"From the first mouthful I knew we had made a mistake we should have left.. The place had mixed reviews so I was wary but thought I'd give it a go with the family for my wife's birthday. We went at the end of January 2015 not the busiest day of the week or the busiest month, the place was half full with 2 waiters. From the first mouthful of the 1st dish I knew we had made a mistake we should have left... I won't go into the detail of every dish, but the highlights were: 1/2 crispy duck, a peculiarly small portion, that had been shredded in the kitchen so who knows what we were given, tiny portion of cucumber and spring onions, restaurants usually cut some/all of the skin off of...read more"

"if they are ravenous and in the mood for authentic curry, then brick lane can be both a blessing and a curse. the great number of places that claim to be the best in london, Britain and the world is simply crazy. if that is not enough, there are always the touts that try to sue them with promise of freebies and high-quality eating – they try to guess which they get more likely. we were in the hub by premier inn hotel in the middle of lane brick, so that of course dinner on Saturday evening Indian food would involve. trawling through tripadvisor and other blogs with reviews of the contrary it was not easy to decide at a venue. many critiken were lied to by people who were lied to by the touts of free drinks and cheap bills. others praised the world-class cuisine coming from these small restaurants. such a place was dosa world. from outside dosa the world looks like any other dining on brick, slightly rough around the edges, but with a promising menu that specializes in the South Indian cuisine at a decent price. we entered without reservation, but there appeared many patrons here doing the same. the service was friendly and menus were given immediately. it is worth noting that the restaurant does not serve alcohol – only for the case that they want a beer."

"We were greeted with papadoms and a variety of sauces including chutney, mango, pickled achaar. The large mix grill had a variety of meat with kebab, chicken, wings and lamb chops which were tasty. Tried the lamb karahi, chicken karahi and ghoust saag. All curries were flavourful with a decent amount of spice, which I enjoyed as it was a good level of spice for me personally. If you are a fan of spicy spicy food, this probably won’t hit the spot. Best naans I have ever had! Recommend opting for these. They are amazingly soft. I loved the mango lassi, sweetness to compliment my meal. Chips were over fried. Beautiful interior, clean toilets and good customer service."

"The smoothie was delicious and really hit the spot. It was so good it even made me a little tipsy. However, I was a bit disappointed with the crepe as it was cold. Overall, it is still a great place and I would recommend it!"

"This was my first visit to the newly revamped Indian restaurant, and I was truly delighted and impressed. I went with my family, and every dish we tried was outstanding. This is exactly what Wanstead needed, and I highly recommend it to everyone. My mother especially loved the chili salmon. The service was excellent, and we will definitely be returning in the new year."

"I will not recommend this restaurant to any INDIANS and to be honest, to anyone. The one star review are not lying. We ordered a paneer sabji and it was so sour that it was unbearable, when we told them they just added water in it and removed half of the gravy. Then we order pulao and it was very oily and felt like they were uncooked that was the time I realised that the food they serve is just ready to eat meals heated up. Don’t eat Indian food here it is just a waste of money instead just enjoy local food"

"I made a reservation for Father's Day, only to be informed upon arrival that they do not accept lunchtime bookings. I believe it would have been helpful to notify us in advance about this policy, especially on a special occasion like Father's Day. We were quite disappointed, as we were looking forward to enjoying a nice meal there. The response we received was unsatisfactory, and I’m not sure whose responsibility it was to manage the bookings. Hopefully, next time there will be better communication."

"Initially I was surprised at the entrance of the restaurant as it looked as though it needed some TLC and did not look like the pictures, but once we were greeted by a lovely host my concerns evaporated and I was looking forward to a lovely authentic meal. Although the staff were lovely and kind, unfortunately the food was not the best. Starters at £9 each and the samosas and the vegetable kebab were well below standard. The samosa was in a type of short crust pastry which I have never had anywhere before and was flavorless. The mains were a good portion size and one rice portion was enough for 2, but the curries lack of flavor, almost made me want to ask for some salt. Even with the discount applied my bill would be the same at any Indian restaurant, so was not worth making the trip. Considering its rating of 9.3 on here, I was expecting a lot more, as well as the area and prices displayed. £5,50 for a bottle of still water kind of summed it up."

"After living in Xi 'an for a while, I now miss the combination of flavours that differs from many other Chinese cuisines. Middle eastern scents of herbs and spices with the use of lamb likely an influence from the western/northern ethnic minorities of China who have ancestors spanning Mongolia and the Middle East. The Altaic fusion with more traditional Chinese hand pulled/cut noodles in clear(ish) broth, xi 'an sandwich etc bring me back to my home away from home. Although in Xi 'an you can expect the sandwich to be a lot more oily from the street vendors as well as more generously packed with fillings. Even the smell of the place when you walk in reminds me of xi 'an, it 's only missing the smell of exhaust fumes and rampart use of car horns to make it 100% authentic. It is the closest I 've come to the food of xi 'an since leaving, and it 's a relief to see someone specialise in one area of cuisine rather than trying to do everything. The staff are great and when not busy juggling customers and plates, are warm and enjoy conversing if that 's what you want. You should book if you plan to eat from 6pm onwards as it gets very busy. They do takeaway too. Don 't expect your English 'Chinese ' food here, but if you 've been to northern China and miss it, you can come here to reminisce a little."

