The pub was packed but the service from Theresa was excellent, especially as she had a couple of rowdy tables to deal with! Highly recommended."

"I booked a table at Divo’s at The Black Horse for myself, my partner and our 4 year old son for 6pm. We arrived and were told they were fully booked and had no space for us. The lady who we spoke to was extremely rude and simply said ‘Open Table isn’t up to date’ however, when you book a table via your website you are automatically direct to the Open Table website. If this ‘isn’t up to date’, I suggest you look into using a new booking system. We then had to leave as there was no space for us despite having booked a table 5 hours in advance. The customer service we received from the staff was horrendous and my son left in tears. Is this how you treat your new customers? Why are you using Open Table if it doesn’t work? I also had to enter my card details in order to book a table so please ensure these details are deleted ASAP. We didn’t even receive an apology; just a woman saying ‘nah, no space’ how rude and disgusting."

"Terrible really. It was busy. Shown to table and after mins had to grab a waiter to order a drink and popadoms. Drinks arrived. Food order given. Now half an hour gone. Couple on another table left, no service. Starter arrived, nice. Main course arrived after a further min wait ... chaos. Never seen such bad service in this restaurant. "I had the worst restaurant experience in Edinburgh at this place. The food was not good (we ordered the chili chicken ramen, regular chicken ramen, and vegetable gyoza). The service was really bad too. My friend got their food but I had to wait over 20 minutes because no one checked on us. I had to ask a different server for my food, and it wasn't even being prepared. Definitely not worth it. If you want ramen, go to Maki and Ramen instead - it's much better. There are also better Asian food options in town."

"Unfortunately we had a very bad experience on our visit this weekend. Firstly I found a peice of hair in the salad that was presented to our table, we had this replaced and thought it must be a one-off. How wrong we were! Along came our starters and mains, the lamb curryhad another black hair.He returned to ask it what we wanted. We thought we would give it another chance... A huge mistake. Once we finished our meal, I noticed another hair. The waiters were great apologised but when it came to paying the bill and we mentioned the hair episodes, we were further shocked the manager told us that this had been a common occurrence in recent weeks and lots of people had complained about this. Had we not mentioned this to him he was ready to just take our payment and not mention a thing. Very disappointed, sad to say this is the last visit from us"

"I had an worst experience of my life by spending more than on the food from Ragam. Worst, stale , not at all fresh food they are selling. I am sure it is prepared atleast a day before and put in the fridge and just selling by heating on the date of order. One of my family member got ill as well and had to spent all night puking. Please be aware before you try the food from this restaurant. I will never recommend anyone even if Ragam is giving food for free. Packed food from Tesco's etc stores will be far better and fresh than this restaurant food. Please also see there is not even a single bad review on their website as they do not let that reflected on their website. I am sure even on delivery sites good reviews are put up by their own known people considering the kind of food they are selling. Be Safe"

"I 'm a lover of hot curries..and I mean really,really hot curries: A Vindaloo is mild to my palate,so I thought I 'd go one step up and order a Chicken Phall from City Spice. I 'm glad to say it didn 't disappoint. The Chicken was perfectly cooked;fibrous,generous,great texture and not at all like that rubbery,watery injected stuff. (as is customary in so many Indian restaurants these days).The sauce was to die for and had the perfect pureed consistency...cooked and roasted to perfection...Thank you Chef,you have a great palate.. The meal had the taste of a true 'BIR ' (British Indian Restaurant) in the same way I remember it from the 80 's, when we used to stagger home drunk and stop at the nearest Indian restaurant on the way home. The portions are very generous too.Don 't hesitate to order from City Spice. I find that the true benchmark for any Indian restaurant/takeaway is how well they cook their hot curries...If the really hot curries are good the rest of the menu will be outstanding. I 'll definitely be a regular customer here!"

"Many moons back, my Indian wife and I were havering about buying a house on the Cambridge hill, waked down for a meal at what was then Cocum, subsequently Nivedyam and now Pakka and the quality of the meal led us to set up home nearby! "I was having a birthday weekend and had booked to go to my favourite noodle bar. Turned up and it was closed, so had to look for an alternative. We walked around a little and found this place and took a chance and went in. It was absolutely the best decision we could have made. We ordered noodles, Caramelised Pork, Chicken Wings and vegetables in Ginger. The pork was melt in the mouth and the wings crispy and seasoned just right. The chicken Noodles were so good I found it hard to stop eating. We topped this off with some Sake and the evening's feast was complete. I cannot fault this place, if you want delicious food, great company (our waiter was funny and charming), then this is the place for you. It's my new favourite and I would definitely return."

"I would support everything that previous reviewers have said about this Indian restaurant. However, they must be aware that they add 10% service to their total without it in any way. so it is only if they cancel the bill, they will notice that their total amount should be 10% more than it should be and there is no warning why. no rake 10 service and no carry in the gap. this is dishonest and misleading and probably leads to an ugly 20% tip. I have always added service without recognizing that they contain it a very underhand and hidden art. I asked the waiter who became a little shy and said his boss told them to do it. I like eating, but I'm not going back."
