"The breakfast was brilliant, really tasty and great value. The service was really disappointed though, friendly staff but just need to sort it out a bit. We ordered 4 breakfasts and soon after 3 arrived. The fourth order was off the menu but we hadn't been told and so had to order again from scratch, and even then the order was wrong despite it being checked twice. Drinks arrived after food and seemed chaotic. A shame really as the food was really really good!"

"The restaurant was quite busy for a Monday, but I waited over 90 minutes for a cheeseboard. When I chased after about 50 minutes, I was told by the supervisor that they were working on it. The supervisor later came and asked if it was the burger I had ordered, even though I had confirmed it was the cheeseboard. After waiting for 90 minutes, I went to the bar and canceled my order. However, a staff member informed me that they couldn't refund me and I would have to see reception. This was a disappointing customer service experience. The only positives were the lady behind the bar who tried her best to help in a courteous manner, and the guy on reception who handled the situation professionally. Overall, it was a bad experience for a simple cheeseboard order."

"We had been led to believe from the website you couldn't book a table here so we just turned up on the off chance. Turns out their website was wrong and you could book. Never the less they managed to squeeze us in. I ordered the hot dog which when it arrived a was shocked to see it looked like the cheapest sausage they could have possibly found. However, it tasted absolutely amazing so don't let that put you off! We got two cocktails as they were on a 2 for £12 offer. When the bill arrived they hadn't charged us the special offer for the cocktails. That was easily rectified however."

"We booked a family lunch to get together, we don't live locally but we have hired the tepee a few years ago for a party. We knew the venue would be perfect for a sunny day and it was; However the food really wasn't good , the lamb was tough and many aspects of the two courses we all ordered tasted synthetic (shop bought and not tasty) we all love cauliflower cheese and this just wasn't cheesy?? Ordinarily we are not fussy but this was a Sunday Roast? not good value as we left a great deal. The staff were gracious and the price of one bottle of wine was taken from the bill. Sadly we won't rush back to eat here."

"My wife and I had breakfast for the first time this morning at the 'Longholme Cafe '. We were very impressed by the overall set up, with seating outside and in. They are definitely covid friendly, providing overhead patio heaters and blankets to keep you warm if you wish to use them. The service given was attentive and informal without being overbearing. I ordered the 'Longholme Hash ' which was tasty and perfectly seasoned. My wife ordered the brioche bun with a free range egg and smoked bacon, which she enjoyed and said was very tasty. Having tried and been impressed with the overall package at the Longholme Cafe, we shall certainly return."

"After reading real good reviews, I had been waiting to check this place out for quite sometime now and finally today I did! I mean c 'mon now, the only grilled cheese sandwich shop in London! Who wouldn 't wanna go? Food: grilled cheese it is. A tiny cute place with a very appealing menu. We ordered Mac 'n 'cheese, BBQ Chicken and Portobello Mushroom. For the price of around £5 each it wasn 't bad at all! Though we were expecting something more fancy but it 's cheap and it 's cheese AND we were completely stuffed with just one. My friend who got the one with chicken didn 't find it that great to be honest. Maybe because of all the raised expectations and imagination. Service: the staff was really polite and nice. Full points to them! Ambience: the bright yellow and white tiny shop definitely gives a very nice vibe. Definitely worth a try!"

"The staff at this restaurant are incredibly friendly, making for an excellent dining experience. The interactive tables also provide endless fun for children. I ordered a rib-eye steak cooked blue, which can be tricky to get right. They offered to cook it at my table, which I might try next time, but I wanted to see how they prepared it. The first attempt was still cold in the middle, but that wasn’t an issue for them. They simply placed it on the grill mat for another 30 seconds, and it turned out perfect. My daughter had a delicious waffle with speck and maple syrup, and she loved it. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I will definitely be returning."