"We visited this place on Saturday night, a mixed group of 6. We couldn't fault anything. We all selected different things from the menu, and all the dishes are delicious, plentiful and hot. We were told there number of items not available, but there is so much choice we easily found satisfactory substitutes. The pub itself is quite small, so would not be suitable for a large group. But we loved it. The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. We will definitely go back."

"Had an amazing meal this week at Coppers and amazing hospitality from Sam and his wife. The food is fresh, clean, not oily and not your usual menu. My husband had the New Delhi chicken curry and I had the lamb shank which was absolutely delicious tasting all the flavours of every spice. Same with the garlic coriander naan and onion bhajis where we could taste every spice and not oily at all. If you want an authentic Indian meal and are in Hythe then this is a must visit."

"This evening my boyfriend and I visited the restaurant reluctantly and unsure of what they would have on offer for me (a vegan). But to my delight, they were able to cater to my every need and more. Siddhesh answered every question with confidence and knowledge. The staff were lovely and polite, whilst delivering a quick and pleasant service. I am so pleased with my visit to the restaurant, as not only were the above positives present the food was delicious too!! They also had a vegan chocolate cake which was superb. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant in future! Thank you to you all!"

"Zamana is our top choice for a meal. We absolutely love the food, the staff are incredibly friendly, and the decor is so inviting. The dishes are fantastic, especially the starters, tender lamb chops, chaat, and lahori boti. The lamb and chicken karahi paired with warm, soft naan are simply delicious. Don't miss out on the gajar halwa for dessert—it's a must-try! The owner is always welcoming, and they go out of their way to accommodate us, even during busy times. I highly recommend giving Zamana a try; you won't be disappointed."

"Underwhelming second time round. We first came back in 2020, and the food was authentic and flavours on point. It has been a talking point with my partner and we knew when we came back to Devon for our mini break away, we just had to come to the thai again, having had such good experience the last time. This time round, seems a massive drop in quality? The food tasted bland. And the prices aren’t cheap either. i don’t mind paying higher prices but I expect top notch food for it. Portion of rice very small, massaman was super runny, like they had watered it down to make more sauce but had diluted the flavour? Didnt feel authentic. No potatoes, no cashews or peanuts. Pad thai again didnt have much flavour to it. Satay barely tasted like peanuts. I looked at photos of the food from 2020 and it’s like they’ve either changed owners or the chef. Or maybe they’re just penny pinching on ingredients these days? If i could liken this meal to any song Shania Twain’s “that don’t impress me much!” comes to mind!!"

"Being locals we expected our Xmas night to be festive and fun. Ordered a couple of bottles of wine and then were told they had no wine glasses left so make do with tumblers. A couple ordered gin but had no gin glasses.Food okay as was the service.Owner apologised for no glasses but surely at Xmas you'd ensure you have enough for those booked in?Disappointed on a lovely place."

"My wife and two of our friends visited this establishment on Saturday 4th of May. My experience at this restaurant was both good and bad however the bad overweighted the good. We had only sat down and in less than a minute a young man asked us if we were ready to order drinks (we hadn’t even looked at the menu) the same man asked us a total of 3 times within 5/10 minutes if we were ready to order, which made us feel rushed. Our starters arrived fast and we enjoyed them. We had then got warm plates for our main course, however we sat with the plates and no food for about 5 minutes which didn’t make sense as our plates were then cold and noticed that this was a common occurrence within the restaurant as a few other tables seemed to have been sitting with empty plates. The food itself was flavourful and was high quality. The views of the water are beautiful. The atmosphere was lively and staff were friendly however some seemed rushed as the girl who served us our food physically ran back down the restaurant this along with being rushed to order was not polite. Overall our food and drinks were delicious and our interactions with most of the staff was pleasant."

"I was impressed by the TSB branch located in Newcastle city centre on Ridley Place. Compared to other TSB branches I have visited in Middleton and Manchester City Centre, this branch is much larger and more technologically advanced. The indoor cash machines and paying in machines were a pleasant surprise, as was the free wi-fi. The branch follows the traditional TSB colour scheme and has a manned desk for those who prefer speaking to someone in person. However, I found the staff to be less helpful and friendly compared to other banks like Natwest and Halifax. Overall, I would rate this branch as average compared to other banks, but as the best TSB branch I have visited, it deserves three stars."
