"Called in advance to reserve table.Arrived at restaurant which was not particularly busy.Having been given a choice of seat we sat and waited patiently for a menu to arrive. After 10 minutes of waiting, I had to go up to the bar and ask for a menu. The waitress arrived a further 10 minutes later and asked us if you guys are ready to order now . My wife is a vegetarian and at the time of reserving the table, I had specifically asked whether a vegetarian roast could be provided, and was informed that it could.Which was reassuring as it was Mothers Day and my wife is very partial to a veggie roast.Which is why I choose this restaurant. We asked for a veggie roast and was told that none was available on the mothers day menu for vegetarians but could have the menu item for vegetarians which was the vegetarian kebab. Which is basically a bowl of white rice and chucks of stir fried vegetables and salad on a pita bread. Something I could have done at home.My wife was most unhappy but as we had travelled a long way and it was far too late to go elsewhere she acquiesced and reluctantly ordered the kebab as this was all that was available for her to eat. There was fish and chips, but not on mothers day. The service was extremely slow and a number of other tables customers could be heard complaining about the slow service. The staff seemed unbothered, uncaring, there was no apparent hustle and no attention to detail. The only saving grace was the manager who appeared to be doing mostly everything himself, whilst the staff slow walked food to the wrong tables twice, which happened on two separate occasions during this visit. It is regrettable that there is a 12.5% service charge. Ordinarily I would complain openly and directly to the manager and refuse to pay this charge, but as it was Mothers Day and I could clearly see the manager was struggled with incompetent staff, and my wife was upset, we finished our main meal declined the desert and left."

"I don't often write reviews, but felt i had to for Vine Leaves on Goldhawk road. I went there with my boyfriend two weeks ago, after realising that the really nice Greek restaurant on the same road had closed down. My favourite food is Greek and Im definitely more likely to go to a smaller independent place than the Real Greek at Westfield. It was a friday night and the place was empty. The waitresses abruptness was quite shocking at first, but i thought i'd give it a chance.I ordered Chicken Kebab and salad. My boyfirend had the Chicken Escalope and chips. The portions were huge...way to big for just two people. I started digging in to my chicken and realised I was eating a piece of uncooked chicken, very raw and meaty taste to it. I felt like i was going to gag, so wanted to spit it out...but then noticed that i was being eyed up by the owner and studpidly didn't want to appear rude, so tried to just keep on chewing this bit of raw meat. I managed to spit it out in to my napkin. Both me and my boyfiend started to feel ill at the table. We decided to pay and quickly leave. I have never ever actually felt immeadiately ill from a restaurant. I have now been sick for two weeks and had several days off work . So im assuming its food poisening.I am very wary of reading reviews and like to give things a chance. But i just felt i should let people know about my experience in advance."

"I went in and liked the place right away. we arrived at 22.00 on Saturday night and it was very lively and atmospheric. looks like a great place to have a meal before they get out. unfortunately my experience with eating and the staff was far from so good. ordered a vegan chimichanga and was told by the waitress they were “from vegan options”. When I wanted to make myself clear, she said they could only make me a vegan fajita, mushroom burger or afteros. I decided for the fajita I regretted later than over 50% of the total meal consisted of boiled wobble. (I could have known this from the menu, I didn't read it when I didn't see it as an option before the waitress came.) When the waiter broke out the fajita, something in me had to check with him whether the cheese that accompanied him was vegan. he looked at it and said: no. If they are vegan, they cannot have it” and continue to take away the cheese and sour cream. I am very pleased that he had found a solution when he moved the a few centimeters to my omni friend who had ordered a burger, and said: "But you can eat it" and went away. there was no excuse, there was never a offer to replace the cheese, with, say some more guacuamole (which already came in a ridiculously small part in consideration of the size and cost of the meal), a free something or a few money back. the cocktails were nice."