"This was a post business meeting lunch of 5 people, week day lunchtime and the restaurant was very quiet. The service wasnt speedy, the food did take a good while to arrive but it was freshly cooked so worth the wait. The restaurant/cafe is clean and basic but welcoming. The menu is very good and the food on both occasions we have eaten there has been above average. Value for money it is pub prices or higher but no complaints."

"We visited for an early evening music slot and enjoyed both the performance (Lee Bardsley and India Shan Merritt) and the venue. Nom is a comfortable place to be with a good range of drinks, including cocktails. The only negative (minus 1 star) was the lack of bar food, which was limited to small, but well filled bowls of unsalted cashews and peanuts. We noticed that other customers also enquired about food, so I expect that there's a demand Nom stops serving meals at 4.00pm which makes sense when you're closing at 5.00pm, but this happens even on their late opening days (Thurs, Fri, Sat). So, Nom is a nice place to visit with an attractive menu (unsampled by us), good service and a relaxed atmosphere just don't expect to eat after last orders at 4.00pm."

"Popped in for lunch on a recent trip to Edinburgh and was immediately drawn in by the cheerful appearance and extensive (and VERY reasonably priced) menu. We took so long to decide on our choices that it became a standing joke with the owner when we returned for brunch the following day! For such a small venture, the menu is vast, though the owner assured me that everything is homemade. Having tasted it, I believe him! My daughter enjoyed a toasted tuna and cheese bagel with a side of herby baked beans (utterly delicious), while I had the pulled pork and chipotle bean stew, which was topped with sour cream and jalapenos, and served with a side salad of leaves, tomato, toasted seeds and a balsamic drizzle. If you aren 't a fan of heat, it 's probably best to shy away from the stew as it was rather spicy, but it was tempered by the sour cream. The following day my daughter had the breakfast wrap, containing a 2 egg omelette, tomato, and a choice of filling. I had 'beans on toast ' which comprised homemade baked beans with thick slabs of crusty toasted bread, topped with a poached egg. As I can 't eat eggs, this was changed for a couple of rasher of bacon without a quibble. This is a fabulous little cafe with some really inventive items on the menu the Ultimate Macaroni Sandwich springs to mind! Give it a try!"

"Came here earlier with my friend. There was no queue, the people working there was nice. HOWEVER if you are a student and want something cheap, this is not the place. I offered to pay for my friend since it was her birthday and for the two of us it came to £38 (rip debit card). The food was so nice, the burger was a bit dry but that’s due to me not asking for ketchup in my burger. It was really nice and there was a calming atmosphere, will probably be back next month xd"

"The staff at Slim's are incredibly kind and welcoming. However, during our visit, many items on the menu were not available, such as fresh-pressed juice and cauliflower buffalo wings, which I was interested in trying. It is possible that these items were unavailable due to Covid restrictions, so I am willing to overlook this. My husband, who eats meat, enjoyed the lobster roll he ordered, while I found the beetroot and goat's cheese salad to be delicious. Unfortunately, the oat milk turmeric latte I ordered was not good. I have had many turmeric lattes in the past, but this one did not meet my expectations."

"Ok I cannot complain about the coffee itself choice of espressos and served hot along with water perfect. But slow service few places to sit and then only cakes on offer. What happened to all the food options that made this place special. No melted cheese sandwiches for starters! his is what made Cairngorm stand out and a destination for coffee... now I may go if I need a fix and I am in the close vicinity optherwise I'll look elsewhere. Shame. As said in other reviews I do wonder if this is COVID enforced changes but almost every place I have been recently is severely lacking. We all understand the pressures but paying the same price for 50% of the service/product doesn't make anyone feel good."

