"We recently dined at the Rudgleigh Inn Steakhouse for the first time, and we were extremely impressed. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, with a great selection on the menu. "When we saw there was no OpenTable review for this restaurant, we knew we had to give one. Gastromaquia gave us one of our best meals of the year. We were in Madrid for one night before heading back to the States, looking for a place for dinner. We found this restaurant near our hotel on OpenTable with no other information other than it was nearby. We found the website for the restaurant and were intrigued by the menu and decided to make a reservation. We are so glad we did! From the appetizers to the dessert we were enchanted and inspired.For appetizers, we ordered the Blue Fin Tuna Abrazado de atún Rojo and the Goat Cheese with Pesto Queso de cabra a la plancha. The flavors of the tuna with the tomatoes, greens, and sriracha sauce were refreshing and amazing. The warm goat cheese and pesto gave a new definition to “comfort food.”For our main dishes, we ordered the Truffled Mushroom Risotto Risotto de shitake trufado and the Duck Magret Magret de pato. The mushroom risotto was warm and flavorful. The duck was incredible. Not normally being fans of duck, we approached this dish with the most trepidation. The preparation was perfect. All the combined flavors took away any gaminess you might get from duck and instead gave this wonderful meaty flavor that was amazing.With all the dishes, the thing that we appreciated the most from this menu was the wonderful combinations of ingredients and flavors that you think you know, but, when presented in the dishes we had, opened the mind and palate to new, creative flavors.Having such a flavorful meal, we chose to share the Mojito Sorbet Sorbete de mojito and coffee for dessert which ended up being a perfect, refreshing, palatecleansing choice.Overall, we were so happy with our meal and pleased that we found this restaurant. We highly recommend it to anyone traveling in Madrid"

"The menu included similar food as in Portugal and Madeira and that is because the owner lived in Lisbon for 15 years. Why the restaurant was not busy is strange, but maybe a Sunday night is not popular. Our meal consisted of Calamari and chorizo for two, followed by a Sirloin steak cooked medium as desired and a seabass fillet served very nicely with fennel, roasted baby toms, potatoes and sauce quad and we thought the meals very well. We just had a drink. We were near the Premier Inn and would not hesitate to return to the Mediterranean Twist if in the area again."

"The fact we emailed ahead to say one of had a food allergy and the one line response... our waitress will help was not a good sign! When we asked about the menu the waitress did not go through it and just rattled off a few items that were Gluten Free Its a first that Hallumi has wheat in it. Maybe the pesto has it? But just change it to Hallumi and salad Then the chicken Shish which I ordered was not gluten Free... only because the chicken was on a small tortilla... Take it off the plate and you are left with chicken rice and salad... Gluten Free! They would open up more diners if their menu showed those options. Was felt a bit rushed and we have been to many Turkish style restaurants who all cater nicely."

"Booked for afternoon tea for a group of 12 for a small celebration. The experience and food were absolutely fine; however despite me contacting the hotel in advance by email and phone several times to confirm numbers and check whether or not a preorder was required (we were told on the phone it was not required, nor did we need to confirm the numbers until arriving on the day, both of which I specifically asked about) when we arrived the lady in charge was not aware of the arrangements I had made and seemed quite annoyed when my friend who arrived before me (and had nothing to do with the booking) didn’t know how many people were in our party. I had also asked if we could come in early and put up some balloons etc (absolutely fine if not which is why I asked) and was told that would be ‘more than fine’ on the phone, but again on arrival this hadn’t been communicated to the staff on duty so that we felt we were being a nuisance."

"I love this restaurant but I was disappointed in the food when I had dinner there earlier in the week. This could only be down to the fact that the main chef was on holiday though I have found it to be a bit hit and miss in the past. They are changing their name to 43 but it is still owned and managed by the same people. But I will be going back as it has become a treasured local mainly because of their wonderful waiter, Jose."
