. Meat and Paneer were good, however all the sauces had a sweet and out of a jar like consistency, which was really off putting, plus it was quite expensive compared to other places we have tried. Poppadom sauces and chutneys were the same, or watery. Definitely won't be using again."

"I reached Brighton on a Saturday evening and was hungry after a 7 hour coach trip and came across this place. From the beach, The Magic Wok is located just over about 3/4's of the way down Preston Street. There are a good few eateries on Preston Street but for price and quality of food, this place nudged it for me. Brighton overall is an expensive place and so you do expect to pay that bit more in comparison to other places however this place was quite reasonable. I opted for the Sweet and Sour chicken balls which i had with chips, which proved to be a good choice as it was nice. The next night i went back this time opting for the Beef Chow Mein, which again proved a good choice as it was delicious. The service was good too, an the chap behind the counter was friendly and helpful as he was advising me on what is around in the local area as far as shops/eateries/bars were concerned. I have nothing negative to say about the Magic Wok, i know that when i am back in Brighton, i will be heading back here. A big thumbs up!"

"Visited the Atrium on a Groupon. The deal included a glass of wine each and a main each. We came specially for the jazz. Lacked a little atmosphere before the duo came on. Some background music would be a good idea. We ordered starters calamari which was fine. I had the seabass which was tasty my husband ordered the steak which unfortunately was awful so tough . My husband sent it back and the manager was fantastic he offered a replacement main or something else so we went for a free cocktail instead. There was obviously a problem with the steak as we saw other plates going back. Not something you expect in a premium hotel in London. The service was good and attentive no big wait for drinks or the food. The jazz duo were excellent which made the evening. Although there were issues with the food it was dealt with professionally and on the whole we had q lovely evening"

"I and my latest fling dropped by don mr Pepe for a dinner that was desperately needed in London Town. We arrived and entered the Pepe and said “hola chicos”. Don mr Pepe greeted us and sat us down near a nice, gorgeous painting. We were very excited and hungry and giddy. We ordered a menu of Spanish omelette alongside gambas (prawns) garlic (ajo) bread (pan) et queso (fromage) with chorizo which altogether created an evening of real delight. The gambas disappeared within eight nanoseconds which was a telling result of my order. My husband said “wowzers now that is gambas 100%!” He couldn’t wait to tuck in to mucho. We next ordered tortilla, I thought it would make sense. What came was unexpected! It was not like the wraps you buy in Sainsbury’s it was made of egg potato’s. And the taste made me deliriously delirious. Bread. Wow. Fresh, warm, soft, crunchy just WOW. Overall, otherworldly flavours burst into my world. We can’t fault anything don mr Pepe did for us. He ran the show like he was doing a lesson in hosting. Don we cannot thank you enough for your service, kindness, deliciousness and grace. Viva la Vida Pepe."

"Nice staff, some interesting things on the menu, but its probably better if you don't deviate from the tried and tested pub favourites. Unfortunately I opted for the Swordfish with garlic prawns, I absolutely love swordfish and ate a lot of it when I lived in Cyprus, this particular piece was rock hard and I borrowed one of our parties steak knives to cut it. It was accompanied by the largest portion of tiny garlic shrimp you have ever seen, I was very disappointed it was not what i was expecting. Another in our party had the fish and chips which he declared totally tasteless. The steak and the burger the others in our party had were fine apparently. I don't want to pan a nice little village pub/hotel but would suggest you stay away from the more adventurous options on the menu,"
