"Went here for the first time after hearing good things about them from literally everyone lol Burger was delicious and didn 't give me that crash that fast food places do, probably because of no preservatives and no artificial junk, I got the cheese burger with all the way toppings, (was good as hell too) tho I would maybe recommended getting 1 patty because two can be a bit much at times id imagine The fries were also delicious and there were a lot in the bag (you only need a small fry imo) , they were very filling and actually tasted like a potato (unlike most places) there was so many fries that I couldn 't finish it and brought some with me for the road. Overall 10/10 and was worth it for what I got and to the people who compare this to McDonald 's or Burger King, 5 guys isn 't competing with them they are a burger joint not fast food, and if you compare the prices to other burger joints it 's more in line, Thanks for reading my long review."

"Had brunch yesterday absolutely fabulous. I had the eggs that were the special and my husband had a sandwich that was also a special. The eggs on sough dour toast were scrambled and served with Harrisa tomatoes/ peppers and feta. Totally delicious . Sandwich was full and flavoursome Turkey , pigs in blankets , stuffing …. We also had a sweet treat and flat white coffees these are the best in York ! String and rich. Carafe of water automatically supplied for the table. The staff were so lovely. Friendly and smily. It was a pleasure being in their work space. I spilt some butter on my trousers and they were very helpful in assisting my removing the stain. The day before we’d had coffee and cakes at the Bake house two doors down which again was very good. The spiced apple cake in particular was delicious. Throughly recommend."

"My wife and I have been regular goers to Maegden since it was the wee caravan next to the Giants Causeway. We travel down from Belfast at least once a month for a grilled cheese and bonfire hot chocolate! Now it is in Bushmill 's it 's even better providing seating and selling local produce from across the Island. The girls who run it are absolute Angel 's and so, so friendly and talkative. Impossible to describe to folk just how good a toastie can be, but trust me, it 's well worth the hours travel and paying a few quid. Their bonfire hot chocolate isn 't overly sweet nor does it have that artificial taste you would get from the likes of Costa/Starbucks. The marshmallow fluff they use on top is made by themselves and torched perfectly. It 's 09.40am and my belly is now rumbling for a Maegden!!!! Side note: their candied jalepenos are to die for! An absolute 10/10 I recommend it to everyone!"

"I visit here often and there's a reason I went out on a blustery day to walk the 10 minutes there. The lovely women who work there clearly have a passion and pride for delicious healthy food. Made to feel welcome as soon as I enter, I'm given today's specials and offered a taster of delicious mushroom soup. I plumped for an Italian wrap and parsnip and ginger cake both were delicious and carefully prepared. Would recommend this little gem to anyone!"

"I just wanted to share my fantastic experience at Tim Hortons today. The staff member, Guru, noticed that I was on crutches waiting for my food after placing my order. He kindly told me to sit down and brought my food over to me. About 30 minutes later, he returned to check if I wanted another coffee, which I happily accepted. The breakfast bacon roll and French Vanilla coffee were delicious. I want to extend my gratitude to Guru for his exceptional service and professionalism; it’s clear he loves the brand and his job. Other companies could really take a lesson from your hiring and training practices. Thank you so much, Tim Hortons—you're amazing!"

"this is a cheese lover dream here! I bought the cheese fiend voucher for my sister birthday, mozarella sticks, grilled cheese sandwich, whole baked cheese and then dessert. I made a reservation and then had to change it unfortunately - that was not a problem, and the service had been excellent before my visit. once in the restaurant the ambiente is cozy and the staff is friendly and attentive to their needs and then there is the food! while I already planned to visit my next visit when eating, in which I am really happy to visit once, but I will definitely come back to try the fondue"

"This is the worst place. I will never try to enter it again as they have a very rude and tough staff. The Lady on the door told us to wait in the corner for 20 minutes in order to enter the resturant although there were lots of empty table in the front. I asked her if these tables are reserved she replied me in a very rude way”Madam!!!you can't enter now and that set” This is because she saw me wearing Hijaab scarf) . This is very racist and not acceptable. I don't recommend such these resturants to Muslim families unless they choose a good staff who are gentle and fair to all customers. Very shameful to meet such racist people!!!"

"If you're looking to upgrade from Burger King, be prepared to bring your wallet to this restaurant. I was surprised to see that a basic burger, small fries, and milkshake for one person cost £20. While the food was tastier than BK and felt more like a diner meal, the price caught me off guard. If I had bought lunch for a family of four, it would have been even more expensive, especially when considering a trip to the neighboring Cinema or Rock Up climbing center. The decor and furniture seemed cheap and the ambience was lacking. The service was adequate but nothing special, and I was unsure why there was a tip jar at the order counter. Despite the high price, the milkshake was delicious and not overwhelming. I had heard great things about Five Guys, but the cost is making me hesitant to return."