"my friend and I went there on a gray and rainy day before I visited the hole leven closed. we were so happy to find such a cozy place to keep us warm and dry for a little past I had only one cappuccino (with milk, but my friend had some toasts with bananas and drip butter that were delicious and filled. he also ordered a cappuccino, but originally wanted a hot chocolate. the waitress (owner? told us that the chocolate was not vegan, even before we asked her that I thought was really nice and thought of her! vegetarian items are clearly marked on the menu with the lists of ingredients, so they can simply take off whether they are vegan or not, or simply ask the nice team there, they will know. a very beautiful surprise in kinross! updated from the previous review on 2018-08-28"

"it seemed as though margate was still firmly attached to board and was locked for the winter when we visited a sunny day of February from london before some weeks ago. so it was a bit about finding somewhere that a bit more tasty...as bog standard fish and chips on the empty beach or greasy kebab from the takeouts, the marine parade. we tried the caffe in turner contemporary, but it has not been called. we came to the happiness about the cozy little cafe called "the greedy cow cafe" on the small market place in the old town, opposite the margate museum. the caffe is located in one of the quirky old buildings of the old city. the building is a bit old-worldly wondered. the interior decor is decided vintage, quite shameful chic, but very clean and very appealing, especially for the arty-farty quantity. we were warmly welcomed and have made our way to the small dining room above, already filled with diners. the seats are located on the tables in the trestle style; we had a great place on the window with views of the small square and the museum. the only seat in the ground floor is located outside the small square. it's the food that grabs a hit here. the lunch menu is kreatiw, innovatiw and really interesting. everything speaks of taste and freshness; everything pays attention to detail and attention. it's far from the usual farewell here. there is a good selection of dresses, including burger, and an extensive menu for children. there is also a rather exotic breakfast card. no “Full English” here; think “Banana and pistachio Toastie” or “Bacon and guacamole Bun”. there are many options for vegans. our meals were the falafel and the beetroot hummus and the pulled pork. both were delicious. the spiced criminal falcon was accompanied by rose water urissa, beetroot hummus, and a tomato bevel and gurkensalat on a bed of couscous; it was served with the liders of the sourdough. the pulled pork dish was a roasted brioche book with juicy roasted shoulder of pork, dressed with homemade BBQ sauce and a celery tail. we enjoyed our meal very much. the portions were abundant. AtWe’ve certainly put it on our radar, and will see again as soon as the possibilities allow."

"I had lunch here today with my daughter. There was a very welcoming atmosphere. My daughter is vegetarian and lactose intolerant and there were plenty of options for her to choose from. A member of staff, (I didn't catch his name), was very helpful and went through the options with her. The food was excellent and exceeded my expectations. I was hoping to have a piece of cake, as they all looked delicious, but I was too full. I will return soon to try one. I left feeling uplifted. Well worth a visit."

"Not a great experience for a first time visit. Service was incredibly lame the staff just didn’t seem on the ball at all. 20 mins just to take a drinks order isn’t ideal (only a few covers were present in the restaurant at this point). The meat board was good by way of the meats being cooked very well, but the amount of salt used was just excessive even Salt BAE would have difficulty sprinkling that amount of salt on meat. Our mouths were burning and many, many bottles of mineral water were consumed as a result of how salty the meat was. Further drink orders were place only to be waiting for 15 mins for them to arrive (only after I prompted one of the waiters to bring our drinks to the table). I was then presented with a £18 service charge which I felt was not deserved owing to the front of house staff not providing a dining experience that, at a bare minimum, was hoped for. I opted to pay £5 instead only to be told by the waiter “I’ll remove the whole charge”. He was obviously aware of the poor service we had received. I’m sorry, but I won’t be returning nor will I recommend this restaurant."

"Friendly service with fantastic food! We ordered lunch were served quickly, which is always good. I had a goats cheese beetroot toasty which came with a small selection of side salads. It was all fresh tasty. My mother was genuinely surprised by the amount of food on her plate, that was quite amusing. I had a look around at the other customers food the pancakes were amazing! We would have loved a cake from them because they looked delicious but couldn't fit them in. If we go back to Ripon we'd love to visit again! The cafe is at the top of the building so if you get a window seat you'll get an interesting view of the going ons down on the street. One of the most important things to me about this place is that it's dog friendly which definitely isn't the case everywhere in Ripon!"
