"We went to Rye for a getaway day from London, and we discovered this phenomenal restaurant. It was well worth it. We began our delicious lunch with the Crab Arancini with Wasabi Mayonnaise and Salt and Pepper Squid, Noodle and Vegetable Thai Style Salad with Mint Coriander and Chilli. The menu looked very good and interesting so we ordered the Carpaccio of Scallop and Salmon with Orange Dressing, Fennel Salad followed by the Rye Bay Scallops Pan Fried with Caramelised Onion, Creamed Potato and Chive Vermouth Sauce, Crisp Pancetta followed by the Half Grilled Lobster with salad and French fries. To complete this superb lunch, we ordered the Sussex Cheese Plate with port wine and a fantastic local gin, Hastings Smugglers. Overall, a five-star-plus experience "

"the personal was very friendly and knowledgeable on the menu for different nutrition. they were brilliant when we were asked to dress some, to be made vegan by replacing butter. at least 2 vegan dishes on each of the nibble bits starter, net, side and a pudding! each of the dishes I had were amazing, and they even offer alcohol-free cocktails. we could not end all butter beans hummus, so they kindly take it away in a tub for us, so there was no waste. would really recommend it as a beautiful evening meal."

"11 nurses who trained together 33 years ago at University College Hospital, London reunited from all over the UK for a celebratory lunch. The Crown surpassed all expectations. The staff were absolutely wonderful and even stayed late because we hadn't shut up and eaten. We couldn't have asked for better service, more attentive waiting staff or better food. We ate very well and every dish was perfectly cooked. The ambience of the Crown was lovely. It was a damp, chilly day but the restaurant was warm and comfortable. Our 3 course lunch with 22 drinks cost us £34 each including tip! I think that represented great value and we all had a fabulous time. Every one of our party would thoroughly recommend the Crown"
