"Went for Sunday lunch. Cosy historic atmosphere. Ordered 'vegetable au gratin ' served with ciabatta. Informed that they were out of breadcrumbs ! for the topping. Received a large plateful topped with cheesy potatoes. I put my fork in expecting a selection of vegetables only to pull out tagliatelle! Further investigation revealed that the main ingredient was pasta! A small handful of vegetables some undercooked were scattered around the edge of the plate. Two large pieces of ciabatta arrived along with a side of chips. Four portions of carbs and hardly any vegetables! Not what I expected or wanted and much was left uneaten. My four meat eating relatives all enjoyed their meals apart from the accompanying vegetables which had hardly been cooked and were almost raw. The portions were very large which resulted in some waste. Overall very disappointed."

See reviews for New Inn, same ownership, Dirty rooms, terrible food. I would not stay here for free.

Decor could do with a bit of work but the food is fantastic. Hubby had a burger and I had the pork with stilton sauce, we couldn't fault either.

Quirky little village pub. Busy with locals watching the rugby. Friendly atmosphere and welcoming owner. Unfortunately wasn't serving meals the weekend we went, but will return to try the food View menu

A wonderful pub with a good local atmosphere lovely lady and great large portions of food Some may not like the style of the pub as it is a proper original pub not a modern one where u are served and forgotten brilliant place

We booked a table for some food and all I can say is WOW!!!! Absolutely delicious. It was not very busy whilst we were in there but the staff were very friendly and welcoming. If you need a place to eat then this is definately the place to go

On first impressions the Tanat does seem a bit tired and dowdy but once you get settled in you realise it's pleasant and friendly and then comes the food. You need to be hungry as there is plenty of it and all the meals were excellent. If it's good food at reasonable prices you want then pay a visit. View menu

Found this hidden gem whilst driving to Pwllheli. Very atmospheric circa.1530 pub. Portions are very very generous all locally sourced produce, great real ale. I ordered the Tanat Mixed Grill absolutely outstanding and HUGE!!! Friends had Ham, Egg and chips and cheese/onion sandwich all HUGE portions and all locally sourced.

Friendly staff, friendly customers, great food and reasonable prices. Cant fault the place. Its true that there is some need for internal decorating, however, this in no way detracts from the experience. We all know that pubs are having a hard time making ends meet, so lets give these people some credit!!! We will be going back, in fact we have, time and again. I had the mixed grill, never have I seen (or eaten) anything like it!!!
