"Probably one of the “closest to actually being in Greece” restaurants in Edinburgh. The food is very authentic and has that Greek home-cooking style. The gigantes (giant butter beans) are particularly worth a mention. The menu is a little small, with some solid Greek staples missing (dolmadakia, yemista etc), but what they do offer is delicious. The restaurant itself is bright and airy and has a real lovely vibe."

"After reading so many mixed reviews, I was careful about eating in pea porridge, but it didn't have to have been. in consideration of the fact that the restaurant is raised in a prominent residential area of the market city, it goes without saying that it would not...be possible to have a parking space, but there are many parking spaces close to it. the ambiente was warm and extremely welcoming. the personal was friendly and courteous and could not be mistaken at all, the service was excellent. eating was absolutely amazing and I have never tasted such aromen that were perfectly mixed together. from huge olives and flatbread small plates to lamb kofta with tzatziki and fish soup starters to venison and wild bass with a selection of beautiful desserts it was all perfect. it was not necessary to be aside courts and the personal was really helpful when deciding whether to have side needs (here never eaten before) I am not sure why people write such negative reviews and it seems that people are confusing on what a michelin star is based: the quality of the ingredients, cooking techniques and, above all, taste. we found the whole experience perfect and thank them pea porridge for so amazing culinary crafts we will definitely be back!"

"We ate on a Friday night, with a group of friends. of our party were minutes late, but the staff were excellent about it. We had the tasting menu, which was wide and varied. Not every course was a hit with everyone, but nobody was disappointed. Fantastic cheese board and a chocolate truffle was the perfect finish. The staff didnt rush us out, and we actually stayed for a nightcap rather than going on somewhere else. Was exactly what we were looking for"

"I have visited this restaurant twice, once with my partner and once with my parents, and both times we loved it. The selection of dressings is excellent, and I highly recommend the wild boar dishes. My father enjoyed the great selection of fish options as well. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the staff is very friendly. I have also been to Selales Tapas, but I prefer this restaurant for its taste and variety. They offer beautiful wines and delicious apple wine as well."

"We visited on a quiet Tuesday evening after the late Bank Holiday in May. We were greeted instantly by a friendly waiter and given a choice of tables. The waiter was able to suggest how many dishes would be appropriate and make recommendations from the menu. We chose 2 veg, 2 fish and 3 meat dishes along with olives and bread. Every single dish was exquisite and they served them at intermittent intervals so there wasnt loads of dishes sat going cold on the table all together. The flavours were amazing and portions were about the right size. We left feeling full but not over stuffed which was nice. My husband had a coffee and i had the 'Blooms with Strawberry ' gin which was served in the 'goldfish bowl ' traditional style and certainly packed a punch. This is not the cheapest place around but you most certainly get what you pay for....fantastic quality food in really good surroundings. Even our 12yr old daughter loved it and tried a bit of everything! If you only have one night to eat out then you wont be disappointed if you choose this restaurant!"

"What an experience Skosh is! Was really looking forward to trying and booked quite a way in advance for our anniversary. Beautiful small plates, can highly recommend the duck breast, chicken gochujang, tempura brocolli and pork belly. Everything seems so well considered, maybe an obvious thing to say, but not every considered decision results in such a beautiful outcome. Even down to the crockery choices. I wish it were bigger, the small table for two is small. Some of the seating options are more of bar stool arrangement, which isn't for everyone, me included. Skosh is a real pearl of find in York. Definitely go, it's not just dinner: it's an event."

"We had a fantastic night at this charming and unique Italian restaurant located near Kensington High Street. We arrived early and were greeted warmly by the staff. The menu was different from what I had seen when booking, but it turned out to be excellent. Our dishes, including the creatively presented risotto and high-quality fish, were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and plan to return. We will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family. Thank you."

"I had a confirmed reservation, but when I arrived, I was informed that the restaurant was closed due to the absence of a cook. I understand that unforeseen circumstances can occur and it's not necessarily the restaurant's fault. However, it was frustrating that they didn't reach out to inform me about the cancellation of my booking. I made a special trip to dine there, which ended up being a waste of both time and money. To make matters worse, it was pouring rain, making it quite challenging to find an alternative restaurant at the last minute!"