"Entering the cafe, I was met with complete disregard from the staff. Not only did they fail to offer me a menu, but despite their website claiming food service until 3:30 PM, I was bluntly denied food at 3:04 PM. This experience was truly disappointing, especially after a 20-minute journey just for a midday coffee. The staff appeared more engrossed in petting dogs and chatting among themselves and other customers, completely neglecting any form of acknowledgment or welcoming atmosphere for patrons like myself. It's a lamentable display of customer service"

"**Meal Type:** Brunch **Price per Person:** £10–20 **Food Rating:** 3/5 **Service Rating:** 5/5 **Atmosphere Rating:** 4/5 If you're in the mood for brunch, this place has some popular dishes like the English Breakfast, Traditional Breakfast, Eggs Royale, and Lakeview Benedict, all of which showcase classic flavors. However, the food itself could use a bit more finesse, as I would rate it a 3 out of 5. On the brighter side, the service was exceptional, earning a perfect 5 out of 5. The staff was friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall experience. The atmosphere was also quite pleasant, receiving a solid 4 out of 5; it strikes a nice balance between cozy and vibrant. One thing to note for vegetarians: I wouldn't recommend this spot, as the options are quite limited. Overall, it's a decent choice for brunch, especially if you're a fan of traditional breakfast dishes."

"This charming little independent restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking for vegan-friendly options. Don't let the scaffolding outside deter you, just aim for the Laing Gallery and you'll find this hidden gem. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with friendly staff and a variety of delicious vegan dishes to choose from. The food is top-notch and offers great value for the quality ingredients used. The cocktails are also something to write home about, with unique options like a well-crafted Julep. While you can stop by for a drink, I highly recommend trying some of the food options as well. The menu may seem limited, but there are plenty of choices for both vegan and gluten-free diets. Overall, this place is definitely worth a visit for its flavorful dishes and ethical practices. And in these uncertain times, rest assured that all necessary safety measures are being taken to ensure a worry-free dining experience."

"The food was delicious. A full choice in the menu and a great deal of choice on a specials board. The children’s sandwich box was great my daughter ate everything. I drink oat milk and it has never been an issue, they have always got some and the coffee is delicious. They now have a selection of iced coffees, Frappuccino’s, smoothies and milkshakes. There is a wide selection of teas, so something for everyone. The prices are reasonable for what you get and the staff are friendly. I would recommend a visit. I’ve had breakfast there too in the past and it was delicious!"

"Now I’m pretty fond of my grilled cheese as I’m a fan of Northern Soul in Manchester, so when I discovered Meltdown this weekend I couldn’t believe I’d never heard of it before. Just a short walk over the bridge Chester and you’ll find a lovely little place away from the bustle of the city. The staff were really **** friendly, and just the kind of chilled atmosphere I needed this weekend. I had the pizza grilled cheese and halloumi lollipops, and both were spot on!"

"Lunch with friends. Has coffee’s before ordering our lunch. The flat white had to be re heated as it just wasn’t hot enough. The tuna sandwich was huge with salad and crisps. Would have liked to crusts cut off. Bread large and very thick slices. Unable to eat it all. Friend had chilli unfortunately it wasn’t to her liking thinks it may have been after taste of coriander or some other kind of spice that was used in the recipe. Never seen sweetcorn in chilli before. Nice garlic bread. Chicken Caesar was large the chicken had been defrosted in the microwave some slices were hot some were not . Left quite a lot of our lunch. Disappointed. Staff were helpful and pleasant ."

"Wow. This place is incredible. As soon as you walk in the asethetics of the place is beautiful. So well thought out and tastefully done. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable on there products. Everytime I go I leave feeling lifted and refreshed. Their auras are just beautiful . Then we have the food and drinks. Absolutely nothing will disappoint you. I have been for brunch, lunch, cake, drinks and bistro nights. Phenomenal, everything is so tasty . The prices are reasonable and the quality is the best. My absolute fave place to go. I even took my omni husband for his birthday. He is a typical Yorkshire man and pretty critical. He loved it, complimented the food and went back for a second coffee as he enjoyed it that much. He's been again since too. Thank you guys. Your awesome"

"Most amazing cafe, really nice priced drinks £3 for an oat latte so nice to not be charged extra for non dairy. Love coming here to have breakfast, they do eggs on really tasty sourdough toast for £4 which is just a bargain. the cafe has such a chill vibe and the staff are always welcoming and very friendly. One one visit, my boyfriend got his food a while before mine because they got busy, the guy serving gave me a free drink no questions asked when he brought my food out which was lovely and offered my boyfriend a refill of his drink too for free, really great service! Amazing for any kind of visit, breakfast, lunch, sit with a coffee and do some work. Lovely independent coffee shop please visit!"

"beautiful atmosphere and very good pub food. they have live jazz on Sunday. we were looking for a steak dinner and found this place. Unfortunately, when two of us ordered the steaks, they were out. So we chose burger fish and chips and I couldn't finish the burger, it was so big. after our bier rounds, as we ordered: kartoffel jacket. one with speck and cheese and the other with drawn pork. Not what I had in the sense (kartoffel skin,) but still good. it consists of a baked potato, which is covered with various ingredients. the soße is 1870 bbq pork taquitos-delicious. for our entrees: big ben burger tw burger chicken burgers fish chips cheesecake espresso it was...read more"

"this is such a great little caffe, the personal was super friendly the tea selection is amazing. I have never found anywhere in Scotland that makes hojicha lattes, I can't wait to go back and try the matcha and genmaicha lattes next. I visited the day after they had been closed for a break, so they did not have as many baked goods as usual, but their Misto chocolate chip cookie is one of the best cookies I have ever eaten."