"I went to Deserie with my friend Dec It was the first time since the recent renovations and extension of the restaurant had been completed. It is so much bigger and the table are very well distanced from each other. The decor is...great and the lighting perfect. The air is clean and fresh. There are so many servers which is great, as anything you want is catered for so quickly. We both had the grilled kalamari and octopus, beautiful crispy hot chips with a lovely greek salad (who cares if it an iceberg lettuce and not a cos Lettuce (Effie G). It was a great bowl of fresh ingredients. The taramasalata was creamy and pitta bread was lovely and hot. Complementary fruit for too, grapes, pineapple, melon and orange slices. Portions are generous and you don't leave hungry. So good I'm back there this Friday, with my daughter and son in law. We were having a meat free evening but i can equally recommend their chargrill kebabs and the sea bass is to die for."

"Fabulous! No other way to describe This place. The food, service and ambiance. Everything was simply fabulous! We ordered the chicken, eggplant dip and sausages for appetizer. The chicken was just cooked so perfectly! And the lemon mayonnaise that it comes with was so tasty my son would not stop dipping his flatbread in it! Ordered one each of the cassoulet, lamb shanks, braised beef and chicken tagine. Again everything was cooked to perfection especially the chicken (I keep mentioning this because so many places overcook chicken breast)! The cassoulet was on the spicier side but yummy."

"I chose this restaurant for my birthday dinner and boy! was it a good choice. It looks unassuming and is stuck in the middle of a residential area on the corner of the road. The tables and seating are fairly basic steel and the interior plain, but the food is outstanding. It is a bit like a tapas bar where you order a set of dishes which come when the chef has finished cooking them. He cooks over a grill which is fuelled by wood and I think this is what makes the food so delicious. There is a choice of 5 small dishes, about 10 large dishes and about 4 dessert dishes. We tried 13 of them and I can honestly say they were all very, very good. Perhaps the most outstanding was the pork and veal meatballs (I’m sorry I cannot remember the proper name for them) but each dish was delectable. The wine list was very interesting too and featured wines from Albania, Lebanon, Greece and other little known countries. We tried an Albanian and a Lebanese white which were both very nice. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant. It is not cheap nor wildly expensive but is worth every penny."

"Gorgeous food, impeccable service and a nicely styled restaurant. This is a restaurant we would not have found without The Fork. The food was exceptionally tasty. I particularly loved the mussels gratin and wild boar with polenta, although everyone enjoyed their meals. The chocolate fondant was divine There was a slight delay with some of the courses but this was explained and the service was excellent. We will definitely return when we are back in the area. "A friend and I recently dined at this restaurant. My friend had visited before and said it was the best Portuguese restaurant in the area, but we both agreed that the experience did not live up to the positive reviews. We ordered mussel clams and octopus salad, along with bread and butter. The salad and bread arrived first, and we were surprised to find garlic bread but no butter. The waitress didn't seem concerned. Shortly after, we were served a plate of prawns instead of the clams we had ordered. When we mentioned this to the waitress, she simply shrugged and said we had pointed at the prawns. The main courses were decent, with a creamy mushroom sauce, but the meat was tough. I have had better experiences at Portuguese restaurants in the Heathrow area and would not recommend Moniz to others."

"Every time we visit Tappinos, we are always met with excellent service, delicious food, and a wonderful atmosphere. Our experience on New Year's Eve was no different. We started with smoked cheese and caramelized onion bruschetta, which was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The rib eye steak, cooked to perfection and served medium rare, was tender and melted in our mouths. The tortellini al brasato, beef pasta in a mushroom sauce, was simply incredible. If you haven't been to Tappinos yet, you are missing out. Don't hesitate to make a reservation - you won't regret it. Thank you to the staff for yet another memorable dining experience. We'll be back soon."

Went to pay the bill and found they'd double-charged us for two items. Food was OK but nothing special and it was very pricey for what it was."
